Well, well, well. Shots fired, imagine that.
Let's discuss the purely objective points of good voice-acting and what not.

I was never sure about this, but I always thought it was called Dragonball Kai. In the states we called it Dragonball Z Kai, which always seemed a little redundant.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I didn't grow up with the FU Nimation dub, and I found the general quality of that one quite bland, compared to Kai's. And Young... come on, if you want your planet broker to sound like a cranky library lady...

Frieza is a cranky library lady when you get right down to it. Wears lipstick, has plenty of wrinkles, calm so long as you follow his rules, but turns into a horned monster that will spill the blood of countless innocents if you don't return his things.
I'll own up to that.
Combined with my poor understanding of Light Is Not Good, purple being a shade away from pink, the girliest color ever, the lipstick, and Frieza lacking genitalia, Frieza being a guy was a momentous revelation.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Guys, you're all wrong.
LittleKuriboh is clearly the best Freeza.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!My optimum Freeza voice is probably somewhere between Aryes, Little Kuriboh, and my impersonation of the two.
I grew up with the Funi dub, but it isn't really nostalgia that I like Young more since I watched both Z and Kai. As I said, I just found Ayres to be okay in Kai, but great in RF so I am not bias. Also, opinions. Getting on a chair and shouting, 'Young sucks!' or 'how can you possibly like Young more than Ayres!' or dismissing the preference as just nostalgia, isn't going to change people's minds, and makes you rather childish.
For example, if a fan came in here in said Masako Nozawa is terrible at playing Goku because she makes him sound like a raspy old woman, and Sean is much closer to the way Goku should sound or 'Nozawa sucks!'. I don't think you will take it too well.
Also, I never thought Frieza was woman. I didn't think he was a man either. I thought he was supposed to be a non-gender.

I don't really care. I didn't have a problem with either.
Frieza was a muderous asshole in either version who deserved to get beat up.
One Strip! One Strip! To be honest, I was a bit disappointed when Dragon Ball Z Kai left out the part where Gohan had the daydream-turned-nightmare about Frieza.
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!Trust me, I know. The people on the Kanzenshuu forum despises the Western audience for disliking Nowzawa and accuse them of having no taste and being stupid. I just find it ironic that their complaints about Frieza, sounding like a raspy old woman, is almost the same complaints I have seen against Nowzawa's Goku.
I personally like Nowzawa, especially as kid Goku, but I am kind of mixed about Goku's voice never dropping and I do prefer Sean to her overall, but I have nothing but respect for the original Goku. My main complaint against Nowzawa is that I personally don't feel she should play Goku's entire family, especially Goten who is already a miniature Goku clone. Given him his own voice would had made him somewhat different. I also don't like her Bardock.

I might be the only one who thinks this...but I still thought the new Kai Freeza sounded like a woman.
He's not suppose to sound like one?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.

On the voice acting, I personally love Linda Young and thought she was a great Frieza. I'm saddened she can't reprise her role, but it's because she can't do it anymore and I can live with that. Ayres, I personally thought he was okay in Kai. He wasn't bad, but wasn't as brilliant as some fans of the Japanese version made him out to be because he was closer to Frieza's Japanese actor. With that said, I thought he was brilliant in RF. He captured Frieza perfectly.
Also on Toei and them putting a Z on Dragon Ball after the 23rd tournament, it was Toriyama would recommended Z for the second anime since Z is the last letter of the alphabet and he thought Dragon Ball would be ending soon. So Toei didn't pull it out of their butts.
