No joke, I actually thought Zamascreen would be a really cool boss arena on Xenoverse. You would have to fight Zamasu clones while a red laser is coming from the heavens.

It would be hard, but then again, we are facing someone who is trying to exterminate all life on the omniverse. The supreme Kai of time will hate this guy even more than Vegeta does.

It's a given that the episode and finale would be very polarizing, but I'm tickled at how many people seem to be genuinely confused at what happened through episode 67. I mean, REALLY guys?

This is after watching several Youtube reactions. Masako X's review was quite level-headed and thoughtful, which was a surprise, but a lot of others are just "WUT I HAET THIS PLOT HOLZ 111!!!".

All of Masako's videos are pretty levelheaded and insightful. They're quite entertaining to watch, actually. Out of the more public members of TFS, he's easily the only one whose opinion I'd really want to listen to.

Rhythmstyle gives decent reviews and he's one of the few who gives good reasons to Episode 67.

Overall, You Tube reviewers' respond has been weird and over the top. For some of them, this episode ruined the entire arc for them, and it seems because Trunks didn't get a happy ending. Which weird since they've been whining for months about how Super has no stakes, everything is lighthearted, and there're too many Reset Buttons. Or how Zen'o was an instant win button that they could've used at the start.... despite the entire timeline being destroyed. They also called the time stuff confusing, although I understood most of it on my first viewing and they analyzed Dragon Ball all the time.

It's seems the community response have been overall more positive.

Kinda hate to skip over the current discussion but for some reason the Goku kiss joke is really bugging me after it came up again in the manga. I understand Goku is supposed to be childlike and simple but most of the target audience are probably mostly kids with parents who probably kiss. So who is this joke for and what is being implied here? [lol]

I just find it hilarious that looking at the differences between anime and manga, Toriyama notes on the arc must be really vague and not detailed except the part about Goku not kissing his wife. He must really insist on that being included.

They did say he was picky about his gags. Apparently, there is a similar joke to this in Dr. Slump.

I'm pretty sure the whole thing of "Goku not kissing his wife" is just meant to represent how "childlike" he is.

A lot of escorts and prostitutes don't allow kissing because that for some reason is more intimate to them. Goku doesn't want that kind of intimacy with Chi-Chi. The man will up and leave his family for months at a time, after all.

[up]Are you saying Chi Chi is an escort . tongue I thinks the joke weirds me out because it feels so weird .Goku is married and has two children. Of all the times to play up his innocence you choose kissing his wife? They've already had sex . XD

The person who does the Super manga actually said that Toriyama isn't picky about story details. But he is particularly about the gags and even redrew one of the panels.

Huh. Didn't know he redrew a panel.

That might mean he's not too upset about how Toei handled things.

I mean, we know he gave them only the loosest of notes, so it's not a shock, and the thing about being finicky about the gags has been mentioned before.

[up][up] That actually makes sense. Especially given this series' roots, I wouldn't be surprised if Toriyama was a writer who - even when writing more dramatic or serious scenes - still builds his characters through the humor.

Side note. The character page for Super is all over the place in describing Zamasu's final form.

He's a universal embodiment, no he's a multiversal embodiment, no he's just starting to infect other time lines, no he's assimilating the multiverse, no he just merged with the universe.

What is needed is a consensus.

  • Vegeta: "I got a question."
  • Zamasu: "Is it a riddle? I hate riddles. And mortals."
  • Vegeta: "Are you some sort of super-evolved god that's remaking the multiverse in his image, or just a temporal anomaly that's slowly consuming all that exists?"
  • Zamasu: "Uh... good question. Zeno! What am I?"
  • Zeno: "Well, duh! You're dead, Zamasu!"
  • Zamasu: "Noooooo!"

Well, whatever he is, the entire timeline was destroyed thanks to him.

I mean, he already killed most of the gods anyway, and all the mortals.

Basically nuking the entire timeline was the only choice to kill him for good.

The only question is why Zemo didn't do anything about this before. He didn't even seem to know about it. Isn't it kind of his job to keep order in the multiverse?

That was what popped into my head as well. If Zamasu really was going around killing all the gods, you'd think that, no matter how hands-off a ruler Zen'o is, he'd notice something was up.
