Like he's constantly falling forever for eternity...because that's typically how it looks.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Usually characters just inexplicably know what the form is and calls it that, there's never any convenience when it comes to reference.

The same reason they named Ascended and Full power.
Black doesn't seem to hold a grudge against Saiyans. He's indifferent towards Vegeta and has nothing but respect towards Goku. The only Saiyan he actively dislikes is Trunks and he was willing to settle on trapping Trunks in the past instead of killing him. In fact, when he isn't killing something, Black's general attitude is indifference or mild curiosity.
I mean, the story has a point - without Super Saiyan 3, there's no need to call the lower form Super Saiyan 2. It's just "Super Saiyan, but stronger". I'm assuming that's why Black is mistaking it for Super Saiyan?
It's actually kind of realistic. We've known the names of these forms for years, but Trunks and Black don't. They just assume it's still the power of a Super Saiyan. Not some separate form that needs a different naming scheme.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!I think they're going off of what Toriyama said. Super Saiyan 2 and 3 are just extensions of a regular Super Saiyan, not new forms.
Also, Goku is the one who named Super Saiyan 2 and 3. Before, Super Saiyan 2 was called an Ascended Super Saiyan, or a Super Saiyan beyond Super Super. Goku shortened it to Super Saiyan 2 for Buu and Babidi. He then transformed and said he called the form Super Saiyan 3. Krillin even jokingly called Super Saiyan 3 double ascended.

I wonder how it'd look if Carrot stopped midway during the transition to SSJ3...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Almost...but, Carrot with a mullet...uh, that'd certainly look interesting.
Would it look anywhere near as good as SSJ4 Vegetarian's mullet? I don't think so, he could actually pull it off and still look somewhat cool.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Thing about Dragon Ball: you could have any hair style and color and it'd look cool. A new form could change the hair into a green mohawk and it would still look badass.
You say that as if green mohawks don't already look good...

@Gojira: No, its distinctly SSJ 2 in this episode; last episode, someone just fucked up and used his SSJ 1 style rather than his SSJ 2 style.
The main difference between the two forms aside from the sparks, is the hair is much wild and spiky, and in Goku's case, his stands more on end.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
