...So, I was watching TFS's playthrough of Supersonic Warriors 2, when the Dr. Gero corps. happened.
It's kind of amazing. And. I wish it was a thing more often?
Like. Android 20 was a completely machine body, just with his brain in it. And in both the manga and Super Android 13, he had that super computer, which in the English dub of 13, seemed to have his personality.
So like. Having a backup Android 20 body controlled remotely by the computer, or a bunch of mass-produced Android 20 bodies.
I never knew I wanted this until right now.
EDIT: Or, like. Have a different Android 20 body for every occasion, and switch his brain case between them whenever he felt like it.

Supersonic Warriors 2 does some goofy stuff. My favorite what-if is Broly getting amnesia and taking Buu's place as Hercule's best friend. To summarize, Hercule finds him, then they become friends and Hercule enters them into a tag-team tournament, where Broly comes face-to-face with Goku, Broly gets triggered, goes Legendary Super Saiyan, and goes on a rampage before Hercule steps in to calm him down. It ends with Broly turning into a good guy, and he basically becomes a chiller and slightly more unhinged Vegeta.
My favorite so far is Cooler taking his sweet-ass time getting to Earth, only to get fucked right up by Gohan on the way to school, which is about how things should go.

My various fanfics.I mean, the first game also had Krillin be the one to kill Cell and Majin Buu, as well as Piccolo merging with his father to gain power rivaling Super Buu, before using the Mafuba on him and putting the jar in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!I love this idea. It's rather odd that Gero made so few androids. Then again, due to the constant retcons, nothing about a lot of what Gero did makes sense. A whole army of dudes who could drain energy and couldn't be sensed. I know that normally, being weaker than the other guy means that even if you gang up on him, you still lose, but if you add in being able to get the drop on your enemy (due to not having ki) and draining their strength when you grab on to them...
Well, lets imagine how Vegeta's little stunt of letting 19 drain him would have gone if suddenly, ten or twenty other 19's came out of nowhere, dog-piled him, and all started draining his energy at once.
You could argue that Gero didn't have the resources to make more of them, but he had the resources to make 16, and modify himself, 19, 17, and 18 IN A CAVE WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!!!! so I don't buy that.
The answer is two fold:
1) Toriyama didn't think of it;
2) He seems to prefer one big villain that's too strong for anyone but the most powerful members of the cast.
One Strip! One Strip!I liked the Super Sonic Warriors 2 side path where Android 18 teams up with Trunks to stop a swarm of Metal Coolers from destroying a clothing store.
I also love a lot of the gang up moves, Vegeta and Piccolo's being the first to come to mind("Follow my lead! Don't tell me what to do!")
Buldogue's lawyerFor all we know, his lab is still the same one he had while he worked for the RRA, and the resources he used to build Androids 16 through 20 and Cell were all stuff he had left over from the RRA days.
Furthermore, producing the androids he did? Not in any way, shape or form indicative of his ability to mass produce them, because produced all of five androids that were even remotely a threat to the Z Fighters that we know of. We have to assume that if he could've made an army, he would have.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariA while back someone posted some brief info on the make and models he made. Pretty sure Android 8 was the last thing he did before Goku destroyed the Red Ribbon Army.
Also, something about Android 9 being made from the corpse of General Red, but I might be remembering that wrong. It doesn't really make much sense.
When they stop having human emotions and start having robot emotions...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It's a function of original parts. If the final result is a mix of artificial parts and the original body, they're a cyborg. If it's an entirely artificial body with Gero's mind and nothing else, it's an android. And even then, but you can prove that the mind inside is actually Gero and not a copy, it's still arguable.
Android 9 being from Red's corpse is, debatable. And even if it was, that was in Dragon Ball Online, which, if you remember, was a game about Time Breakers screwing up history. It's highly dubious if that was the original #9 or the #9 that came about as a side effect of their meddling.
Edit:However, if that was the original #9, it does add an element of tragedy to Gero's story. It's said all the numbers before 16 were too powerful to control and thus destroyed. Considering even the Time Breakers needed to control the Red Pants Army, which #9 goes on to found in the age 1000, through manipulation and proxy rather than directly, it's very likely Gero would have had to destroy his resurrected leader. Granted, "Online" also has the mass produced Android 16s, but I suppose that can be chalked up to superior technology of the future and or superior resources of a Time Breaker backed Red Pants army to a lone scientist in hiding.

Buldogue's lawyerSeriously? Does Gero have no clue have to actually keep his minions in check? How the fuck is he so bad at this?
One Strip! One Strip!Actually, it's just said that all of the ones before 16 were considered failures. 16, 17, and 18 were consider failures, too.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!...Well, either way Gero really sucks.
The guy has never had a good machine...except for Sergeant Metallic, who needed to be Kamehameha'ed in the face.
And he still would have kept going if he didn't run out of power.
Gero should have stuck with that model.
One Strip! One Strip!Dr. Gero managed to create four artificial humans (if you want to count Cell as such) who were far more powerful than the strongest mortal in the universe. He also managed to create a machine that provides infinite energy. That does not sound like a failure to me.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!

I miss Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and The Brak Show.
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!
