It would nevertheless concerning if a majority of Saxons ended up voting for parties that have a questionable attitude to our political system.
Because this would be the first thing thats concerning about Saxony over the last few years?
"You can reply to this Message!"Honestly...I can't be too worried about it...
Either Saxony has learned something from Chemnitz, or it hasn't. And if it hasn't, well, maybe it might not be a bad idea to allow the Af D in power. Let's see how Saxony likes the result.
I suspect that Austria is already reconsidering the merit of far right parties...
While letting the dumber segments of the Saxons have a taste of what they're getting makes for nice amounts of gloating, it's not so nice for everyone who has to clean up the mess later. Besides, such problems have a nasty way of escalating to a point they shouldn't be allowed to reach in the first place.
So I sure hope the people of Saxony get some sense in their heads before that happens. If not, well....
I hold the secrets of the machine. On the plus-side, if I were to name any region whose politics is likely to strongly impacted by the schisming that's gathering steam on the far right... Saxony would be in my top 5.
So, things might turn out weirder than we can currently project.
I'd rather not have one of our states be ruled by crypto-fascists, thank you very much.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen. It's not about gloating. It's more that I hope for a Brexit effect, but one in which the Bundesregierung is able to swoop in and put things in order before they get too much out of hand. If Saxony really insists on going in the direction, it at least can demonstrate to everyone what happens if you hold your hand into the fire.
Well, I would prefer the alternative, too. But should it happen, I think the best thing we can do is NOT acting as if the world is ending.

Me, too. Especially since I live there, so I would like to ask you all to refrain from wishing my state to be ruled by radicals, left or right.
I would also like to point out, that even in the Golden Age of the NPD (if there ever was one), it never got a real foothold in saxon politics. And yes, while the AFD is much more compelling for mainstream-voters...It. Is. Still. Opposition.
Not a majority-party, not even the opposition leader. In fact, it had mutiple conflicts in the landtag since it had gotten seats there. The Saxon-CDU can be shit sometimes and stray to far to the conservative right for my taste...but they LOATHE the AFD as far as I can see. So, a coalition is unlikely at best.
So, please do not doomsay my state or speculate on it turning radical. That had not happened before, despite it tending to more right-wing politics. We are still germans after all and we are not completely dominated by rural country-hicks, so to speak.
Thank you for your understanding.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.'No cola for fascists' is my new favorite phrase.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies. This almost wants me to drink cola again (I gave it up for health reasons).
Disgusted, but not surprisedI know. I really hope that the more dire projections for the next election in Saxony will proof the be untrue.
Pop-soda, of all the things.
They're getting desperate by this point.◊ Remind me who's the dumbcluck running their PR department again?

I hold the secrets of the machine.Honestly, the thrive of controversy, I don't think that they care what it is about. Even if they look like idiots, their average voter wouldn't notice anyway because those people are in their tribalist "need to defend the Af D no matter what" mind-set.
Quite the contrary, there is being aroound controversy and being seen as stupid, this kind of thing IS being see as idiots, it will harm them.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"If the goal is the reinforce your own voter base's tribalism, then sure. But that sort of thing is easy as hell.
If you want to attract new people this shit isn't going to cut it.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThey try to thrive on controversy, but the last few months they more fail than succeed
"You can reply to this Message!"Well, looks like they are about to make a huge mistake...apparently they seriously want to campaign for the European Parliament on "reshaping the EU or we leave"...and said reshaping includes removing the body they campaign for.
This will hopefully lead to even some of the far-righter NOT going for the Af D, considering how little appetite there is in Germany for leaving the EU. And with the UK about to give a very graphic demonstration what that actually means, well….
When even Marine Le Pen has put the idea of leaving the EU on hold...
It seems like the Afd is just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks these days.
Disgusted, but not surprisedLike I said before...Confusion to our enemies.
"You can reply to this Message!"Frankly, at this point I am hoping that the right wing of the Af D gets more influence. The crazier the party gets, the better.
Yeah, about that....
AfD party votes to campaign for German exit from EU
At this point I'm wondering if they want to fall under the 5 % hurdle again - because I'm pretty sure "Dexit" is not at all a popular position to take.
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.I thought for a moment you were joking and that was an Onion Article.
Except that I found out it's completely legit.
Good grief, they've gone bonkers. Dexit? In the country that's the most committed to the European Project?
How mad do you have to be to think that shit would fly with the German public?

I hold the secrets of the machine.Between this and the constant splitting - there's now a third party that split from the AfD - I'm almost convinced they'll be gone come next election.
Or at least be reduced to NPD levels of irrelevance.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.
....Unlike with the CDU I am confident the Linke wouldn't form a coalition with the AFD though. No matter what bullshit Wagenknecht is pulling with her Aufstehen.
