It makes sense.
Goku's been keeping fit and keeping his body trained.
Gohan hasn't. Hell he kinda looks like he lost a lot of muscle definition in the years following Buu.
In comparison to Vegeta and Goku, his arms look like noodles now.
Also remember that the last time he did some hardcore training was over a decade ago when he was 11.
Afterwards the closest he got to training was playing with Goten in preparation for the tournament for a little while.
The only reason he became the strongest non-fused character in DBZ was.......because he sat on his ass. It really is unearned.
I feel like that would be even more applicable in Gohan's situation since, as noted, the majority of his power was unlocked without him even doing anything. Easier to waste away.
Of course, at this point isn't it only supposed to be like a few months after Buu? It happening that fast sounds suspect.
*year
at most
Like, he significantly dropped in power more in less than a year from Buu than he did in seven between Cell and Buu.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseIf they wanted to explain it, they could go with something like this:
"Well, I can unlock your potential, but you need to be aware that it comes with a cost. Unlocking a person's potential carries with it certain risks. It gives you access to all of the power you're capable of tapping into, but without training your body to regularly handle it. It's a tool that can carry you very far but it must be maintained. If you don't build on it, training your body to regulate the massive pool of ki you've tapped into, it will atrophy very quickly. If left unchecked, this rapid drain of power can cripple your body, leaving you able to generate far less ki than you had been before.
Frieza understood this. He was unfortunate enough to mutate as he got older, developing far more ki than his body could handle. He spent many of his younger years wrestling with his own strength, doing everything in his power to keep from being buried under the ever-growing well of his own power. However, because of his racial traits, he was able to create power locking transformations that sealed it inside himself and kept it from damaging his body.
Gohan didn't; he accepted an unlock with no intention of maintaining his power and the toll it's taken on him has been disastrous. So let us be absolutely clear: if I unlock your potential, are you going to put in the effort to train your body to handle it before it buries you?"

My parents got married after dating for only a month. I know of a lot of couples that only dated a month or two before getting married. It's not that uncommon.

That's not really weird, but Gohan and Videl were still like 16-17 yrs.
Unless something else happened...

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Super takes place in Age 779.
Buu takes place in Age 774.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — Ultimatepheer@Bacon I also doubt it was 2-3 months ago that she became pregnant.
@Zel Depends on what part of the world you're from. I have never known anyone that has gotten married to someone else without dating for at least a year. And even a year is seen as really fast.
Anyways Super never states that it's occurring 6 months after the Buu Saga. People just got confused because the last part of the recap mentioned that they used the Dragon Balls to erase people's memories of Buu 6 months later. It's very vague otherwise.

You know, something that's always disturbed me for some reason; how saiyan tails just get snapped off.
A prehensile tail is a limb. Presumably one with a lot of nerves in it, especially in a saiyan's case.
I mean, how they just casually get yanked off is kind of nauseating to think about.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerCasually, that'd just be Gohan's.
It seemed like it hurt Goku a lot when Gramp Gohan accidentally snapped his off.
Those are the only two times it happened, two more times cut off.

Well, Gohan was also repeatedly slamming Goku into the ground so I don't think that completely counts. The only person to be fully aware of their tail being cut off was Vegeta and it didn't seem to hurt that much.
I'm pretty sure Goku immediately reacted to it being pulled off, he was rubbing his butt and hopping around in pain.
That's like the type of pain that stings like burns more than anything.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. So I had to wait to properly respond to this, but in regard to all the stuff that's been said about Gohan, I kinda feel like everyone is right.
1) Gohan probably got weaker because he didn't train.
No-one said the Mystic Power-up would go away if he stopped training, but no one said it wouldn't go away. Since the details of it were never given beyond all you power released all the time, it sorta makes sense that he'd grow weaker due to lack of training, since he got that power by, as many have put it, just sitting on his ass.
2) Being weakened so much is ridiculous.
Since the God Power completely surpasses Gohan's unreleased full potential, it makes little sense to nerf him to such a degree. He'd still be weaker than both Goku and Vegeta. It's rather.....unnecessary, so I can understand why people who like him are frustrated. They are going too far in pulling him down.
I'm still hoping there's a point to all this, but there may not be. Even if Toei is trying to develop him a bit, it's meaningless if Toriyama just does his own thing and forgets Gohan. Since he wrote the original versions of Battle Of Gods and Resurrection F and is the one who decided to drag Gohan so far down, I can assume he has no interest in doing anything with him at all.
That's how it is, and we're all just gonna have to deal with it.
One Strip! One Strip!

(shrug) I still think its incredibly stupid and not very well explained.
