Inspired by this thread
, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

A twist being foreshadowed doesn't mean it's good or enjoyable.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallPoint is Brian, people hated the twist. It's YMMV. You can't contest the validity of a popular opinion.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallYeah, IIRC a significant portion (if not the vast majority) of the fanbase didn't like that twist, me included. Especially since in the end Discord just became a Karma Houdini.
The entry may be a little bashy, but nothing a little tweaking can't fix.
You mean you don't think Discord suffered enough? Because this entry says otherwise.
- In "The Ending of the End", he did truly have the best intentions in mind, but it still was reckless to release dangerous villains putting Equestria at risk and not keeping better watch over them. This leads to losing his magic, his friends deeply upset with him and being mistreated by the villains by being dragged on a chain. He does however come to realize the extent of how badly he has messed up feeling genuine guilt and remorse over this and ends up risking his life to make up for it, managing to be forgiven by the ponies, so in that way he gets positive karma as well.
The point is that a significant chunk of fans held this opinion and we can describe that in an objective way. Whether you agree with those fans isn't quite relevant.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.![]()

Maybe Karma Houdini is a bit of an exaggeration, but IDK, it just seemed to me like he got off a bit easy for nearly dooming Equestria. Especially since he actually got his wish of helping turn the villains to stone in the end. But then again, after thinking about it, he did help free everyone else from the trio's prison, so that at least counts. It's been a while since I saw the episode so I might be forgetting some details, and I haven't seen the episode that came after it.
But anyways, that's beside the point.

From YMMV.Mobile Suit Gundam SEED:
- Broken Base: The HD Remaster has also spawned this several times over.
- First is the matter of Nicol's death, which was retconned in the Remaster to make it appear largely accidental. In the original, he attacks Kira and dies when Kira reflexively counters. In the remake, he attacks Kira and dies when Kira dodges, because the attack carries him into Kira's sword anyway. Here's a comparison video
. The base is split over whether this is an example of Adaptational Self-Defense and an attempt to make Kira less responsible for his death, or whether it's a minor choreography change that doesn't really mean anything.
- The HD Remaster's English dub has divided fans. Aside from people upset that SEED got a second dub before several classic Gundam shows that haven't gotten any dub note , there are people who are fine with the dub having an entirely new All-Star Cast and people who would have preferred the original cast to return, finding the new performances disappointing compared to the original. In terms of production, some argue that it's an even more polished dub that features performances and pacing more consistent with the Japanese original. Others take issue with poor production quality, such as using the Japanese broadcast version instead of the BDnote , poor dialoguenote and some strange name changes note , and certain additions to characters being made note . And then in addition to quality there's its availability; if you want to buy the Blu-ray set, it currently only comes bundled in an Ultimate Collector’s set that's priced at over US$200 or is only available for streaming on Funimation, a streaming service that has various issues. At the very least, the Ultimate Edition does also give fans the option to have both dubs, but again, it's largely gonna come down to taste and how much money one is willing to throw at this thing, especially if one wants the original in HD.

Do you think this may need to be trimmed down to remove any potential complaining?

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. This was added to YMMV.Sesame Street, and forgive me if I'm wrong but it gives me bad vibes.
- Play With Me Sesame sounds almost too good to be true. It's a vignette-styled spin-off featuring an All-Star Cast of some of the most universally appealing and comedically sophisticated Muppets, being Ernie, Bert, Grover, and Prairie Dawn; sometimes guest starring Cookie Monster. So, what's the catch? ...It's meant for even younger audiences than base Sesame Street, which takes away from the all-ages appeal those four Muppets had to begin with.
The trope is They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot for the record. The entry is just complaining. The show is literally a preschool show. I remember watching it when I was 3/4 years old. Cut.
This entry is on the recap page for the Doctor Who episode Logopolis
:
- A Million Is a Statistic: The story involves the destruction of one quarter of the entire universe; by even the most conservative estimates that's a single-episode death toll expressible only in standard notation. And not only does nobody seem to care (including one character whose home intergalactic supercluster was destroyed note ), the villain responsible gets the full Draco in Leather Pants treatment despite being responsible for one of the most horrifying massacres in the series. (Though in all fairness, it was an accident this time.)

Removed the Sesame entry above. The same page also has this "lovely" Dork Age entry.
- The HBO/HBO Max seasons are the biggest game-changers in the show's history. Sill trying to figure out a much more abridged running time, cramming in a ton of segments (including the return of the dreaded Elmo's World, albeit much shorter now), making the street stories a lot more childish than mature, attempting to stay relevant and repeating the same few segments ad nauseam.
How dare the children's show... appeal to children. I have seen people in the Muppet fanbase dislike the current seasons, but never this much. Permission to cut?
She/her. Profile pic is by Richard Michael Gomez @StarmansArt. Please watch Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock. https://youtu.be/Vm92JNgPbqkLOL, I loved Elmo's World as a kid. I have no qualms with its return, because I don't need to watch it now anyway.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.![]()
You make a very good point there. That said, the Draco in Leather Pants part does seem a bit unnecessary.

Looking over the YMMV.Sesame Street page I see some other iffy entries on The Problem with Licensed Games and The Scrappy (specifically the last point about the military kid). I haven't kept up with the show enough to help out, though.
For a Win Back the Crowd entry, the following is certainly complain-y:
- Win Back the Crowd: Mainly due to the fact that it's an in-house Nickelodeon show not based on a pre-existing property. The network is criticized for relying too much on existing IPs, particularly ones that were Adored by the Network and/or are Cash Cow Franchises (such as Rugrats and iCarly getting their own respective reboots, The Loud House getting a spinoff in its first three years, and SpongeBob SquarePants getting two spinoffs in 2021 alone) and not giving original ideas a chance (particularly when previous Nicktoons such as Glitch Techs and It's Pony got Screwed by the Network in different ways).
It only provides small doses of relevant information, and the rest of the entry is spent complaining about Nickelodeon, to the point that the first sentence comes across as Damned by Faint Praise.
It's from Middlemost Post. I've cut it for being shoehorned complaining about the network disguised as a WBTC entry.

"No foreshadowing?" What about Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy glow planning to betray "Grogar" beforehand, and Discord's last line in "The Summer Sun Setback"?: "You know, it really does seem like you just might be ready for whatever comes next, your Majesty."
