I haven't seen anything that says he isn't able to protect people, he just isn't willing to constantly train in preparation for a Golden Frieza-level catastrophe that may never come and he shouldn't have to be.
This song needs more love.Randomness is upset that Future Mai isn't dead and Future Gohand isn't alive.
No traditional heroes.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I wish Future Mai was dead. I mean, people much tougher than her have been killed by much much less.
One Strip! One Strip! It doesn't even matter how she survival...all that matters is that she's alive and it's disappointing.
It's also amazing, she's my neutral character.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Older Gohan and Future Trunks were my favorite characters growing up, but I was able to roll with it when they weren't the focus or even in the story anymore. Piccollo was number three and he got to be relevant for a long ass time to not be a guy named Goku.

It's just a little sad because Gohan was such an important part of the Z-era. For characters like the humans, their path to irrelevancy was gradual and sometimes unintentional. For Gohan, if this is him becoming irrelevant, it's a sudden push out of the spotlight for no real reason other than they felt like it.
That, and they were saying he was training again at the end of the RF arc, and that made it seem like he was going to make a return eventually.
Don't get me wrong, it makes sense. It's understandable. And it's kind of consistent with how the series goes. It doesn't mean I have to enjoy it.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Nothing much happened here.
Looks like they are taking time to figure things out, and let Trunks relax a bit before letting him return to the future. I like that.
Trunks mentions that Korin is gone in his flashback about Future Mai. This raises the question of what happened to him, since Senzu beans were still around before Future Gohan died. Did Black take him out as well?
I'm also mildly curious as to what became of Future Pilaf and Shuu, but we can safely assume they got ki blasted at some point.
One Strip! One Strip!well not much happened in this episode, so its probably just a breather before shit gets off the rails. I do appreciate we learned how Trunks and Mai met each other in the future, though I guess they're just going to ignore the aging issues. Also, what the hell happened to Future Pilaf and Shu, did they get killed by the Androids...?
I got a chuckle at everyone pretty much telling Goku to piss off when he wants to train with them. And I guess Piccolo and Krillin are becoming Those Two Guys?
Next week we look at Trunks and Gohan and see where that gets us.

....I love how my comment was taken completely out of context.
Guys, I'm not complaining, at all. Like this is the last thing about this arc I care about. I've already kind of accepted that Gohan isn't really relevant anymore when it became apparent that he's been written to focus more on his academic and family side. That's fine, it is what it is. I don't necessarily like it and find it kinda disappointing but complaining isn't really gonna solve anything lol. And its a fictional series at the end of day, I have more justified things to get upset over.
All I was doing was speculating on how the episode might play out, and how it might show some things about Gohan and Trunks.
Jeez, its like the mere mention of Gohan nowadays is a Fandom Berserk Button, I'm sorry for bringing it up... :\
