Inspired by this thread
, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

It fits Fallen Creator far more than Never Live It Down. I'd rather move the entry there and cutlist the YMMV page on top of that to have a clean slate.
![]()
It dosen’t really seem like Sanzaru was popular to begin with, so I don’t even think it belongs on Fallen Creator. If anything, they seem more like a Scapegoat Creator, especially for their work on Spyro and Tron.

Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!I've heard that Sanzaru actually wanted to continue on Sly Cooper but Sony ixnayed the plan, though I haven't seen too many sources for that. So Mis-blamed could potentially be involved.
I think the situation with Narm.Star Wars has gotten so bad that it warrants its own thread, a full re-write, or an outright cut. Particularly, the page is attracting misuse as a general complaint-sandbox rather than noting examples of failed drama.
Originally, I was going to remove all those Square Peg, Round Trope and then lock it, but I suppose we could lock it now.
What's the limit on using Snark Bait to cram every negative sentiment about a work into an entry? Because this long, long nattery entry under Dark Phoenix is whinging about one single line of the movie:
- Mystique's line "You might want to think about changing the name to X-Women" has been ridiculed as cheap Pandering to the Base. Many fans point out that X-Men is a play on the word human, and has nothing to do with gender. Furthermore, Mystique's justification (that women always save the men) falls flat given how not only did she nearly doom all mutantkind in X-Men: Days of Future Past but also that the franchise itself has a history of not making full use of its female characters in twenty years of movies. If anything, this line comes off as a cheap attempt by Fox to capitalize on the success of Wonder Woman, which came out to critical and commercial success before and during the filming of Dark Phoenix(though in actuality it was meant to be joke to produce laughs similar to Deadpool 2's gender neutral joke). On top of that, being pissed about women needing to save the men when it should be the other way around is the attitude we expect from a male character in a 1950s movie rather than a female one in a 2019 movie. There's just so much wrong with her entire beef with Charles (oh, yeah - making them beloved superheroes that have finally cooled down the public's hatred of mutants is apparently bad now) that this whole movie might've been seen quite differently if not for it.
Axe that entire thing. Snark Bait is for when the work as a whole is snarked about, not one mere line; writing a Snark Bait example for a whole work should take up only one bullet paragraph at most.

I sense another item to be added to Square Peg, Round Trope.
YMMV.My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic S 4 E 14 Filli Vanilli
- Harsher in Hindsight: Back in "Griffon The Brush Off" Pinkie said that Fluttershy was too sensitive to be pranked. Looks like someone's forgotten about that...
- Also from the same episode, Pinkie says "I can take it, but nopony makes Fluttershy cry! Nopony!" Granted, Pinkie Pie wasn't intentionally trying to upset her, but that's still ironically harsh.
Do these seem kind of complainy?

Could it be reworked into Series Continuity Error, Characterization Marches On, Depending on the Writer, or Retcon? Pinkie went from not liking to prank Fluttershy to pranking her.
For the record, she didn’t prank Fluttershy, she was making Innocently Insensitive remarks towards her.

Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread! So, it turns out, when you try to remove all misuse from Narm.Star Wars, it ends up removing entire folders. I give up. Should we just cut list?
I know this should go under the Narm cleanup thread, but this thread is bigger.
Well, you already requested that the page be locked on the Locked Pages thread. Maybe wait for mod feedback on that thread before proceeding?
If the page is locked, you can do the clean-up on the Narm Clean-Up thread and then submit your changes to Locked Pages thread. I wouldn't cut the whole page just yet.

Even if you have to cut huge chunks of the page, if there's anything salvageable, the page shouldn't be cut outright.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall
True, but...
... with such excessive misuse, the entire folder for The Empire Strikes Back was removed, leaving a hole in the page. Also, every example from The Rise of Skywalker was misuse, yet cutting the folder would likely start an edit-war.
Yeah, technically speaking, a page only needs three examples to justify having a page to itself. Obviously, more then three is preferred. But if there's enough examples that it takes up more than a page, it's okay to keep it separate.
Speaking of, the mods have weighed in
on the Locked Pages thread and they reccommend that a cleaned-up version of the page should be made on the Sandbox namespace so it can be moved to the main page and locked in one go.
Honestly, I'd suggest bringing up each folder one at a time on the Narm Clean-Up thread and getting feedback on your changes there. It's a bit of a slow process, but that way you can have multiple people weigh in on your changes.

@ PlasmaPower, if she didn’t prank Fluttershy, then the first bullet point is a shoehorn and should be removed.
I think the second bullet point can stay, but it could use some more context by explicitly mentioning that Pinkie accidentally made Fluttershy cry this episode.
Edit: Actually, looking at the Harsher in Hindsight description, it doesn't fit that. Maybe "Funny Aneurysm" Moment instead.

The section on Acceptable Targets in Supermarioglitchy4's Super Mario 64 Bloopers is mostly alright, but there’s a small section in the part where it talks about SMG 4’s ridicule of anime that says “An all too common occurrence” immediately after the intro. It potholes to both Animation Age Ghetto and Public Medium Ignorance.
Is this kosher? I feel like it’s just complaining that Anime isn’t more recognized, and it has really nothing to do with SMG 4.
“Now! Let us engage in the art of deduction!”
Berserk Button: misusing Berserk Button
Something I wanted to say- back before I even discovered this thread, I removed this example from YMMV.Armitage III for, as my edit reason put it, basically being a Japan-bashing tract. Here it is; did I make the right call?
- Values Dissonance: Misogyny aside, this is probably a big part of the infamous major backstory element: The titular Third-type androids are meant to bolster low Martian birth rates as Uterine Replicators, in other words, a literal Baby Factory; more than that, mass-produced housewives capable of actually raising the resulting children. The bad guys are feminists who have taken over Earth and would rather not be replaced. To the tune of starting The War of Earthly Aggression. And after hearing Armitage scream that she will fight to stay alive, and a reprogrammed D'anclaude assassin android state that he respects this as a "refined" individual, you really should catch yourself before agreeing wholeheartedly and consider the origin of the piece — mega-chauvinist Japan, which has something of a complex about their declining birth rate, and a common conservative complaint is that women working jobs instead of acting as homemakers is to blame for it.
The entries for How I Became Yours and My Immortal on the Establishing Series Moment page sound more like (harsh) critiques of the works in question rather than descriptions of how they convey their tone and/or setting early on. For reference, the same page has a completely objective and unironic entry for The Prayer Warriors. I haven't read either of the two works, so does anyone who has know how to convert them into proper examples?
<(0_0<) <(0_0)> (>0_0)> KIRBY DANCEWhat do you guys think of NeverLiveItDown. My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic? I bet a good chunk of these examples are just knee-jerk complaining and the character’s actions are barely discussed after a while.

Sanzaru Games
That’s the only trope on the page, which violates Real Life NLID requiring 25 years. I’m gonna cut-list it page because its only purpose is the bashing that creators aren’t allowed YMMV pages over. Any objections?
