Oh right, that is actually necessary clarification.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. In the movie, Goku says he's been going about 80% then loses god not long after revealing so. Beerus gets enraged in that moment and elbows, Goku who starts using instant transmission to keep up. Beerus starts throwing energy blasts, Goku says that wasn't part of the agreement, Beerus says Goku is fighting for his life, Goku gets angry now because of Beerus's casual attitude towards destruction and turns super saiyan...he doesn't realize he's done this or that he's even lost god until Beerus points it out while he's failing to repel a death ball.
At the time, the explanation was that just getting god had made Goku stronger and he was able to continue tapping into by going super saiyan. Then comes saiyan beyond god, super saiyan blue, super saiyan god super saiyan, people get confused. Especially confused when Goku turns into the regular super saiyan form we thought blue had replaced. But then we learn super saiyan blue isn't hard to maintain but takes a lot of energy to for the initial transformation.
Goku already used super saiyan god super saiyan in his second fight with Beerus, the moment he got angry and his power spiked as a super saiyan. It simply wasn't blue yet because he had not mastered it. That's why he turned red again at the end of the fight and had nothing left.
Blue is high on he visible spectrum. When something approaches quickly it appears blue. At the start of the ritual to create super saiyan god everyone is surrounded by blue. It turned red in that case because of the time limit. Red is low on the visible spectrum. That which quickly departs appears red.
Buldogue's lawyerAlso discussed; during the conversation, Page Image Indiana Jones shooting a dude was brought up as an argument. That scene only happens once; most of the time he uses his hands or his whip. Shouldn't a true Combat Pragmatist be using the gun all the time?
To which the answer was that there is a fundamental difference between the narrative saying, "He does this thing which undermines his goal because that's who he is," versus fans going, "What he SHOULD have done is THIS." The latter will always happen in every fight, no exceptions, but Combat Pragmatist is about how the narrative presents his character.
When Goku offers Cell a Senzu, he is actively undermining his side's ability to win and the narrative calls him out on it. When Trunks doesn't kill 18 to keep Cell from absorbing her, it's never acknowledged. He doesn't make a choice not to kill 18; it just doesn't come up. His tactics may be suboptimal, but he's still doing whatever it takes to win the fight to the best of his knowledge and ability.
Just like how there's never a scene where a sidekick asks Indy why he keeps his gun tucked away and Indy explains that it makes the fight more sporting, there's also never a scene where someone asks Trunks why he didn't just blow up 18 and Trunks goes, "Oh, I thought about it, but it didn't feel right. I wanted to give Cell a fair shot at reaching his goal. That would have been cheating."

But yeah - given Xenoverse, I wouldn't be surprised if this would be a Goku from a parallel timeline under the influence of the Time Breakers.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Savor this period. Eventually his name is going to be corrected and then everyone will start using the right one. Get in all your Black Goku jokes now, because they won't make sense this time next year.
Just ask Bills.

Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I'm just sad that, when I search 'Black Goku', it will be folded into 'Evil Goku' and 'Dark Goku' with pictures of the new character instead of all the wonderful fanart made by the African-American section of the fanbase expressing their appreciation for the series by either drawing themselves in Dragon Ball's art style, or Race Lifting the canon characters to give a new perspective and make them more relatable to that demographic.
Black Goku?
Base would have messy hair jumbled into lots of little balls. Super saiyan would have a circular pattern of golden deep waves. Super saiyan three would have a giant golden afro.
But seriously, Goku's birth name is Kakarot. I imagine this black Goku will be an otherwise unrelated phenomenon that Goku was named after, rather than the other way around.
Buldogue's lawyerSo...Super has Jumped the Shark? Was there ever a shark to jump?
Dunno. I guess it depends on execution?
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Again, given that this is time travel, which is explicitly parallel-universe workings, and that Xenoverse has similar anomalies done by the Time Breakers, I'm betting that Black/Dark Goku will be a Goku from another timeline that wound up corrupted by them and gained the power to wreck space and time's shit.

Black is apparently used the same way it was in Japan with Kid Icarus where Dark Pit was Black Pit so in the dub it'll probably be Dark Goku.
