Is he? Theirs may have been a battle that's so dangerous that it made him tremble, but is he really afraid of Hit? This is, after all, the guy who intentionally hired Hit to try and kill him, just for the sake of testing his own strength.
This bit worked with Krillin not specifically because he's afraid of Tambourine, or Freeza, or Buu, but because he's haunted by the trauma in his past in general. Goku isn't haunted by the times he's been overwhelmed in battle. On the flipside, he's excited by those moments.
Wow, this thread moves fast when it wants to.

A'ight, that was a fun episode, but I gotta ask... Did Krillin just unlock a new, human-based transformation?
◊
That's not a normal looking aura, it almost looks like God/Blue/Rose/Rage but white.
Could be a form of Enlightenment Superpower. Time will tell.

I have a message from another time...![]()
Purity isn't an escape from fear...
I'm curious about that too. It could be anywhere from him unlocking his potential (again) and getting back on the track he was before he started letting himself go, to his newly cleared mind changing and improving the manner in which he uses his ki. The latter of which is shounen shorthand for "about to improve by leaps and bounds."
This episode (and, arguably, Krillin's whole arc in Super) puts a lot on Krillin not just becoming a martial artist again, but actually being on the path to becoming stronger, which leaves me thinking "to what end?" Across the series it's a plot I really like, but they still have yet to establish or introduce a means in which it will matter. The power difference is an enormous elephant in the room (Krillin even points it out it in the first episode of the two parter).
Either way, we'll just have to see where the next arc goes for him from here.

His fear priority is skewed...he's not fearless.
Or a piercing pain is just worse than blunt pain.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Also interesting to note, this is the first time we've seen Krillin's first death.

It turned from a kick into a goomba stomp?
It didn't even look like he landed that hard.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice....What do you mean, first time? The Tambourine stomp was there in the original Dragon Ball
, too.

Goku's scared of Hit.
