Really I would only extend that to Bra, maybe, which is currently being called into question.

So I just heard something interesting. Apparently, the whole "mass revivals only cover the last year" bit is a mistranslation and it's actually "if you're reviving a group of people, they have to have all died within a year of each other". Is this true? I've never heard anyone say this before, which is saying something given how much a stickler for accuracy certain people on this thread are (and that's good), which makes me seriously doubt it.

It means they could've revived the city Nappa nuked and the village Vegeta massacred, then. Since all those people died at the same time.

For the first one, they have needed Dragon balls though. And for the second one, the ones making the wish didn't know that those villagers who died weren't killed by Frieza.

I mean they can revive them at any time since the time limit apparently wasn't what we thought it was.

Doesn't it seem weird that Supreme Kai NEVER noticed what was happening on Earth until the Buu Saga despite the fact he's omniscient AND he's supposedly supposed to be watching out for Earth since, you know, that's where Majin Buu is imprisoned? Isn't it weird that Kaioken is never used again despite no canon confirmation whether it can be used with Super Saiyan or not? Why didn't Goku teach his friends Kaioken, Spirit Bomb or even Instant Transmission? How is the steel door to Dr. Gero's lab able to withstand blows from people who can blow up moons at the very least? Shouldn't Supreme Kai have intervened during Goku and Vegeta's fight in the Saiyan arc to prevent Buu from waking up? Vegeta WAS going to blow up the planet after all.

Just because Beerus ordered the destruction of Planet Vegeta doesn't mean it detracts from what is, overall, an inconsistent manga. It was supposed to show that despite the comedic villain that Beerus is, he's still technically a bad guy and a constant threat. Plus, Frieza was going to do it anyway. It's LITTERED with errors, retcons, inconsistencies and that's generally because Toriyama doesn't think ahead. You certainly didn't say "Oh, but that detracts from the Journey to the West theme!" when Radditz retconned Goku into being an alien. You didn't say it was inconsistent when they retconned Piccolo Daimao from a demon into just an alien. I mean, we even had the whole "someone killed by a demon can't move on to the afterlife" thing. Was it just Piccolo's evil heart? Wouldn't that mean any villain killing ANY one of the main cast would immediately stop from moving onto the afterlife? If not, why? Cell had Namekian Cells and was just as evil, if not more so, than Piccolo Daimao.

My point remains. It's just meant to be fun so you can be like "Ah, so that's what happened!" True, there were other ways it could have been done but Toriyama has never been the best writer. It's a continuation of a fun, silly action manga. Just enjoy! ;D

None of that justifies redoing two perfectly fine movies into long, drawn out TOEI typical episodes but otherwise, I think Vados(formerly Ryu) makes a good case for Super. So that's one point for the multiverse posting fan base.

The only thing that really interested me was seeing the other Toriyama characters interact with the Dragon Ball ones though, and I don't get why, given all things he's done, they used Dragon Quest twice.

You're digging at Toei but defending Dragonball Multiverse.

[up][up]The thing you quoted, I have no idea who originally posted it, but being a demon and being an alien aren't mutually exclusive. Piccolo Daimao is an alien demon. He's made from all of the evil in Kami and given physical form.

This is something I see people say a lot and it bothers me.

I wasn't defending Dragon Ball Multiverse, I was defending the posting fan base, or at least one member of said group.

And yes, I get it. Evil half split from god a demon makes. But then, Freezer wants to destroy saiyans out of fear and jealousy isn't mutually exclusive with Beerus wants to destroy saiyans for being hooligans who can't even throw him a proper banquet. The point was...he(she?) made a good point on why super isn't really that bad. It doesn't even cover my issues with super but I don't really think super is that bad in relation to GT or Evolution, even though I think super could be better.

Except that not the point, the point is that King Piccolo is pure evil in the literal sense. He's literally all the evil that formed within Kami pushed out of his body and condensed into its own.

The Multiverse comic doesn't call Beerus a sue. It points out how poorly he was shoehorned into previous events to make him appear to have a greater role in the franchise.

It's not an uncommon writing practice at all, and DBM is well within their rights to criticize it.

And I say this as someone who thinks DBM's story quality is quite poor. I might liken reading DBM to stepping on a nail, but that does nothing to excuse the flaws surrounding Beerus' treatment. It's apples and oranges, also both are rotten.

Sometimes, I have to wonder if they create the dorkiest CaC they can so everyone else feels better about their generic ass character.

There's basic, which would be a generic saiyan in armor, and then there's downright dorky, which is what they create. As in "Gohan looks positively fly when compared to these bozos" kind of dorky.

The big question I have is: since Namekians have a transformation that makes them gigantic, what are the odds of Oozaru being playable? Either Oozaru of the original characters, of Oozaru of your original character.

That is not at all what I said.

I said they weren't being hypocritical (they don't have any characters like Beerus) and that they had plenty of room to criticize.

Because they're criticizing a completely different fault. Pointing out DBM's own faults does nothing to diminish that criticism.

Anyway, the Mercenary Tao pillar does look cool.
