Inspired by this thread
, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

It already has been. It's a valid item and all, it just attracts bitter edits.
YMMV.The Legend Of Korra seems to be very anti-Unalaq. I know The Scrappy is an item about character reception, but it just tears into him. In fact, most of the items about fan reception of the show seem biased against it.
The example doesn't seem that bad..? I could be wrong though, that said, I'm pretty sure this example is misuse because The Scrappy is for characters that the fanbase hates, not for characters they find boring.

Feel free to help with the sandbox or edit my troper wallFrom Felony Misdemeanor:
- In an episode of the Narmtastic show 7th Heaven, a Totally Radical wigger calls Lucy a bitch. For the rest of the episode, using the B-word is likened to raping someone. But, since this is 7th Heaven we're talking about, it turns out that the bully was just hiding behind a "jerk act", pretending to be mean to fit in with the cool kids. Cue the Anvilicious Aesop about not giving in to peer pressure.
The example looks legitimate (treating use of a swear word as a major offense), but the constant reminders of the show's "cheesiness" are suspect.
The page is In-Universe Examples Only, anyway. And I don't know if that's "in-universe".

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Alright so the Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining sandbox is getting pretty long. Is anyone opposed to me going through the smaller pages and cleaning up the complaining so as to shorten the list?
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallAlright so I'll start with Ghost Dad, since it's a smaller page.
What should I do about the following complain-y entries?
From Main:
- Skewed Priorities: Apparently, death is like hiccups, since Elliot decides getting a business deal done is more important than, you know, reconciling he's dead.
From YMMV:
- So Bad, It's Good: Even if it's only because you're laughing at how bad it is.
I'll go through a few others at their dedicated cleanup threads.

Skewed Priorities sounds valid but needs a rewrite, and So Bad, It's Good is a huge ZCE.
The So Bad, It's Good example is hilariously redundant. Might as well just have put the trope title and added nothing else. I don't know if it qualifies, I'm under the impression that it's kind of an infamous movie, but if it does it needs an actual explanation.

Alright, an attempted rewrite for Skewed Priorities (from someone who has not seen the film:)
- Skewed Priorities: In the film, Eliot is more concerned about getting a business deal than trying to work out the circumstances surrounding his own death.
Not a fan of my own rewrite but what does everyone else think?

Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallAlright, final entry from Ghost Dad I need to clean up. What should I do about this entry, specifically the second bolded portion?
- Our Ghosts Are Different: The ability to become a ghost after death is genetic. Like haemophilia or sickle-cell anaemia. And you don't have to be dead.
- Apparently, spirits dissipate from view under strong light, but the film's very dodgy continuity issues make it unclear as to how this works or just how much light is needed; how vulnerable Elliot is depends entirely on the scene in question.
Should I cut the second bullet, or rewrite it?

I’d just do this:
- Our Ghosts Are Different:
- The ability to become a ghost after death is genetic. Like haemophilia or sickle-cell anaemia. And you don't have to be dead.
- Spirits are said to dissipate from view under strong light. However, the film is inconsistent about how much light is needed; how vulnerable Elliot is depends entirely on the scene in question.

Thanks, swapped the example. And since the complaining has been cleaned out, I will remove the film from the complaining cleanup sandbox.
This is on Real Life:
Nickelodeon gave both The Ren & Stimpy Show and Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon" the Chris Benoit treatment for a period in 2018 following the publication of a BuzzFeed report where two female animators accused show creator John Kricfalusi of attempting to prey on them while they were teenagers in the mid-90's. Reruns were pulled from NickRewind (then NickSplat), the Nick website dropped all references to it, all "retro" merchandising for it was discontinued and digital outlets stopped selling the series. Even the episodes that Kricfalusi wasn't involved in were pulled due to his mere association to the characters. NickSplat's social media accounts stopped mentioning the series, and official videos on YouTube featuring the series were taken down, including the show's opening theme. On top of all that, when Nick launched the NickSplat streaming service in August 2018 on the VRV service showcasing much of their classic programming, The Ren & Stimpy Show was nowhere to be found, underscoring Nick's then-desire to bury the show completely. However, the unpersoning was undone months later as Ren & Stimpy returned to Nick's spotlight like nothing happened (or they just wanted to keep the fans happy whilst pretending John K never got accused of any of that).
I'm wondering about the wording of the last sentence...
I could be wrong, but I don't recall hearing any word about Ren and Stimpy being brought back outside of the possible revival, as well as maybe reruns but I have seen an episode of Pepe le Pew a few weeks after the character was ultimately decided to be too problematic so they might not count. If anything they could still be uncrediting him for his work, but again I'm not sure. Might need more looking into.
I have no idea why Nickelodeon putting Ren and Stimpy back into rotation would be "pretending John K. was never accused". Axe that.
Also, yes, there is, supposedly, a Ren and Stimpy revival in the works.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."If they ultimately put the show back into rotation, does it even fit Un-person anymore? It was just Distanced from Current Events. And I think the worst they did to cancel association with Kricfalusi himself was take down his photo in the studio.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

Come to think of it, Screwed by the Network could be a big complaining magnet against networks... Not sure if anyone realized this already.
