He was bullied into it. He mentions he's been receiving death threats since the movie aired.

Which, in case it needs to be stated, is bad.

Yes, we all know the movies is bad, but sending death threats is tad much.

Oh.

Well that explain why it took 7 years.

Bullying is bad of course, but I suppose 7 years of death threats will make you re-evaluate things.

On the one hand, death threats are bad.

On the other hand, I don't think he received death threats for all seven years all the damn time.

On the other, other hand, if a simple apology could've stopped it, and him going "okay people I did my best, I failed, I'm sorry" wouldn't even need him to be sincere, then he's a dumbass for not doing it earlier.

On the other, other, other hand, artists should stand by their art no matter how reprehensible it is.

On the other, other, other, other hand, that piece of art is Dragon Ball Evolution.

In conclusion, I am not sorry for him, and I don't care about the apology of a man who wrote a screenplay for the paycheck and didn't otherwise give a shit, who even admits he spent years trying to deflect the blame and who admits he understands why people are pissed off but still went and did it anyway.

Besides, even if he wrote the screenplay, someone bought it, people approved of it, people acted it out, people directed it, people funded it - it's not like Dragon Ball Evolution's shittiness is his fault alone. Though I literally cannot comprehend why he chose to write a highschool movie with some Dragon Ball references in it.

People take their anime about men screaming at each other before shooting lasers from their hands a bit too seriously if they need to send death threats over it not being accurate to their childhood.

I don't feel sorry for him; I would be shocked if he didn't receive death threats, but I do forgive him. It's been 7 years, it was a sincere apology, and Dragonball Evolution being absolute garbage is what led to Toriyama being inspired to create Dragon Ball Z Battle Of Gods, Dragon Ball Z Resurrection F, and Dragon Ball Super, all of which I have greatly enjoyed.

Death threats are overkill. When it comes to movies that are merely bad, telling the guilty party you feel like punching them in the face is sufficient.

Granted, I'm not so close minded as to think there could never be a movie that didn't warrant death threats, but it would have to go beyond merely being bad.

And the 1000 ton thing is ludicrous. Revival of F showed base Goku to be stronger than Freeza's true form, and that form was powerful enough to destroy the Earth by pushing down on it. Even with consideration that pushing strength isn't the same as lifting strength, the Earth weighs, like hundreds trillion tons. It's the difference between a bowl of cornflakes and a driveway full of cars. If you can push the latter you should be able to lift the former.

I'm fairly sure that the same people who think that Vegeta can't lift 1000 tons also think Whis isn't faster than light. (Hint: Him being able to just fly from planet to planet? That's WAY beyond Light Speed. In fact, it takes light years to make that kind of journey.

Well, the move is technically called Repeating Death Beams in Zenkai Battle Royale.

[up] Incorrect, it only takes light 8 minutes and 20 seconds to get to Earth from the Sun. Hell, it only takes 5.5 hours for light from the Sun to reach Pluto.

''Battle Of Gods" showed Whis pass through spiral and an elliptical galaxy, back to back, in a matter of seconds. That's a little beyond interplanetary travel(unless the planets are in different galaxies, I suppose)

I think we have a page for this, somewhere. Something like Sci-Fi Writers Have No Sense of Scale, Writers Cannot Do Math, Somewhere An Editor Should Be Fired?

[up]Yes it is, and that's also silly since it didn't evolve shooting death beams, or any other kind of beams, or any sort of repeating motion. It was push and done.

It actually took him like 26 minutes to get from their planet to King Kai's; Beerus himself said that he could watch an episode of anime during that time frame.

Yes, it took them 26 minutes to reach the ultimate destination. That doesn't change the fact the animation clearly showed them passing through two different kinds of galaxies on the way there.

I still think the editor should be fired. Use their salary to teach me Japanese. I remember all the jokes about planet Zebes weighing 4.8 trillion tetratons but from what I've read here, Metroid Prime aint got nothing on Super when it comes to fundamental misunderstanding of scale.

If Whis is that fast then he's faster than light. If Super implied anything else then it's writers are worse at maths than the ones responsible for Metroid Prime.

That or light moves faster in ''Dragon Ball'' world. Take your pick.

Whis is not only faster than light, he's immensely faster than light.

And when I said 'planets', I intended it to mean 'space travel to a meaningful degree'.

Personally, I assume any character worth a damn is faster than Kami's mossy old forgotten ship, which was hundreds of times faster than light.

[up][up]That, too.

At least in Space, where there's a very small chance of them destroying the planet just from moving too fast.

Or maybe they're moving so fast that the universe doesn't even realize they're moving and that's why they don't destroy the world when they move.

Oh, hell, the very concept of blurry line |III|lII| super speed movement they do. You moved so fast no one could even see it? Why does anyone need to see it? Shouldn't that create a lot of wind from displaced air? Don't get me started on the after image!

Derek Padula.

Dragonball scholar.

:/

At first I read "Dragonball Light of Hope. Evolution was made with 30 million and fans hated it. Mine was made with 10 thousand and fans love it." the wrong way. I remember that live-action retelling of History of Trunks, the one with Cell in it. I wasn't impressed.

That was a different movie though. Dragonball Fall Of Men.

This one, Light of Hope... this looks badass.
