You just reminded me of the bit in XV 1 where Demigra's symbol blows up, and SKOT calls it the "Majin Emblem". Which gets really weird if you're playing as a Majin race character.
And of course, that Majin emblem hasn't anything to do with Babadi's M mark.

I have a message from another time...I actually do bat an eye, but since I know it won't stop the mocking (especially of Yamcha) and just make them put more effort into it (in some misguided attempt to prevent excessive wanking of Yamcha), I see no point in defending him. Plus, it can actually be funny sometimes.
Fighting against pointless obnoxious Fanwanking of certain characters is something I can understand, but if you're just insulting the people who like the character (even the ones who are far more harmless, and just making joke suggestions) it's can lead to becoming as bad as the idiots you are fighting against.
Anyway, some people sure seem to like claiming Tien's actions were 100% meaningless.
I maintain that, while it ultimately did mean nothing (though not due to any lack of effort on his part) and did no damage to Cell, considering that we've established that it's very tough if not impossible for a weaker character to harm a stronger one in any way, I still feel that the fact that Tien was able to slow him down in any way, shape or form is impressive, and while he shouldn't be wanked as the most awesome dude in existence, far stronger than any other character or shit like that, he should at least be given credit for not only doing more than anyone else at that point despite being totally out of his league, but for not escalating the situation and making it worse, as Krillin and Vegeta would do later.
That's my two cents.
One Strip! One Strip!I don't think Saiga or LSBK would mind people praising Tien's moment if they didn't act like it was way more impressive than it actually was. I mean yea, it's awesome that he was able to hold the line despite being far below on the weight scale in terms of strength, but that's it.
Yet, people treat this as some shining achievement of "ZOMG HUMANZ ARE USFUL" and it's just obnoxious to hear that shit. But this is most fans of Dragon Ball in a nutshell, overhyping moments and making them seem bigger than they actually are.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Gaiz, did juu see dat seen were Krillin hit Goku with a rock?! Hez totes strongest then Goku!
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!![]()
That. I went through a time of denigrating that moment just because of how obnoxious people were about that. I'm done doing that now, and can appreciate it for what it was, but that means being honest about what actually happened and not over inflating it's actual significance and acknowledging the circumstances that actually made it possible.

Ok that's fair.
I can understand that as well. People like the human characters, so seeing them just left in the dust is really hard.
I mean, I can't remember if it was this thread or the Abridged thread where we brought it up, but it's kinda...maybe Toriyama should have gone all in on writing them out. If they weren't gonna be on the front lines fighting anymore (barring the tournament), then just like Launch, he should have taken them out. But he didn't. They kept showing up, even though all they do is get easily beaten to create tension.
He gave Krillin a good ending, so he should have just stuck with that and said now he's gone. A few cameos, but no longer a big deal.

That's fair. I can get that. Most of you are aware of my massive spite for Naruto near the end of that series.
I still feel that way mostly, but I no longer feel the need to state it every sentence. I can get when something gets so frustrating, you feel the need to tear it down every chance you get.

One Strip! One Strip!
What "lol"? What part of pointing out why the moment was able to happen and that Cell wasn't hurt at all is denigrating it? Or is stating how things actually happened and not how some fans like to envision it insulting now?
It's a good moment for Tien but not because it's super badass or anything.

Cause you keep repeating that it isn't impressive and pointing out that it did no damage when people have already acknowledged that and said that's not a meaningful factor in why it's impressive. Comes off as trying to downplay a cool thing really hard, especially when the whole point was that Krillin never had a similar moment.

Wow, way to misinterpret things. I pointed those things out for clarification, because when this topic gets brought up it's always in the vain of "Look how super strong and awesome Tien is!" Any "acknowledgement" of that was after I pointed this out. You certainly didn't until that post.
And Krillin totally had moments like that, taking out those three Saibamen, saving Gohan from Nappa and actually almost killing him, saving Gohan and Dende from Dodoria, and from Frieza by chopping off his tail and leading him away so Dende could heal him.

I don't think anyone was trying to do that this time. At least that's how I saw it. I can get why you thought that would happen (it has happened before), but you may have jumped the gun a bit this time.
You know, I often forget how important those were. I suppose they seem less impressive because the Saibamen were weak, Nappa dodged (with help from Vegeta) it was Gohan who jumped to saved Dende first, and he mostly just ran from Frieza (which anyone would have had to do).
Meanwhile, Tien's actions against Cell, while being just as futile, can seem better due to the perceived belief that Tien is stronger than Krillin (he's not, but I can get why some might think otherwise due to his greater willingness to jump into the fray) and the fact that it comes off as more visually impressive.
One Strip! One Strip!
I made the original post in response to Moth's statement that Tien's Cell feat is more impressive than anything Krillin has ever done and explained why that's not the case.
If he didn't mean impressive as a feat but just in his willingness to actually try, he should have clarified.
That being said, maybe I did get a bit too confrontational on that, so apologizes for that all.

There I take care to not say damaged Cell, and acknowledge that it had limited effects and drawbacks. I know you want to make things clear and that's commendable, but assuming I don't know what happened feels patronizing, and assuming I am trying to overhype Tien feels like going into the conversation in bad faith. I don't like it.
Oh. Well, thank you for apologizing.
It's all cool.

It's not a problem.
Like I said, I can get why people bending over backwards to over hype the humans can grind some people's gears a little.
One Strip! One Strip!Okay how can anyone actually take the nightmare post seriously? That was obviously a joke in reference to IANCE talking about dreaming, and it was the most mild thing ever.
Also about these fights being one v one, they're not. We've been told they were team battles and the idea of team attacks was teased with 18 and 17/Kuririn.
What? When has that been said?
One Strip! One Strip!Hmm.
Well, we'll see how that goes.
What else do we know about the rules again.
One Strip! One Strip! Here's the thing: We can all acknowledge that comparatively speaking, Tien is to the Z fighters what a plasticine spoon is to an m60, but that does not mean he should have a pitiful showing and be meaningless.
What I'm saying is, if they brought him along, they better give him some actual usage.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariThing is, I'm fairly sure you're letting your anger at the stupid people who think Tien can take Krillin get the better of you.
Here, we're not shouting that we want Tien to do something because we're die hard fans of Tien, we want him to do something because we want the anime to do interesting things. Tien busting out a bunch of silly moves would be interesting.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimari

Majin means demon. What are Dabura's people called in Japanese?
