Nah, that was the Super Dictionary. Which illustrated each word with a bizarre scenario and a bunch of redundant sentences using the word in context.
The latter of which, fun fact, was the inspiration for Mojo Jojo's odd speech patterns.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I don't think Goku really thinks like that, with "values x above y" and so on. I think he legitimately cares about a lot of different things and doesn't see any disconnect in denying one in order to satisfy another, which is different from the way most everyone else thinks - but that perspective is alien to him. To him, he can sacrifice time with his family for training and not expect any loss in relationship with the latter - and his family and friends are so used to his personality, that they accept this and don't have hard feelings about it (even Chi-Chi doesn't really stew over it).
You can see it with the way he deals with crises. Goku always approaches situations with "I'll deal with it, and if I can't deal with it now I can find a way to deal with it later, so no need to worry" - so he's blase about problems and threats and just focuses on good fights and having fun. He's assured that if things go badly, he can handle it. And he only ever really stops thinking like that when he loses someone he cares about, but even then he's still capable of dealing with it eventually.
This is one of the few times the universe isn't proving that worldview to ultimately be correct (the last time being with Cell and Gohan - and even he was still more or less correct).

I think another two times would be when Vegeta allowed himself to be controlled by Babidi and blasted an entire portion of the Martial Arts Tournament stadium and threatened to kill more civilians if he did not fight Vegeta then and there; and basically dealing with Buu after he became Super Buu.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!The thing about Goku's parenting style is that he legitimately doesn't think children need a lot of supervision or sheltering, because he himself grew up without those, and never considered that something bad. If it wasn't for Chi Chi, he would have no problem with letting his kids leave home and do whatever for years at a time, not because he doesn't love them, but because he doesn't consider that a bad thing.

I blame the fact that he was raised by a combination of head injury, being raised by an old hermit in the middle of nowhere, having to fend for himself for who knows how long until the age of twelve, and then Saiyan DNA. I listed his species as last because being a Saiyan is probably the least viable reason for Goku's outlook on life.
Might be. Before the first time he died, Piccolo flat out told Vegeta "dude, you are soooooo goin' to Hell," and Enma actually told Vegeta later on that the ONLY reason he's letting him out of Hell without Dragon Balls is because the situation with Buu is that dire, as otherwise the only way out would've been with the Dragon Balls.

DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!Goku's outlook in life does have very much to do with being a Saiyan and thinking like a Saiyan. His nature is very important in terms of his personality.
However, the reason why he developed in the way he did stems from nurture and experience, not just said nature. Goku could have grown with a sense of responsibility and less skewed morals had he been raised by a more well adjusted human being, but he grew up as an hermit in the middle of nowhere and throughout the entirety of his life, he has never come across a problem that could not be punched to death.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariRandomness wouldn't think that Karrot would actually need that kind of lesson...
But besides power levels...he's never truly had such "great power" in that way...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.

Clearly Goku shouldn't have ever learned instant transmission technique, it allows him too much freedom to do whatever he wants
