Well Champa did try to claim a planet by forcing a bunch of strong guys to win a tournament for him and claim said planet as his prize.
And I skipped the first quarter of the baseball episode but I'm assuming he tried the same stunt via the baseball game.
Vados and Whis simply don't care.

It'd be nice if they weren't like that.
It's bad enough that the ruler of the universe is a spoiled child who can erase the entire universe on nothing more then a whim (and now there's fucking two of him thanks to Goku).
It's bad enough that the gods who aren't dicks are so weak that any powerful (and evil mortal) can surpass them and then just take over if they wanted (or if they actively do something, a Pink bubblegum monster slaughters them).
And when you get a single god who might have actually fared well against such enemies, he decides FUCK THE MORTALS and decides to start killing everything and not even letting the Gods sort them out, because he killed them too.
I'd like a few gods who are powerful and genuinely benevolent as well, though then the plot has to ensure that something happens to prevent them from helping anyway, so what can you do.

He didn't try the same stunt in the Baseball episode...the prize was suppose to be food and he forgot.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The only way I can see a series including powerful, benevolent gods is if the series explains that these gods can't help anyone because their busy fighting the Dragon Ball equivalent of Dormammu
. Otherwise, you have to maintain dramatic tension by keeping gods incompetent.
(4) For some reason that made me realize that all the gods in this series are to some some degree apathetic.
King Kai Kami wouldn't step in against King Piccolo until Goku showed up, or the Red Ribbon Army. King Kai only contacted anyone once the... well after Goku showed up. Supreme Kai didn't care enough to back up his claim about felling Freeza. Beerus didn't care about Freeza, or Buu wiping out the Kaioshin. Whis certainly didn't care...
(Wait, isn't only that Gods of Destruction die when the Supreme Kai die? What happened to Whis in Trunks's timeline? I thought he was an "angel," does that count for God of Destruction even though he's just an attendant/teacher?)
...about Beerus getting whacked because of Buu and Babidi killing the Supreme Kais. In the anime the Grand Kai and the other Kais didn't care about King Kai's affairs. Zeno didn't care about Zamasu until Goku... well, made him show up. Our Zeno doesn't care about Mira, Towa, or any of the weirdness going on.
And then there's Goku and Vegeta. Goku doesn't care how evil his opponent is and mostly just wants a good fight. Vegeta is the king of IDGAF. One could assume that the gods all feel that mortals shouldn't rely on them, and Goku even champions this idea in the Buu Saga before deciding to come back to life and have everyone rely on him.
(2) Ah, well, that's... significantly more mundane. Absurd as it was I kind of chuckled at the idea of the fate of the planet being decided by a baseball game.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I'm definitely getting the sense that the citizens of the multiverse (and possibly the Gods of Destruction) will rise up against Zen-O and the Grand Priest for this tournament because seriously, dick move.
This song needs more love. Why would they do that? He's not making them kill each other...

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Because supposedly they are wiping out the losing universes.
I kinda sick of evil and apathetic beings being the dominant forces in the Dragonball universe.

He's threatening to blow up everyone and everything they love if they don't fight as well as the others. If that's not tyranny, I don't know what is.

This song needs more love.Yeah, that's nothing to be upset about.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. There's no argument, they...just can't do anything about it.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Maybe not but if nothing else, I'm sure the losing universes would all rather go down fighting against a common foe than just lie back and accept it.

This song needs more love.Regarding the baseball plot, it was intended at first to be a fun, casual game of sports, to deepen the bonds between U7 and U6, but Champa set it on U7's Earth because he wanted to eat the food there afterwards, and he didn't care about the game itself until Vados mentioned that proper exercise before a meal can make said meal taste better.
(also, why would you skip the first third of any episode of any show? Is your time really so valuable that you can't waste 7 minutes of it on set-up?)

...That doesn't mean somebody shouldn't be upset about that, just because they have no control over it.
Perhaps the average citizen won't even know about this tournament, but for the fighters involved....the fate of their homes rests on their shoulders. So there is some control there, and I'd imagine that they'd be pretty upset if their universe got deleted.

Well that's a problem to me.
It's a massive in universe problem.
It's the reason the Red Ribbon army would have taken over the world (and they didn't even need the dragon balls to do it, as their army was powerful enough that it was already just going where it wanted to go and doing what it pleased with no one to stop it), and it's the reason Frieza already ruled the universe.
They were just so powerful they could do whatever the fuck they wanted, and anyone else powerful just bowed down and joined them.
That kind of apathy is the reason the only guy who's ever stopped either of them is a Fight crazy Manchild who just came across them by accident and fucked them up because they got in his way / picked on his friends respectively.
That's not right. Zeno rules because he can just do what he wants and there's no one who can even stop him? Fuck the little turd.
One Strip! One Strip!I guess these are gonna be the type of characters who actually care about their existence...
Everybody has to question god, oh well. Hopefully mercy is placed down on the poor fools.
