Inspired by this thread
, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

The opening of The Bee Gees is pretty negative...
The Bee Gees are a controversial band to talk about these days because either you love them or you hate them. Whatever the case, it isn't considered cool to like them, even though they have had a significant career in the music industry.
...especially the "being scalded to death" and "it isn't considered cool to like them." Yeesh!
I wanted to remove/change it, although I wasn't really sure what to replace it with.

Remove it as reception on the main page.

- Anime reviewer Hero Hei is nowadays known less for his actual reviews a. nd more for his Irrational Hatred of Rooster Teeth (to the point of actively antagonizing and harassing Neath Oum over the direction of RWBY), his tendency to use clickbait-y titles and images in his videos to drum up views, and actively encouraging his fanbase to harass fans of the media he criticizes.
Sections of concern have been bolded, to which I suggested that whoever added this block to the page had beef with Hei, and because I have seen no evidence for these claims in either Hei's tweets or vids.
Another user agreed that these parts need to be backed up by evidence, but disagreed with my assessment on whether or not the user had beef. Would these parts, or rather this entire block be a bit too bashy? Worse, would this also constitute a ROCEJ violation?

In my experience most people's issues with him is that he regurgitates information with no new info as a form of clickbait and is an alt-right "SJ Ws are censoring my anime titties and forcing representation down our throats" kind of asshole. So while he his hated within the Rooster Teeth community for being an obsessively bashy Caustic Critic, and I can believe he'd encourage harassment, I've never heard about him outright doing so.

just added a ton of entries to Thor: Ragnarok.
While a few of them like the one under Unintentionally Sympathetic for Valkyrie are valid, most of it comes off as nitpicking or bashing that few in the audience really seem to share. Also misuse of They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot to mean "things I personally wish happened".

So do I have go-ahead to just gut bolded sections (for no evidence) , or should I leave it alone and report back to the OBC thread with this:
- "Hey, just ran through the complaining/bashing cleanup thread and the block is not in need of this sort of cleanup. Will let OBC cleanup decide on final action"
?

Since it needs it, here is the first part of the description of DeviantArt:

DeviantArt
(styled as deviantART from 2004-2014) is a website featuring art from registered users. Art types include full-fledged paintings, sketches, digital art, photography, sculptures, writing, fan art, fanfics, comics, and more; there are extensive downloadable resources such as tutorials and stock photography. "Fella,"
a small, robotic, cat character, is the official DeviantArt mascot. It is currently owned by Israeli web software company Wix.com Ltd.
DeviantArt was originally launched Monday, August 7, 2000 by Angelo Sotira, Scott Jarkoff, and Matt Stephens as part of a larger network of music-related websites called the Dmusic Network. The site flourished largely because of its unique offering and the contributions of its core member base and a team of volunteers after its launch, but was officially incorporated in 2001 about eight months after launch.

What a mess. The Badass Decay and Idiot Plot entries are like, the movie gives no indication there was anything better to do but I just feel this overwhelming urge to complain! And never heard of the Worf Effect, nope.
I can't be the judge of the fandom, but the way the entries are written, I think they need to go. Also, is this the time when we send a complaining notifier?
The They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character entry about Fenris is also complain-y at best, and is there really Fanon Discontinuity? I'm curious.

Literally one of the only things I know about the Thor franchise from an outsider POV is that Ragnarok is the one everybody loves and one of the movies that made Taika Waititi really popular.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. The Because You Were Nice to Me page has this sentence in an example referring to Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers:
- Based on how we actually see Winnifred treat her, either Foxglove was lonely to a degree not accounted for by human language, or the writers couldn't come up with anything that would actually work.
A similar incident is this one in Huge Rider, Tiny Mount:
- Quest for Camelot is famous among animated film buffs for never appearing to have half a clue as to what it's doing. One such instance features presenting a series of genuinelly dangerous-looking monsters, and then giving them tiny funny little warthogs to ride, completely ruining the effect. The ensuing action-packed chase scene is also accompanied by a gentle ballad on its soundtrack.
From Family Guy S 4 E 4 Dont Make Me Over:
- Were Still Relevant Dammit: The writers mocking Jimmy Fallon for his Corpsing on Saturday Night Live — in June 2005 (which was after the show completed its 30th season and before the show would refresh itself by broadcasting in high-def and hiring Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, and Kristen Wiig as the new feature players [after firing Rob Riggle and keeping Jason Sudeikis]). Sort of justified in that Family Guy was still canceled in 2004 and was trying to catch up with the times, but all the jokes about Fallon and his inability to keep from cracking during SNL sketches dried up as soon as he left. Even The Simpsons' Take That! against Jimmy Fallon (on the season 16 episode "Home Away from Homer"note ) was timelier than this.
What doesn't help is that the entry tries to justify itself, before going back to complaining, then adding "The Simpsons was timelier when they did it".

I found this entry in Animation.Squirrel And Hedgehog:
- An Aesop: A North Korean Aesop - your enemy does not deserve mercy or humane treatment. Your enemy is a liar, a bully, and a kidnapper. You cannot reason with your enemy - trying to make peace is a waste of time. You must train, you must always be ready! Kill them to protect your beautiful, perfect country, any way you can. You know, for kids!
Do you think it should be toned down?
