Inspired by this thread
, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

Here are a couple of entries on Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends that I would like to discuss.
- Designated Villain: While Bloo is a huge Jerkass and anyone who says that he deserves a harsh punishment has a legit argument, he does have moments of falling under this trope:
- "Beat With A Schtick": Despite the fact that Bloo had every right to be scared that the Big Scary New Guy was going to hurt him badly, none of the other residents (including Wilt of all people) side with him simply because he made a bad joke about The Big Scary New Guy's height.
- "Challenge of the Super Friends": Bloo's expected to be the bad guy for joining Nemesis, but that only happened after Mac joined forces with Imaginary Man, an imaginary friend he barely knows, and left Bloo to build a treehouse all by himself.
- "Nightmare On Wilson Way": Bloo had simply wanted to play some Halloween pranks and that was apparently a good enough reason for everybody to make it look like they've succumbed to a Zombie Apocalypse and have him unleash a sugar rushed-Mac onto some innocent trick-or-treaters which he gets in trouble for.
From what I've seen from watching each of these episodes, I not so sure that Bloo was even meant to be totally unsympathetic in either of them. And he certainly wasn't what I would call a "villain", except for "Challenge of the Super Friends", but even then, it was clearly just a façade.
About the Ahsoka bit, I think the first one should stay, maybe with some rewording.
I should also point out that the original "theory" referred to it as the "Veil of the Force", when it has never been called that in any official material. Heck, I don't even remember "Nexus" being used anywhere either
This is on Dragons' Den:
- Screwed by the Network: Series 9 of the UK version was enjoying the show's best ratings ever. Then it was moved an hour earlier in the schedules. Then it was shifted from Sunday to Monday for no reason whatsoever.
This doesn't explain how this was intentional sabotage or if it hurt the show. Wikipedia has the show's ratings
, and we can see that Series 9 and 10 does seem to suggest a steady viewership decline, but it recovered pretty quickly after that and the show is now on Series 20 with remarkably stable viewership. I think this isn't an example.
We actually have a thread for Screwed by the Network somewhere, but yeah I agree it doesn't seem to fit.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallPiranha Part Two: The Spawning
- Memetic Badass: The film had been gaining an ironic amount of praise with the release of Avatar: The Way of Water mostly due to Avatar's already large hatedom. With many calling it an "underappreciated gem in James Cameron’s filmography".
This seems to be misuse and complainy right? And kinda mean since it was his first film ever.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Bringing this up from Left Hanging's Live-Action TV sub-page. The writing here is way too snarky and is a zero-context example at that. Can somebody who remembers the show provide a re-write?
- Seems like we'll never find out now what was going on with that damn spy pen in Veronica Mars...
Bringing this up from the YMMV subpage Wayside. This entry seems very whiny and needs a bit of a cleanup.
- Suspiciously Similar Song:
- The show will often play what is essentially not even this trope, but essentially an exact cover of Eye Of The Tiger
by Survivor, but with the chords changed
.
- This background track
that sounds similar to "Just Can't Get Enough
" by Depeche Mode.
- Another background track
sounds slightly similar to "We Like To Party
" by the Vengaboys.
- Even more egregiously, this background track
sounds almost exactly identical to the intro of "Respect
" by Aretha Franklin, even being in the same key.
- The show will often play what is essentially not even this trope, but essentially an exact cover of Eye Of The Tiger
Here's a rather complainy They Changed It, Now It Sucks entry on YMMV.Tiny Toons Looniversity. I've left the Twitter cartoon community (and Twitter as a whole) so I don't have much to go off of at all, but from what very little discussion I've seen, it seems that aside from some choppy animation and Buster and Babs being siblings the show is generally well received. Correct me if I'm wrong and this is a real complaint going around (it will still need a less complainy rewrite).
- Some characters feel like a shadow of their former selves such as Babs no longer doing wacky impersonations and Buster no longer being the coolheaded, laid-back character he was in the original.
I'm starting to wonder if we outright need a TCINIS cleanup because it feels like it has been misused a lot lately. In fact, I outright wonder if it should maybe get a less aggressive name to deter the misuse. If it ever gets to TRS, let me know.
Edit: entry has been rewritten and is no longer written in a complainy way.

Is it just me, or is this point from Funny.Caddicarus Other concerning Ride to Hell: Retribution a bit too bashy?
- The fact that Caddy is playing one of the modern day whipping boys of video games.
This, as far as I can tell, has nothing to do with why the playthrough itself is funny. It just seems like shoehorned complaining about the game, not to mention a ZCE. Also, this page is the first I have ever heard about this game, so "modern day whipping boys" feels like a bit of a stretch unless I'm missing something.
Any thoughts, or should this just get the chop?

Yeah, I watched the show and can't even tell you what it's referring to.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallFrom YMMV.Coco:
Including a pothole to Insane Troll Logic for some real-life example(s) isn't very promising to begin with, but this entire entry seems like poorly structured complaining, to the point that I don't even really understand it. Is it worth rewriting or should I just cut it entirely? Your goateed philistine is sashaying towards us. | 🧱
How about this for a rewrite?:
- Ron the Death Eater:
- While no one believes Ernesto was entirely blameless for Hector's death, some blame Imelda for it, since he technically died because he wanted to go back to her and Coco, and she turned her back on him (even if she had her reasons for doing so).
- While Ernesto is already a killer, some fans make him even worse by writing him as a rapist and an abuser as well.
- Hector is also sometimes seen as the bad guy by fans because he left his family to advance his career.
I don't really want to discuss this, but I might as well do it here.
In Characters/Sonichu, it says under one villain entry:
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Even after her Freudian Excuse (having never been loved herself) is revealed to her adversary, he still beats her into a state of paralysis.
A cursory look up from someone whom has never read the comic, shows the protagonist beating up Slaweel (the villain, the above entry is on) is in no way the case at all.
I've noticed a thing with widely hated media where people wil intentionally misinterpret actions of a protagonist from widely hated media to make them look worse on Tv Tropes entries.
This is one such example, as the protagonist hits "Slaweel" (the villain, the above entry is on) with an electric attack and immediately after, she gets up and says "I'm ok, just paralyzed", as the Paralysis status effect symbol from Franchise/Pokemon floats above her.
For clarification, Paralysis in Pokemon is usually caused by electric attacks and doesn't prevent the target from moving, only from attacking their opponent. Paralysis is also easily reversible.
The villain in the entry is even seen literally standing up and walking into a police vehicle immediately after being paralyzed. Regardless of what people think of media, Tv Tropes shouldn't push blatantly incorrect info on a work, that is my opinion anyway.
Here's one rewrite that can work.
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: She reveals Freudian Excuse is having never been loved herself.
Or
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: She reveals Freudian Excuse is having never been loved herself and as a result, the hero holds back on her.

I feel like most of the YMMV page for Peter Pan & Wendy just consists of people complaining about it, instead of doing something more productive.
What exactly does "productive" mean here?
Looks like Unity is currently undergoing a controversy, and someone just mentioned it by adding it to the main page. Opinions?
Eh, good enough.I think the policy change is worth mentioning since it can affect their output, but all the backlash and mentions of death threats feels irrelevant.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

Okay I removed it with a link here.
