Come to think of it: didn't Goku learn to "ignore" the nerves in his tail? He toughened it up so that when somebody grabbed it he wasn't paralyzed. That was when he was a child.
Goku can't even hit Raditz during their battle. Shouldn't Raditz, whose power level is higher, who is a trained Saiyan warrior and presumably fought for several years, have been able to do the same? And yet Goku, battered, was able to get behind him and grip his tail with enough force to cripple Raditz.
Tails are just worthless in this series.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I mean if Goku was able to figure this out, as a child when he really wasn't all that bright I find it hard to believe Raditz, an experienced Saiyan warrior whose entire life is pretty much a Dark Souls campaign, spent his entire life never knowing, or even considering that his tail could be a weakspot and that he should train it up some.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Toyble's doing the Xenoverse 2 manga.
He's the go-to DB manga artist now, ain't he?

Yeah. Capsule Corp comes out with an arcade VR "Dragonball the Videogame" that basically allows for Let's You and Him Fight to an absurd degree. Freeeza, Cell, Baby Janemba, and other villains that Bulma would have no accurate measure for appear inside the game. Some kid named Beat decides to play it.
(At least I assume that was the manga's story, I don't know if the game had one)
Which amusingly explains why the power levels are completely absurd. Bulma/Capsule Corp has no idea who these people are and just borrowed their likeness to make an awesome fighting game out of it.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I don't really like that sort of padding, honestly. It's fake tension, and of all the examples I posted about, it's the one that actually bothers me. If they're struggling to fight, and want to kill this enemy ASAP, why not get serious right away? I remember watching those films in VHS as a kid and thinking "Just transform, you idiots!". They should at least give us a decent reason for holding back.
Case in point, the reason Goku fucks around in Super is because he's portrayed more as a carefree goof. Not everyone likes that explanation, but it's something at least.
Yajirobe's sword > Vegeta's tail.
Goku and Piccolo's special attacks > Raditz who was several tiers stronger than either of them.
Well, those aren't punches
And Yajirobe's sword cuts through Saiyan armour, don't diss, yo.
More like "they play fast & loose with the concept", for the sake of cool fight scenes and moments. They know Trunks is outmatched against Black Rosé note , but if a back and forth 2vs2 team match is the cooler option, they'll do it.
Like I said, I don't necessarily consider that to be a flaw.
It seems Toriyama thinks of Toyble as his successor.

Man, he's so lucky, from fan-artist to official DB artist in just a few years.
Both atrocious pieces of visual and audible fecal matter that made everyone involved with the original series want to wash their mouths of them by creating new movies and a new show with the feel of the original source material. One just happened to spawn an artist who can almost replicate the original art style, though that doesn't say much for his independent storytelling abilities.

Evolution and GT being inspirations for the revival comes at no surprise given the quality of Super.

More like he's in a Broken Base where he's just in one side of it.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

Goku and Piccolo's special attacks > Raditz who was several tiers stronger than either of them.
Correction: Piccolo's Special Attack was > Raditz. Goku fired a Super Kamehameha at Raditz and just got noped.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?
