OK, finally caught the episode. Can confirm that nowhere at all did Goku mention anything about Future Trunks's timeline at all. Kinda peeved it ended right when the fight with Buu and Basil was about to begin, but that just means next week is gonna be the fight proper, and that makes me excited.
Also, I'm guessing since one of the Universe 9 fighters is named Basil, that'll mean the other fighters will be named after spices too.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I watched that already.
You know, you'd think after all the times Goku has been told to be more respectful, he'd ...learn to be respectful.
I mean, people have been bitching him out about this shit for years. Since we've determined he's not dumb and can take a hint, it's really annoying how it doesn't sink in. It's clear he's just deliberately ignoring what others say (which is why they are even in this mess).
One Strip! One Strip!Remember Tails? This is him now. Feel old yet?
Ganesha and Gowasu are Godtube Best Buddies
Again, I think it's mostly a thing of never having to face any lasting consequences.
For Goku himself, things always end up working one way or another, and it's hard to faze and distress him in the first place. Why would he feel moved to change when he can go through life just fine being the way he is?
Vegeta pretty much losts his dreams of megalomanical superiority and had to find himself a new idea of happiness and contentment with himself, but Goku's never really lost his way in what concerns to his raison d'etre.

Pretty much.
For as long as he could remember, Goku has always been able to just either literally wish away any problems, or physically beat it up. Every time he's been in a bad spot, something has often happened to save him.
The biggest mistake he's made was sending Gohan out to fight (well, really, misjudging what kind of person Gohan was), and even then, he was right about what would happen, even if it was a close call.
There was also sending Goten and Trunks out to fight, and not saving them when Buu blew up the planet, but even that was solved with Dragonballs.
How do you make someone understand the consequences of his actions when his actions rarely backfire in a way that can't be completely undone?

,
x3 Which is why I thought that after all the universes are inevitable recreated with the Super Dragon Balls, many of the fighters from the other Universes with see Goku as a completely deranged idiot, and outright refuse to be friends with Goku, declaring him an enemy of their race at worst. This would lead to more than a couple of civilizations across the other Universes to slap Goku a "kill on sight" order even if he's just passing through for some reason, him getting slandered and ostracized ruthlessly by these inhabitants, and possibly leading to the logical conclusion of a full on invasion of Earth just to kill Goku.
Not only this, but Beerus could also suffer flack from the other Gods of Destruction for not reigning in Goku in first place, with the possibility of the Gods becoming actually bold enough to demand that Zen'o possibly replace Beerus.
Plus, there is also the fact that we do not know whether or not the Grand Priest told anyone else besides, Beerus, Whis, Goku, and the U7 Supreme Kais of the win and lose conditions of the tourny. For all the other Gods of Destruction, Supreme Kais, and their fighters would know, this is probably just a fun get-together with no consequences, and the only threat of erasure is immediate if the Zen'Os are bored.

DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!So you want the universe to go Shinji in 3.0 on him?
...Not sure how to feel about that really.

One Strip! One Strip!
And then he does it all again as soon as it suits him to do so.
Honestly, even if I think the idea does go too far, I'm rather sick of Goku not grasping what he happens when he fucks up.
One Strip! One Strip! And we saw how much he learned from that.
That being said, I'm waiting to see how the anime handles it.
One Strip! One Strip!I don't think Dragon Ball is a series where resentment would lead to other universes would invade Earth with armies just to kill Goku... They would send their most powerful warriors, not their armies
On a side note, which spice is Bergamo supposed to be a pun for? I get Basil and Lavenda, but not that one.
(Also, I'm wondering if in the tournament proper they'll have a sister called Maryrose)
You know I want to defend Goku like I was doing last week, in that this is really Zeno responsible for it. But his nonchalance about just going "Ok I have to win to save my universe" and not even giving a second thought to the 11 other fucking universes that are going to be erased because of this pisses me off. God I know he's not really a good person, but for fucks sakes Goku.
Also the super dragonball option probably won't work, because I can see Zeno just redestorying all the universes and this time doing the same to universe 7 for daring to go against him.
Click Click Boom Boom

I agree that it was very weird that no one was concerned for the other universes. Like, there wasn't even a passing thought. It's just "Oh, I'll win for sure."
What about the literal billions of innocent people you kill with each victory?
