[up][up] Not only that, but people still knew who Goku was during the Saiyan Saga, and let five years later, only the King remembers who he was, or even remembers King Piccolo.

Seriously, when Piccolo showed up for the 23rd Martial Arts tournament, everyone should've shit themselves in terror, because "HOLY SHIT, IT'S SATAN."

The king is the only one who knows he beat King Piccolo isn't he?

[up]Offscreen retcon via Dragon Balls?

It does have a precedent.

What's even worse is that none of this possibly explains what these guys think happened to the Moon, since they saw it get blown to Kingdom Come by Roshi during the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai, and while yes, the Moon was brought back by Kami almost a year or two later, someone should have seen the Moon explode again when Piccolo blew it up, which is more significant since they never brought it back. Did people seriously not notice that the Moon was gone for over a year, or that it just stopped appearing at all, since this is literally the reverse of what happened in the Naruto World, and even then it took them a few centuries before they forgot everything even remotely related to the Moon.

Mr. Satan is actually an evil mastermind who built his own Dragon Radar, found the dragon balls, and wished away everyone's memories.

Seriously, though, forgetting who Goku and Piccolo are by the time news crews were covering the Saiyan Saga would be like people in 1950 forgetting who Churchill and Hitler were.

They did.

Piccolo loses the turban and parts of his uniform after Goku's Kamehameha, and the crowd notices that he looks a lot like Daimao (remember, they aren't an exact match). And then he's like yeah I'm Daimao reborn and everyone collectively goes OH FUCK.

I just wonder where all the non-Z badass humans went by Z. Anyone from the 21st, 22nd or 23rd Tournament could beat Mr. Satan.

Also Spike the Devilman is the strongest character in the series. He'd one shot SSJ Vegito.

[up][up][up][up][up] Yeah. The whole island even evacuates, and it's treated like no one even died when Piccolo blew it up later in the fight.

Dragon Ball: pulling "good thing it was Sunday!" before there was an English dub.

[up]

They were probably all severely traumatized by being murdered by Tambourine. The few fighters that were ballsy enough to still participate were then subject to the reincarnation of the Devil showing up and blowing up the whole island. I don't know about you, but if both of those things happened to me in back to back tournaments, I'd be like "Fuck this! I'm going home".

Spike couldn't do crap to Buu. I don't think Buu even has a heart.

[up][up][up][up] Oh, the 25th.

[up][up] I like to think that Piccolo's minions killed them all. Or less darkly, that they had been put off by the tournaments (especially the 23rd) due to being outclassed.

I don't think Spike could do crap to anyone from the 22nd Budokai onwards, except Nappa.

Of course he could... if he could hit them. I think the likes of Freeza and Cell (would it even work on Cell?) would be arrogant enough to allow it, as well any of Freeza's soldiers after reading his pitiful power level, and the androids too. As well as, like, 90% of the movie villains. Definitely Beers, at the very least. He'll just have to declare to any of these guys that he can kill them in one hit. They'll know how weak he is, laugh, and probably say "bring it on". Then he hits them with the beam and their heart explodes.

Didn't they bring back everyone killed by the Demon Clan after Goku took out King Piccolo?

I'm counting on their ability to dodge. Freeza at least dodged the Kienzan, Nappa wasn't going to until Vegeta warned him. I'm giving people the benefit of the doubt and assuming they'll want to dodge it, which they'll be able to. Cell probably wouldn't dodge, but he could regenerate. I guess I'll correct that and say it could go either way for Cell. I can't see many people bothering to allow it to hit them, especially since as you go higher up it'd just be slower and slower from their perspective.

Spike would probably be dead long, long before he can decide to use his move. Or perform the move itself, or brag about it, etc.

[up] I believe so, yes. So what I should say is that I believe they were put off either way, but I believe they were killed as well.

I can see any of Freeza's soldiers allowing it to hit them. They'd just go purely by numbers, and are universally arrogant to a fault. The androids were also pretty arrogant, with 18 letting herself get hit a few times. Freeza would definitely just try to tank it to show off; he did all the time in his fight with the Z-gang.

I wonder why Goku never asked to learn that technique. Would've been reeeeeeeeeal useful later on. I wonder what would happen if he tried it on Pure Evil Buu? Earth-Shattering Kaboom?

Well, I didn't consider unnamed characters much. I assume some will be stupid enough and some won't. Some will think the attack wouldn't hurt them but would just shoot Spike dead anyway and go do something interesting.

Also, it wouldn't really be in Goku's character to learn it even if such a thing can be learned.

Who's talking about unnamed characters? When I say Freeza's henchmen I'm including such guys as Dodoria. Assuming they actually get into a fight with Devilman, they'll probably try to tank it if he declares he can kill them in one hit. Just like Nappa.

Oh, I thought you meant the goons with the hand lasers. I don't really expect any of the named folks to tank it, just because Devilman says it'll kill them in one hit. I'm pretty sure he doesn't announce what it does before he fires it anyway, so that'd make it moot.

He didn't with Goku, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't with anyone. Dodoria really didn't seem like the "finish everything quickly and easily" kind of guy. Neither did Raditz, or Nappa, or Vegeta, or Zarbon, or Recoome, or really any of Freeza's henchmen.

He shouldn't with anyone, because that's simply smarter unless he knows enough about the person to know that they will be goaded into it.

I don't expect any fight to last long enough for everything to fall into place for him to successfully use it. So many things would have to go right for him.

I'd just assume that. It's a better bet than actually trying to hit someone so far above you normally.

I still think it's disappointing no one ever used this ability again. It's an awesome power.

Saiga Since: Feb, 2011 Relationship Status: Getting away with murder
#5150: Feb 18th 2014 at 4:49:39 PM

He has to last long enough to find out they're that far above him. Last long enough to understand that they will easily dodge it, at least, before he tries to goad them. I just don't see it happening.
