Inspired by this thread
, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

About the Enforced Plug synopsis from earlier: looking over the page, it's not just that portion that's complainy. The real life section of the page is very complainy and often talks about how corny or intrusive the ads are, compared to the in-universe/parody section.

I mean, sure, we can give the page a rewrite. I just object on principal to saying it's not a "proper page". It's certainly not so bad we can't salvage it without a cut.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallSorry I was talking to Warjay about Evony
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."FWIW, I'm going to cut down the complaining on the Sonic X pages by The Super Blackwing 1 and have reported the situation on Analysis.Sonic X to ATT here

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. This isn't exactly complaining, but I don't know where else to put it. Recently added to repeat offender when it comes to things I have to report here YMMV.Sesame Street, under, shock of all shocks, They Changed It, Now It Sucks!:
- The removal of the classic "Sesame Street has been brought to you by the letter ___ and the number ___. Sesame Street is a production of the Children's Television Workshop" and instead after the final "Elmo's World" there's a quick cut to the end credits where the Muppets sing a good-bye song during them.
This is near incomprehensible grammar wise, and I've never seen anyone criticise this before, so it could just be the troper's (~animefan42) weird issue. I am active in both the Muppet fandom as well as the logo community, which knowing others in said community would probably pay more attention to this than most even though it's not a logo. Permission to cut?

She/her. Profile pic is by Richard Michael Gomez @StarmansArt. Please watch Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock. https://youtu.be/Vm92JNgPbqkWhile it does look like a change that could cause outrage within a fandom, if there's no evidence of it, it can likely be cut.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)I found this under the recap page for King of the Hill:
- "Jon Vitti Presents: 'Return to La Grunta'": Luanne and Hank both face sexual harassment at a hotel resort: Luanne keeps getting groped by lecherous golfers (one of which is voiced by modern-day voice acting virtuoso Billy West) during her job as a drink girl while Hank is molested by a horny dolphin (which, despite feeling like some cheap human-on-animal rape joke that would be at home on the Simpsons episode "Homer vs. Dignity," does happen in real life) and is paid off with hotel merchandise to keep from reporting the incident.
That feels a bit like an unnecessary jab at that episode of The Simpsons but I'm not too sure.

That's such a massive aspect of the show in pop culture (even named one of our tropes) that I'd be surprised if people didn't get mad over its exclusion. But maybe the people who would get angry just didn't notice it.
x 3 How about "...which, as crazy as it sounds, is Truth in Television", or should we just get rid of it entirely?
Get rid of the bolded part. And on the flip side, cut the "modern-day voice acting virtuoso" bit for being gushy (as much as I adore Billy West, recap summaries should be short, sweet, and objective).
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. From Star Trek: Strange New Worlds:
Win Back the Crowd: After the rather divisive reception to Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard, fans clamoring for Captain Pike to get his own show have expressed great excitement at seeing their wishes fulfilled.
maybe it's my own annoyance at all the backhanded "this is so much better than Disco and Picard" compliments of Star Trek: Lower Decks YMMV, but it hasn't even come out yet? same for Author's Saving Throw.
Honestly, how do we know it will Win Back the Crowd before it's even been released? Cut away I say.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meFrom YMMV.Vikings Valhalla:
Personally I'd rewrote the entry like this and put it either under Cowboy BeBop at His Computer or under Common Knowledge:
- The reaction to casting Caroline Henderson, a woman of African ancestry, as jarl Haakon, predictably stirred up disapproving reaction from history buffs. Several vloggers created videos about the "real Jarl Haakon". However, most of them erroneously assumed the character to be a representation of Hakon Sigurdsson, who died before the events of the series. The historical Haakon who was alive by that time was his grandson, Hakon Eiriksson. In any case, when the series was released, it was obvious that jarl Estrid Haakon barely resembles any historical or saga figure at all. It's unclear if there was any serious intention from the writers to make her a representation of a historical figure.

Creator.Matthew Waterhouse has a lot of complaining. What should be done?
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallFrom TierInducedScrappy.Pokemon GO:
- Pokémon with horrible moves. Recently, Niantic seems to like to give new Pokémon incredibly horrible moves as if they know that they are horrible, downplaying even Pokémon with incredibly high stats. For example, Staraptor has the same attack as Machamp but was given Brave Bird, which is OUTRIGHT ATROCIOUS in this game. Another example is Melmetal, who is pure steel but does not have a STAB fast move, and its sole STAB is in fact, Flash Cannon, which is again, atrocious. Probably the worst one is Giratina's Altered Forme, it has induced a Hype Backlash thanks to getting Shadow Sneak as its Ghost charged move. Be noted that Shadow Sneak is one of the worst charged moves in the entire game and can invalidate even Gengar, should it have that.
The reasoning seems to be “these moves are bad because they are bad.” The example seems too general and just an excuse to complain.

Do the multiple examples mean nothing?
