Inspired by this thread
, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

Dingo Pictures has this section:
Some traits of Dingo Pictures cartoons:'
- Crude and simplistic animation that looks like it was produced very cheaply.
- Most of them only have a handful of voice actors. In some cartoons, there's only one voice actor. This is, however, strangely not the case in some of the French and Greek versions, which have excellent voice acting.
- The dubs (the English ones, at least) appear to have been recorded in one take, with many flubs and errors left intact.
- Nonsensical and barely-comprehensible dialogue.
- A brief musical theme plays through the entire film nonstop, often loudly. It even plays over other music pieces, and sometimes, over itself.
- Numerous characters often start laughing randomly and silently, usually represented by two frames of animation of a head bobbing up and down.
- Dingo Pictures cartoons are based on Disney or Pixar (or other famous) cartoons or public domain stories with which Disney has made adaptations.
- Most of the animal characters are recycled from cartoon to cartoon. Same for bases of human characters.
- They also recycle the backgrounds and background music a lot.
- The frequent use of profanity, such as "hell", "damn", and "Rubbish".
I mean, literally none of that is inaccurate or exaggerated, but maybe it doesn't need to be brought up?
BTW, I started the Cliche Storm Wick Check. So far the results are...surprising, but maybe the 30 last wicks will change the tide.

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallI found this on Jerkass Realization:
- In the Christmas episode of Rocko's Modern Life, Rocko decides to throw a Christmas party with his new elf neighbors. Mr. Bighead however feels left out when he doesn't get an invitation, and starts a rumor about the elves that blows out of proportion, resulting in no one showing up. Mr. Bighead later finds out that Rocko had in fact invited him, but his invitation got lost in the mail and he's left feeling incredibly guilty. Why Rocko didn't just hand him the invitation directly since he lives right next door though is anybody's guess.
Is the last sentence really necessary? On one hand it does make sense, why did Rocko just not hand over the invitation next door? But on the other that's not what the narrative was going for and it seems more like a sentence nitpicking about how the plot worked.
Remove the last sentence. In addition, potholing YMMV items like Fridge Logic on non-YMMV pages (aside from in-universe examples) like Jerkass Realization is against the rules, per What Goes Where on the Wiki.

I got a rock for Halloween. Are the DC comic run pages on the list? Because there seems to be a lot of article complaining concerning New 52. From the Author's Saving Throw entry on YMMV.Deathstroke Rebirth, for example:
- In fact, the series seems to retcon all of the Wilsons' New 52 history away. To say people won't miss it is an understatement, considering some writers couldn't even get certain characters' names right, let alone their backstories and motivations. And of course none of the New 52 stuff was ever consistent between the different writers.
The New 52 is widely (though not universally) regarded as a company-wide Dork Age. It certainly belongs on the sandbox.
There's this on YMMV.Black Canary:
- Romantic Plot Tumor: Green Arrow and Black Canary's marriage felt very forced to many fans. After leaving the Birds of Prey, Dinah got a miniseries that was supposed to be about her new role as Sin's legal guardian, but in-practice was a lead-in to their then-upcoming marriage, followed by several years of her playing ineffectual sidekick to Ollie in what was supposed to be their shared title. Their relationship became a sour point for many fans because of how it effected her character growth.
- One frustrating problem with the relationship is it is often only to Oliver's benefit, not Dinah's. Oliver's book by-and-large does better when Dinah is around; stories and runs set when they're broken up have rarely faired as well, and the most iconic and successful Green Arrow stories have generally been when he's paired up with her (with the exception of Year One and Lemire's run). Dinah though, thanks to the Birds of Prey (which started life as more-or-less a Black Canary book with Oracle as a supporting character) has demonstrated she can have an lengthy run without Oliver at all, and tends to go through much more character development when he's not around. For some, it can look like her relationship with Oliver holds her back.
I feel like the second bullet would better fit Badass Decay because it just talks about BC being dumbed down, not about how the romance gets in the way. It does feel weirdly complainy though. The YMMV page might be cut anyway because ComicBook.Black Canary was moved to Characters.Green Arrow Black Canary, but I feel like I still need to do something with this for the time being. Feel free to help with the sandbox or edit my troper wall
Given the controversies and potential complaining surrounding Anime.Neon Genesis Evangelion and Anime.Rebuild Of Evangelion, do you think they should be added to the sandbox or is it unnecessary at this point?
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.
Depends. How much complaining is currently on the pages?
Hmm, for starters, maybe we can check out the YMMV pages and main page to see if there's any complaining.
Bringing up Creator.Four Kids Entertainment again since any changes would likely require a major overhaul.

The description for Unrequited Tragic Maiden comes off as needlessly wanky in tone. All of these are accurate descriptions of things that Fan Dumb will engage in, but it doesn't need to be so charged.
StockParodyJokes.Video Games is full of straight-up complaining about games without even explaining how this complaining works its way into parodies. (Then again the entire Stock Parody Jokes item has a problem where people don't really explain how the joke appears in parodies.)
I mentioned this in the Stock Parody Jokes cleanup but it's low on activity.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. There's this paragraph in Konami's folder in ScrewedByTheNetwork.Video Games. Featuring two inappropriate potholes to tropes.

"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”I think the Countdown to Final Crisis needs to be put on the Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining page, as both the main page and YMMV page have some pretty bad bashing, with the former having a bashy title caption under the image.
Re: Creator Drinking Games
We do have a Drinking Game cleanup thread, but that's inactive. Wouldn't hurt to ask, though
.
Found a suspicious remark on asdfmovie's YMMV that I highlighted in bold
- Replacement Scrappy: While the Waffle in asdfmovie12 isn't necessarily hated, per se, him serving almost the exact same role as one of the series' most popular characters, Mr. Muffin, only replacing suicidal tendencies with brain damage, left many fans disappointed, to say the least. He was quickly retired after only two scenes... so far.
I don't think the bolded part is really necessary. It feels like it's being paranoid about the waffle becoming a Creator's Pet, which is unlikely because the waffle hasn't appeared since ASDFmovie 12.
Found this old entry on AndTheFandomRejoiced.Young Justice relating to season 3 that feels like an excuse to complain about Barbara Gordon's treatment by DC:
- Hey it's Nightwing, but who is he talking to? Did-did he say "Oracle"?! YES! We're getting Oracle for a whole season, instead of one episode of The Batman and a stinger for those who kept watching "The Killing Joke" after the unrelated, unneeded prequel no one asked for.
I know ATFR is subjective and this isn't relevant anymore anyway (season 3 came out in 2019), but I feel like this needs a re-write.

I have added the work to the complaining cleanup sandbox.
