[up](x16) Chi-Chi swinging around that television is a filler scene (or is it). Also, Krillin started out as The Bully towards Goku, then he eventually mellowed out into a Nice Guy.

Anyway, I'm excited to see Goku's mom..I wish Goku actually grew up with his parents.

[up] LOL I guess. I mean, look at Raditz. He (possibly) had no parents, and look what a joy he turned out to be.

Well Chi-Chi still doesn't seem injured during the Cell Games so presumably nothing life threatening happened.

@ 4624 Bulma's Trollface had me dying laughing. Poor Vegeta XD!

[up] Except the poor Ox-King getting injured XD. Why did they have to make her that angry??

Anyway, is anyone looking forward to Goku's mother appearing?

No. It's another case of Goku's whole origin be ruined by portraying his parents as OMG super speshul, and wasting ink on things I don't much care about while the things I do care about in the DBU remain cryptic. The only good thing about revealing Goku's mother is that is spits in the face of the millions of fanfic writers who made their own Goku's mother OC.

I don't particularly care. I'm interested in her design, and I'm somewhat pleased she goes against the many fan incarnations of Goku's mother.

If she doesn't have Raditz's hair, I will come to the conclusion that Raditz simply isn't her and Bardock's kid.

Also, if there is ever an anime adaptation of whatever manga she's appearing in, she must have a deep baritone voice, to explain why Raditz is the only male member of his family who doesn't sound like a twelve year old girl.

Bardock has a bit of a husk to his voice.

Maybe Radditz is a smoker.

I personally think it's just hilarious that Goku's mother, the only named female saiyan we know of in the manga's continuity (Selypa doesn't count, since Toriyama's words here and his recent Jaco manga basically render the Bardock special non-canon), was apparently a totally incompetent weakling who had to be rescued several times by Bardock and was eventually just essentially sent to the kitchen, because she was "not cut out as a warrior". Almost as funny as Bra and Pan being the only half-saiyans to never become Super Saiyans.

I'm actually surprised that people call her a Nice Girl, when Saiyans are known to be ruthless and uncaring people.

Maybe she's where Goku's low....erm..Intellegence, comes from (Maybe hitting his head was just a catalyst as opposed to a cause of why he's somewhat intellectually challenged.)

Q: What sort of person was Bardock’s wife — in other words, Goku’s mother?

A: As for her appearance and such, you’ll find out if you read the bonus comic in the collected release of Jaco the Galactic Patrolman. Her name was Gine, and a long time ago, she fought on a four-person team together with Bardock.

Battle of Gods has been recently released on Netflix in Latin America, and, unsurpisingly,is becoming a hit like it did in theaters.

Really, the fact that Fox still has movie rights(thanks,Evolution...) is the reason there are still no plans for a North American release, isn't it?

It might not just be that. Funimation apparently haven't been able to get the rights for things like the 2008 JSAT special or Episode of Bardock.

So, random question: what's your favorite character design? I really love Pure Evil Buu. His unnatural, sickly appearance and hate filled glare scared the crap out of me as a kid, and the typical Majin Buu features and clothing combined with his grey skin and consumption based transformation make him seem like a stylized Arabic ghoul/demon. It's awesome.

My favorite character design is probably actually Omega Shenron from GT. Neat color palette, those black spikes, neat mix of humanoid and dragon, and I like the seven Dragon Balls embedded in his chest.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!

So I was reading Dragon Ball trope pages- because you know, I do that- and just had to share yet another moment of impressive Yamcha badassery listed in the DB awesome page:

His fight against Tenshinhan is seen by many as one of the finest examples of more serious hand-to-hand combat in the series. It doesn´t work quite well for him, but the fight is very nice to look at and it shows that he is no pushover even for future champions.

...yes... not a pushover... to the future winners...

[lol]

Not to mention the awesome moment involved him being toyed with and effortlessly stomped.

Then there's this:

It may be non-canon by modern standards, but Yamcha fighting Olibu, one of the North Galaxy's greatest warriors, on equal footing in the Afterlife, proves that while he may be far from the Universe's strongest being, he is still a serious contender, albeit a retired one.

Calling Yamcha "a serious contender" for the strongest being in the universe is possibly even funnier than claiming that not immediately dying under the gravity Vegeta was casually training in makes him badass.

The natter explanation for why he always sucked so much is possibly even better in how BS it is:

After getting blown up and getting a hand put through his chest Yamcha lost his confidence as a fighter hence why he was so weak while Tien was able to hold Semi Perfect Cell off for a while. When he fought Recoome and Olibu he had nothing to lose there so he was able to fight with confidence and bring out his fighting power without worrying about something going wrong and him screwing up. Just goes to show what a little confidence can do for a person.

Really guys, Yamcha would totally be able to hold his own against the villains if only he believed in himself and brought out his true fighting power.

That gravity example was just sad. I can't even laugh at it.

edit: And so is the confidence one. When manga Yamcha believes in himself God tells him to settle the fuck down and a Saibaiman blows him up.

I sick of both the Yamcha jokes and the Yamcha defenders truthfully.

It's only barely funny any more. Everybody thinks making fun of Yamcha makes them some kind of comedy genius, and more chumps keep thinking that they can change peoples minds if they just find one thing he did right.

Well they're not, and they can't.

That being said, the Rihanna one was genuinely funny.

Kid Buu. After all of the monsters the Z-Fighters had to face, Kid Buu's design is almost underwhelming, and totally not what you were expecting when Super Buu said he "wouldn't be himself anymore". After a fat version, a buff version, and a power-copier, who expected a child form?

And then he blew up Earth.

But really, since it's just a shorter version Buu, I suppose I just like Buu's design. Evil magic genie and all that. Pink had never been so terrifying. Black-red eyes with no compassion in them.
