Did you mean power levels don't matter? It wouldn't make sense either way with the #18 comment, but randomness was curious.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Oh, okay then.
18 for the not fighting!!
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. While the power gap between Krillin and 18 is indeed ridiculous, the gap between 18 and Super Buu is most certainly exponentially more ridiculous. Her being stronger than Krillin doesn't matter when she's still just another insect waiting to be turned into chocolate. Plus, anyone else getting involved defeats the entire purpose of the scene.
Not completely...if at least one other person who "could fight" tried to help Krillin, that would've been just as effective.
Just not #18.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Not really. There's absolutely nothing any of them could of done. Buu was so far beyond them that 18's unlimited stamina meant nothing in the face of it.
I'd always assumed that Krillin's logic (beyond not wanting his wife and child to die, because he's been there, done that and there's no way he's letting them go through that shit) is that 18 stood a better chance (infinitesimal as it was) of at least protecting Marron (due to her lack of Ki) then he did.
Of course, this becomes questionable when you remember the Human Annihilation attack. Considering most average humans likely have Ki as low as Marron and he was still able to track and kill them all with that trick, it's unlikely anything would have saved them.
The worst part of that is not only watching a young child (how old was Marron at that point), but that not only were Krillin's efforts as futile as you'd expect, but that the two people he wanted to protect most were the next two to die.
Way to twist the knife there Toriyama (unless that was filler and the manga didn't show who was killed next, or even how they died when Buu escaped).
One Strip! One Strip!"Just as ineffective"...accurate.
Clarification.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice."Hey, my darling wife, could you go fight that monster to the death while I run away?"
What is Krillin, The Joker?
That depends, does the Joker is married while having a kid?
The situation wouldn't be the same without it.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Krillen has balls, no doubt about that.
Again Super Buu was a fucking monster. I don't think the Z-Fighters will ever experience that kind of fear again in Super.
Oooh I was also terrified of Baby Vegeta. Dude took not just Vegeta but also the whole planet turning them all evil & crazy but also gave Goku a brutal beat-down. I think he even lost an arm to him. Scared the shit outta me when I was a kid.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Fear of the villain sitting right next to them and being able to do nothing about it?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Episode 80 spoiler: Actually, Gohan is fighting Lavenda (the old wolf brother), but it does seem Lavenda also has poison powers for whatever reason.
Also, what if... Tien married Launch and never told anybody because no one asked/17 married Suno and never told anybody because he's embarrased by being a family man.
Doesn't Suno already have an artificial human in her life?
Jesus, I need to pay more attention, I just caught the word "Suno" and almost had a heart attack.
My various fanfics. The Joker often won't run away from Batman even if he has Harley around, because Joker is a sicko who actually loves Batman beating down on him and taunting him on why he won't kill him already. Dude's actually got a lot of guts, he's usually rather flippant and disrespectful around other murderous villains, even ones who are more powerful than him.

Only time Joker's actually scared of someone or something are cosmic level beings and/or events, and those who are already so far gone that there's almost no morality or honor to actually corrupt and/or mock (for example, against the Punisher and that one BTAS episode where his potential victim had faked a total mental breakout and became a suicidal lunatic).
But we digress.

Buu was a failed experiment to artificially a God of Destruction that either Gone Horribly Wrong or Gone Horribly Right depending who you ask, but occurred so long ago not even Zen'O remembers.

Well, you could stop the Freeza Force by transforming into Freeza only long enough for one of them to notice Freeza hadn't killed them yet, but otherwise, it's pretty damn clear and explicit that transforming into something bigger or stronger does not, in fact, make you stronger.
Mostly everyone else, though?
Well, it wasn't gonna do shit is what I'm saying.
