Man seeing Eugeo's eye erupt just so he can defy his programming.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. That's what I said: the digital copy is roaming the internet, but is a distinct being from Akihiko Kayaba, who died creating it. Thing is, copy-Kayaba can't tell the difference between himself and the real Kayaba.

Did it actually say that copy-Kayaba is acting purely out of his own, non-malevolent will and is in no way contributing to Kayaba's secret plans? The copy was a Deus ex Machina for Kirito in the ALO story arc yes, but I doubt that makes copy-Kayaba lawful neutral.
Even if it can't I don't see how that really stops the story from saying "a-ha, but copy-Kayaba was the mastermind all along!"

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Reki Kawahara Apologizes to Voice Actors for Latest Sword Art Online Episode
Kawahara said: "Ms. Ishihara, who plays Tiese, and Ms. Kondo, who plays Ronye, both performed a painful scene with aplomb. Thank you so much! And I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."
Reina Kondo responded to Kawahara's tweet, saying, "Thank you! I think that everyone became stronger because of the experience! I will continue to work hard alongside Ronye. I'm looking forward to what happens next."
In a later tweet, Kawahara expressed further ambivalence about the episode's content and offered an explanation for why the series contains multiple instances of sexual assault. "This may be a bit late, but if you're wondering why SAO has so many of those scenes, a considerable number of light novels (although they weren't called light novels back then), epic sagas, and adventure stories I read back in middle school contained those plot elements. I would cite Ōgun Hakusha (Gold Spur) as a representative title. My writing was bound to that as if it were under a spell.
"These days, the spell has finally worn off. Nowadays I would prefer to express catharsis through other means. If it was an absolutely necessary scene for the story, I would write it, but I would prefer to do that in a book that isn't a light novel."
Well damn, the man admits it at last.
I'd also like to remind people that the "every villain a rapist" meme is greatly exaggerated. Kayaba's a cross between a Mad Scientist and a Mad Artist. Laughing Coffin are psychotic murderers known for torturing their victims, but they do not engage in sexual assault of any kind. Professor Shigemura and Eiji are your standard Faustian villains. Kikuoka is He Who Fights Monsters.
What's more SAO was his first work. While he has written new short stories and made some extensive revisions to the web novel version of the story from the Phantom Bullet arc onward the published SAO books more or less follow the same basic story as the web novel version, warts and all. This is a great article about Kawahara and the series.

Blog - TumblrHalfway through Volume 15, I have to say I wasn't expecting the Genre Shift from sci-fi to spy thriller. As for Gabriel, my first impression is that he's basically a grown-up Kyouji who got away with his crimes. Though have to admit that forensic science is not Kawahara's forte, as there is no reason that Gabriel didn't get caught. Given that Alicia's body was dumped in an open ditch, cadaver dogs should have found it before decomposition could conceal the cause of death: sharp force trauma to the brain. Sharp force trauma via the ear can't occur accidentally, and she certainly didn't fall into a ditch that way. Even Gabriel's thorough cleaning of the weapon and his body should not have been enough to explain his whereabouts at the time of the crime. A more reasonable scenario would be for him to have thrown her body into running water, making it look like she ran away from home and accidentally drowned.
The second half of Volume 15 somehow managed to make my opinion of Kikuoka even lower. Apparently, the denizens of the Dark Territory are also artificial fluctlights, not mindless monsters. Even murderous villains acknowledge how blasphemous this research is. Also, reflecting on the Alicia Clingerman case, I think an inversion of Eagleland Osmosis is to blame: whereas Japanese prosecutors will only go to trial with an airtight case, American DA's are perfectly willing to present a circumstantial case. Alicia's parents report her missing when she doesn't come home that evening. You find her dead body in a ditch with sharp force trauma that could not have occurred in said ditch, so you rule the death a homicide. You then interview the last people to see her alive and find out about her relationship with Gabriel. You question the Miller family and staff to find out that Gabriel wasn't home at the time of the crime. You get a search warrant for the Miller home on this basis and find knives that fit the injuries found on the body. You charge Gabriel with murder based on those facts.
Oh yeah, Kikuoka is really, really slimy.
Watch me destroying my countryDamn, T Oonami thread still hates this fucking show lol
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. It's always fashionable to shit on popular franchises.
Give the God Eater game thread some love!I perfer Aliciztion over the pevious seasons myself.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. In our defense the first episodes are Alice is very, very boring.
The second part of a 1 hour two-parter is 90% exposition via sitting in cafes. Multiple cafes even. The characters literally log-off from discussing in a virtual cafe to discuss some more in another cafe in the real world.
Even if the first part was a Slow-Paced Beginning at least the characters were doing stuff & moving to places.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The first part is him as a cute kid hanging out with two characters better than 90% of that damn harem. Including Asuna.
Eugeo is also cuter than 90% of his harem.
Admitably I am bothered by how they all have the same face, I can't not notice it...... But yes that is entirely true.
I assuming it at least picks up to something entertaining now that Death Gun kidnapped Kirito.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Kiritos journey with amnesia as him and Eugeo vaguely remember each other and act on residual feelings to stay with the other.
Lets just say the one running Underworld is an asshat
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Yes now that sounds amazing.
Though my joy is hampered by my knowledge that Eugeo dies.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."A part of him lives on in Kirito. Literally. More than any girl in the harem that aint Asuna will ever get.
There is some mundane life stuff because, Ill say it right now, the Fluctlights are heavy on To Be Lawful or Good and they are programmed to always be Lawful, so a few episodes are spent getting it so Eugeo can travel with him to the capital.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Quintella does the thing this week with Eugeo. You know what I mean.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Strange though that he fell for it, given that his beliefs on the sanctity of sex is what led him to break the Taboo Index to save Tiese and Ronye.
IIRC I've seen people comment on how she was really pushing his issues with his family that the anime didn't really touch on.
She was also clearly messing with his mind as well. His eyes before he gave in lost all life as they became dull green.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I got that when I read the light novel. She's clearly Gaslighting him when she brings up Tiese, as Eugeo acknowledges his motives for intervening weren't what Quinella said they were. Even so, at no point do religious commandments even cross his mind during this scene. As for Eugeo's feelings for Tiese, he wasn't opposed to marrying her so much as not wanting to promise her something he may not be able to deliver. Eugeo is obviously hopelessly in love with Alice, but he had no idea whether getting Alice back was possible before meeting Cardinal. Even now, Kirito's speculating when it comes to what will happen to Alice Synthesis Thirty if they get her memories as Alice Zuberg back.
So apparently Facebook is developing a mind-reading device. Can Full Dive be far behind?
Depends on how you define consciousness. But without going into that, I'd assumed that the copy Kayaba was still around since he reappears in ALO and I don't recall anything stating that he was actually "gone."
So they could turn around and go, "Copy Kayaba is still around carrying out whatever nefarious schemes the original Kayaba had."
Far Scape's plot had something similar when one of the Arc Villain's planted a mental copy of himself in the main character's brain. It's presented as one of those episodic one-offs and the main character figures out how to beat it. Except it isn't and the mental duplicate causes several problems for him later on.
