Looks like it. So much for Gohan training again...
Well at least it could be worse. At least he's not a Mystic Loser.

Yeah, they died at the same time and immediately came back to life.
Zero time has passed during that fight.

The preview for the next episode has Gohan's new life with his family juxtaposed over Future Gohan's and it has a scene where Trunks and Gohan are sitting while the sun is setting. I think people are taking that to be a confirmation that he's done with fighting (I didn't see the episode itself yet so there may be something else).
Personally, I never saw the big deal about Gohan giving up fighting.

This song needs more love. Not so much that it's a big deal he gave up fighting, but why does he get wrecked? Even when he turned into the Great Saiyaman, he was still well above the ordinary human. It's a fighting manga, it's kind of underwhelming when only two of the original cast still fight.
Plus Super the Anime decided to expand his scene when Piccolo took a fatal blow for him and made it seem like Gohan would be motivated to train again.

Especially since Trunks is clearly happy Gohan is alive and happy with his family, something his Gohan never got to do.
People are really jumping the gone on what's clearly going to be a heartwarming episode.
Especially love the scene in the preview were Gohan and Trunks are sitting in the swings watching Pan play in the sand. I don't care what anyone says, that's really sweet.

Nothing wrong with that.
But we all assumed that when necessary, Gohan would be ready to step up. Not to save the day, but to at least be strong enough to protect what matters when he needed to.
I mean, I personally think it'd be nice to have a hero, not a selfish dude who fights for his own enjoyment and purposely drags out the battle in order to get a good fight, even against enemies where being a Spirited Competitor is not a good idea, but I understand that Gohan doesn't need to be a great warrior.
I don't think he needs to be pushed out of the spotlight so hard (why did he need to get weaker when all the other fighters who stopped being frontline dudes haven't, especially since the god powers mean him being maxed out by the Old kai is meaningless anyway?) but I admit, seeing him with his own family is pretty cool.
One Strip! One Strip!.....
Do I want context on that? Or should I just let it go?
One Strip! One Strip! No, shut up, it's always been blue.
I think part of the reason people are upset about Gohan is that a lot of us were the age Gohan was when we started watching the series. We grew up watching someone else grow up, get stronger, and slowly realize his potential. So now when he's shoved into the background to make way for the old men to continue being the best, some of us take it as a personal attack.
And also, part of it is this weird "all or nothing" dichotomy that seems to only exist with Gohan. You can either, apparently, devote every waking minute of your existence to being the strongest, or you can be a fucking loser that everyone makes fun of for being a loser.

So... (and I hate putting it this way, but It Makes Sense in Context):
You can either be A Goku, or a Yamcha?
True, but in this series, third strongest isn't good enough. Either you're the strongest, or you get beaten within an inch of your life by the latest big bad.

To be fair, present Gohan died too, he just didn't stay dead.
