You are fools. Chou is a Chinese dynasty, which in Japanese translates into counter. It's a pun that incorporates royalty and, once again, food.

Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan is potentially able to defeat Beerus, provided Goku and Vegeta work together. Chou Super Saiyan is the counter on which the monkey king serves vegetables and beer.

Okay, trying to figure things out, but I think I got it.

  • SSJ - Stage 1
  • ASSJ - Stage 2
  • USSJ - Stage 3
  • FPSSJ - Stage 4
  • SSJ2 - Stage 5
  • SSJ3 - Stage 6
  • SSJG - Stage 7
  • SSSJ - Stage 8
  • SSJB - Stage 9

False SSJ, Legendary SSJ and SSJ4 aren't canon, so they're not on the stage list.

I'm pretty sure I've heard the term "Saiyan Beyond God" thrown around quite a bit, here, and on the Wiki. Beerus explicitly points out that Goku's body adapted to the godly ki, that's why Goku wasn't down for the count when he fought Beerus in the cave.

So, is it just me, or does it seem like Hit is a Stand User?

I was thinking it's more like the Territory Users from Yu Yu Hakusho. That weird field that came up when he took out Frost.

Actually...according to the episode 36 summary for Super, their Super Saiyan form is being referred to as "Chou Sūpā Saiya-jin".

Why not weapons! Why couldn't Trunks use his sword!

Because it's a martial arts tournament.

This goes as far back as the original series; you're allowed to use any type of technique as long as it's a natural extension of your body. It's why Goku was technically never allowed to use the flying Nimbus.

Just watched the most recent episode. Pretty good on all fronts, I'd say.

This is the first time in Super that a fight didn't feel too slow. I'm also liking this relationship between Vegeta and Cabba, sounds promising for future arcs. Another thing that sounds promising: there's a King in Planet Sadala who's supposed to resemble Vegeta. I'm honestly surprised, as I thought Cabba was the King.

And now, we're finally getting to see Hit, with the next episode featuring Vegeta getting his ass handed to him. Good, I kinda missed that grin On a more serious note, I have a feeling Hit is going to stick around after this arc, likely as a villain

Something about there being an intergalactic hitman in the Dragonball universe just sounds so f'cking cool.

You'd think there couldn't be anything unique or interesting, what with alien space pirates that transform into giant apes, or an intergalactic tyrant that wears lipstick, or killer androids from the future, or a pink demon named after a nursery rhyme.

But no, intergalactic hitman.

So Toonami this week had the episode where Androids 17 and 18 are awoken. I have a few questions.

It's interesting that Kai seemed to emphasize that they were cyborgs built from living humans, i don't recall that coming up in the original anime though i knew it was canon.

But what i wonder is some of the questions that Android 17 asked. He wondered, first, why Gero went back to energy-absorption for Android 19. Second, he wonders why, if Gero had mastered perpetual-energy before starting on 17 and 18 without needing to cyborgize people, that he bothered making 17 and 18.

This also ties into the question of why 19 and 20 existed in the altered timeline but not in the Bad Future.

My theories:
-Android 16 was the proof-of-concept for perpetual energy. This doesn't explain why Gero seemed downright TERRIFIED of him getting activated, though.
-After this, he came up with the idea for Cell, a lifeform which evolved by absorbing other beings, and if he created enough of these perpetual-energy machines, they could feed it, but they needed to be biological to merge with Cell, so enter 17 and 18.
-17 and 18 prove unpredictable for use on their own, so he puts them to sleep to await for the coming of Cell. He begins working on Android 19, believing that the problem comes from the perpetual-energy system making their AI unstable or something.
-In the original timeline, Goku's fight against Cyber Frieza and King Cold is much more publicly visible, and Gero realizes that the limits of Android 19 couldn't match Super Saiyan power, so he goes back to the drawing board in 17 and 18 instead. He succeeds in burying more of their humanity (which is why 17 and 18 in the bad future are more brutal), but still fails to make them obedient, and is destroyed when he unleashes them. He unleashes them away from the laboratory, which they never care to find again, leaving Android 16 to sleep in the other timeline.

Well 16 is supposed to be based off of Gero's son, so maybe that's why he didn't want to seem him wake up.

17 also said that his sensors said that 16 was weaker than him but that clearly wasn't the case so I wondered what that was about, too.

I wonder what Dr. Gero has against Amenbo Island. It's not random that he attacked there: that's where 17 and 18 first appeared in Trunks' timeline too.

Cell was not created or even thought up before 17 and 18. Cell was created after those two, he's technically Android 21, and is Dr. Gero's final Fuck You to the universe.

I thought he came up with the idea for Cell originally, it just took him decades to gestate, so he set his computer to do it? Or did the computer come up with Cell by itself based on the data it was picking up from the little spybots?

I always figured 17 thought he was stronger than 16 because he scanned 16 while he was inactive, thus not operating.

Which would fit with 17 being a bit of an idiot.

I remember something about Gero not believing Cell would be completed in his life time. I mean, he was pretty old when he started on him and it took like 17 plus years for him to emerge so I could see that.

The reason he went back to the absorption model for 19 is because he thought they were easier to control but that still doesn't explain why he didn't put his brain in a perpetual energy model.

Presumably, he couldn't put his brain in a perpetual energy model. 16 is 100% pure mechanical and 17 and 18 are both modified humans. Presumably, his body was just unable to endure a transformation like the latter and the former wouldn't work without an advanced AI controlling it, which couldn't work alongside his brain for reasons.

Well, given how wild 17 and 18 acted, I'd guess that he was worried that he would lose what remained of his intellect from power addiction.

Really though, we wouldn't know unless someone managed to ask Toriyama.
