The Grand Priest can be the main antagonist without ever having to actually fight.

The tournament with Tien was an arc with a primary villain who is not part of the tournament itself, and whom thus goes unfought, in the form of Crane Hermit. The ultimate victory is moral rather than literal - Goku loses, but his ideology wins out over Tien's resulting him turning away from the Big Bad.
It gets overlooked because the villains who dropped in on the celebration were legitimately way worse and had actions with far more weight (Crane Hermit's goals are petty and inconsequential in comparison). But it shows that not every tournament arc with a villain has to end with a physical victory over the villain, nor does it have to involve stopping the tournament. And this one is built up as a character arc even moreso, so there being more to the climax than a fistfight with the main villain is certainly possible.

Episode 79:
- Basil fights like Shinobu Sensui. Forget what I said about Team Jacob before. Basil is my favorite new character.
- Universe 7 can't sense Universe 9's energy. Interesting, kind of like the Yuuzhan Vong from the Star Wars EU. Also, Fanfic Fuel.
- No ring-outs? Wait, is that yellow bear from the last tournament still competing? I mean, I guess they could throw him into space where he'd technically no longer be able to move.
- Buu's pissed.
- So now we're ribbing Tree Of Might?
- Beerus: Using drugs to power up? What the heck is that!?
- Damn, Zeno has Universe 7 by the balls.
- It's weird how the most evil, dangerous things are usually in correlation to how young and/or childlike you are. Like, Frieza was alive for decades/centuries perhaps and, while certainly a threat to the universe, in the grand scheme of things he was small potatoes.
- So let me get this straight? Anything goes in this tournament? So that means then that Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan could have run into the ring and ganked Basil so long as Zeno was entertained?
- Buu: You're strong. But, I'm even stronger.
- o_o Badass.
- Did Buu just kill that guy?
- Oh snap Basil just went Super Saiyawolf 2!
- And now he's down for the count.
- Okay, so, these matches are basically decided by who impresses Zeno the most. That means whoever gives the craziest performance wins. See, here, Super Saiyan 4 would have absolutely saved the day. Turning into a giant golden monkey would have blown the Zenos's sociopathic little minds.
- HA, Supreme Kai hugging Beerus.
- Hot damn, Zeno's Supreme Kais are better than ours.
- I can't believe they're fighting a team of wolves and Yamcha isn't here.
- That wolf looks rabid.
- I miss the old "episode preview" song.
- I don't get it, is Gohan Super Saiyan or is he in his Mystic State? The way he looks at the end of the preview suggests the latter but... does he only just reawaken that power or...?
Neat. 8/10. Buu and Basil were awesome.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!That'd hopefully be case wouldn't it?
They can't exist without their respective G.O.D.s ...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Vaguely demonic? He is friends with Satan after all...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.@randomness4 Im not sure angels can't exist without their Go D. I know that applies to Kaioshins but does the same apply to angels?
35 year old white man. It's the reverse.
The G.O.D. can't exist without the Supreme Kai....
The Angel can't exist without the G.O.D. and yeah...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I hope we get a break time where all the characters can interact with each other.
I'd imagine that's how Goku's rivalry with the red and black alien guy gets created. There given a break and are free to fool around and eat but the Universe 7 warriors notice that everyone is avoiding them while also giving varying degrees of dirty looks there way. The red and black guy is the only one who talks to Goku who thinking that he is evil goes to him in an attempt to call him out for endangering the universe and swears that he will defeat him in the name of justice and the people.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Technically speaking, the Angels are still alive even with the Go D dead. They're just kinda non functioning?
It could work I suppose.
It's also possible they are secretly cyborgs ANDROIDS.
Or power levels work differently and they're just really weak.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Say guys, what other tournaments arcs you recommend me to watch while waiting for the episodes? I'm watching the dark arc of Yu Yu Hakusho, and so far is fun. Outside of that, I don't know much about the plot, Saint Seiya had one, but it was pretty meh, Naruto didn't impress me and I still have a grudge with Kishimoto... so, what would you recommend?
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.

I mean that in all but one Dragon Ball Tournament Arc, the epic final battle exclusively involves people who actually entered the tournament and fought through the tournament brackets, and the final victory is framed as a tournament victory, not as a great triumph over an evil villain who interrupted the tournament. The Daishinkan isn't entering the tournament, so he's out as the final antagonist of this arc.
