Inspired by this thread, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

Unfortunately, his editing was so prolific that systematically reverting every page he touched is impractical.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"- "The Ending of the End" has series-long theme of redemption and second chances completely shattered with the final three villains (one of whom was a literal child whose mind was still developing) being subjected to a horrifically cruel Fate Worse than Death.
I intend to cut as 1. "redemption and second chances" was for those willing to accept them, those villains did not 2. that's not the Aesop of the episode 3. the troper who added it has gotten into an edit war relating to this here. Objections?
I find this Squick example on YMMV.The Nostalgia Critic questionable:
- While he didn't get to that point and it went into Queer People Are Funny instead, the anvilly Call-Back to Spooning With Spoony in "The Strangest and Best Couples" has an unsettling "victims become the abusers" intention.
Sounds more Fridge Horror-ish, I'll delete.
NeverLiveItDown.Video Games has a lot of complainy sections, most notably a huuuuuuge entry for Fallout 76.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Admittedly that game was super controversial and keeps on finding new ways to disappoint (like the recent $100 subscription fee). It's a trauma conga line at this point.
It's the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise entry that seems excessive to me, by far the longest entry on the page.
Three questions:
- Does Never Live It Down have a minimum time requirement like tropes such as Overshadowed by Controversy do?
- If so, does Fallout 76 fall before or after it?
- I thought Never Live It Down had become In-Universe Examples Only. Though I don't see it in the page itself.

If it's IUEO, then this TLP draft is pretty pointless.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessNo Recent Examples, Please! only mentions time limits for Sports and Real Life, but it doesn't say anything for other media. I wonder if things like a video game's reception would fall under real life, since the description of Never Live It Down seems to be more focused on characters doing something that they're going to be reminded of for a long time.
I don't see why it wouldn't count. You can't say something have lived X down when they've barely had time to live X down
maybe that's the result of the IUEO discussions I remember seeing.

...I mean, I would like to have Never Live It Down have a time restriction to prevent shoehorning and Speculative Troping... but I'd honestly rather just make it IUEO and NRLEP.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand! The fact that Real Life and Sports are the only parts of Never Live It Down with a waiting period makes me think that the other sections are meant to be in-universe examples only. Granted, I haven't been following Never Live It Down super closely, so I may be mistaken.
Never Live It Down was brought to the Real Life cleanup thread last year or so, and it was decided to keep real life examples because of the 25-year time limit.
But yeah, No Recent Examples, Please! doesn't apply to Never Live It Down examples from works.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. You are mistaken. It's not IUEO.
Keet cleanupFallout 76 is a year old at this point, so isn't it past the time delay for both Never Live It Down and Overshadowed By Controversy? I thought those were only 6 month waiting periods.
The recent flare up is because new controversy arose on top of it's disastrous launch (the paid subscription), so do you treat that as another symptom in a history of problems or as it's own separate addition (and therefore too recent to add)?

I'm not that familiar with the Fallout series, but I do know that Fallout 76 had a dedicated Internet Backdraft page before that was made Flame Bait.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. Are these actual memes or just stealth complaining? From Memes.Pokemon:
- DID SOMEONE SAY KANTO! Explanation
- Game Freak's Charizard obsession Explanation
- Put Charizard in everything Explanation
- NANDO VS PLOT explanation
The Charizard examples are memes. I don't know about the others.
"Did Someone Say Kanto" looks like complaining to me.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportYeah, people have definitely noticed the attention Charizard gets from Game Freak.
I do agree that the bullet currently acting as a header for the Charizard memes looks like complaining, though. Personally, I see references to Kanto as akin to how other Nintendo-published series (Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and Kirby come to mind) frequently reference their own first installments.note It's where those series started; I'm sure even the company has nostalgia for it.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. While the "Did somebody say Kanto?" does look like complaining, the ones involving Charizard should be kept since the fandom frequently jokes over how much attention Charizard gets. Editing Charizard to resemble other Pokemon is also something I've seen frequently.
Okay, I can guarantee there are a lot of fans out there sick of Kanto references (me included), but I'm not sure that qualifies as a meme rather than "a complaint that gets brought up a lot". I could go on all day about why I personally think Kanto-shoehorns are bad, but I'd just be whining, not "memeing", so I agree with removing it.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI second that the Kanto one is complaining (and it ignores that other regions are getting some love, like Zigzagoon for Hoenn).
Charizard however does seem like a meme now, as I've seen mutations of it (like drawing the new starters final evolutions as Charizard clones).
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! has a lot of entries that are just "People Mad because it replaced Tower of Terror". Several are for in-fandom- only tropes, I believe. How many of them should be jettisoned for shoehorning/misuse?
I always had the impression there was a systematic cleanup of using quote pages for complaining (particularly complaining on tropes that are supposed to be IUEO) after johnnyfog got banned. If there wasn't, then there really needs to be, because the guy was prolific and I don't think he's the only one to have ever done it.
