Inspired by this thread
, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

Are people okay with me going ahead with the Troubled Production clean-up on Trivia.RWBY?
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.I've gone ahead and implemented the rewrite.

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Trivia.The Emoji Movie has this pointless entry that reeks of weebery:
- No Export for You: Averted like bloody hell in Japan, at least on home video, as the movie was shown there in 2018. This is especially relevant for two reasons:
- Since the movie was a critical disappointment in almost every Western country other than the U.S. and the U.K., and taking into account the emoji phenomenon was created there, and not to mention Japan is the home country of the media conglomerate Sony (Which Sony Pictures Animation belongs to), no one expected the movie to shown there, out of fear of smearing the reputation of the whole phenomenon there, not to mention Sony's, and...
- And as if this wasn't enough, it was announced the Japanese dub will have an All-Star Cast of many well-known Anime voice actors. Cue the 😨 face of many anime fans. Even Anime News Network, who also comments about Japanese dubs as well, especially from well-known Hollywood films, was deeply surprised that this movie has gotten a Japanese release with a stellar cast.
Permission to torch?

Came for the tropes, stayed for the cleanup.
All complaining, uses an emoji in a trope example (which is not allowed) and the Emoji Movie pages are (eventually) getting a cleanup courtesy of this thread anyway.
Slice and dice.

Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper Wall
From what I gathered from either the Random Thoughts thread or Things You Recently Learned thread, it is possible to put emojis here (through using an emoji site or just the emoji text part on your phone). In the preview mode tho, it'll be garbage text. Then again, this could be different for trope pages.

CG for short
It is different for trope/work pages. One of the writing tips you can get when you edit is literally something like "No emoticons. TV Tropes is not a chat room." I assume that applies to emojis as well.
😀
See, that worked (it’s just a single Unicode character), but showed up as garbage characters in the preview. Emojis also work on the wiki (and do show in the preview), but don’t belong on the wiki.
And yeah, cut the No Export for You example, since it’s not even an example of there being no export.

Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project! This entry on YMMV.Jellystone.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Fans who were familiar with the classic characters are outraged by a significant number of male ones being Gender Flipped instead of simply using already established female characters, considering it as a poor excuse at a Gender-Equal Ensemble. It doesn’t help that they were still male in concept art. Nor Word of God claiming them Transgenders.
I'm a big fan of this show. This is more of a case of Broken Base, not "outrage". Many people, including me, really like the new versions of the characters. Also, them being "transgenders" apparently making it worse leaves a bad taste in my mouth (and Word of God didn't confirm anything. Some board artists definitely headcanon it this way, but no actual proof like say, the shown in show crush Mildew has on Shazzan or the actually Word of God confirmed relationship of Johnny Quest and Hadji).
In fact, lemme just say it outright: I'm tired of They Changed It Now It Sucks misuse. That trope needs some help, like more rules or regulation.

When there's a dip in critical response? I always assumed it was a criticism of overly narrow fan complaints, but the other "Now it Sucks" items don't seem to be like that.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. They Changed It, Now It Sucks! is strange to me. Most of the examples I’ve seen seem sympathetic to the fans they’re describing, but the description itself starts off by mocking fans, only to then go into a lengthy list of reasons why they might be right.
Either way, cut the Jellystone! example.
Maybe rewrite it and move it to Broken Base.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread! We should just ask about touching it up in the Trope Description Improvement Drive
thread.
The YMMV.Jellystone They Changed It Now It Sucks entry was readded and changed to be more neutral, but I'm still leery on the audience reaction as a whole. A questionable It's The Same Now It Sucks entry was also added (the Banana Splits are more sharply Broken Base than the gender flips, but it isn't as universal as the entry makes it seem, nor as dark cause they're pretty unserious and humorous villains).

She/her. Profile pic is by Richard Michael Gomez @StarmansArt. Please watch Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock. https://youtu.be/Vm92JNgPbqkThis is on Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood:
- Fandom Rivalry: An unfortunate one with fans of Word Party- due to Netflix dropping this (along with several 9 Story Media Group shows) from its lineup shortly before premiering the former, several parents blamed the former as the reason "Netflix cancelled Daniel Tiger" on Netflix's Facebook page.note
My problem is the note, at least the last line of it:
Ultimately, this turned out to be a severe case of Mis-blamed- it turns out that the real reason was that Amazon had snatched the rights for streaming PBSKids shows out of the hands of Netflix
. However, isn't this supposed to be illegal in the US and the FTC should move to block these kinds of deals?
From NeverTrustATrailer.Live Action Films.
- The trailer for Night of the Lepus goes out of its way to avoid showing any Giant Killer Bunny Rabbits, which of course raises the question: if you realize upfront that your monsters aren't scary, why would you still make a movie about them?
A lot of horror movie trailers avoid showing the monster to invoke Nothing Is Scarier, plus it's possible the people behind the trailer weren't the same people who made the film.

Twilight, as one of the older pages on this site, and a popular target of bashing, is in major need of cleanup efforts. I've already nuked most of the Unfortunate Implications section for being improperly-cited licenses to bash, but the page in general could use several looks over.
