Seeing as Wonder Girl didn't have a Trope page while Batgirl and Supergirl do, I set out to make one but I hit a roadblock. Should the Wonder Girl page be split into sections pertaining to the individuals like Batgirl or have all technically three Wonder Girls on one page? Any Tropers willing to help with this?

Question: does Wonder Girl have her own series? The other two do which is one of the major qualifiers as to getting her own page.

Wonder Girl had a series that ran from Nov. 2007 to April 2008. It only had six issues.

[up] Well that's disappointing... but at least she got one. Which Wonder Girl, may I ask?

[up][up] Donna and Cassie were major players in the teen Titans series and Cassie also has Young Justice (the comic). I didn't know they needed their own series I thought major involvement would be enough. I guess I'm still learning.

So let me get straight...a character only gets a trope page if s/he has hir own series? That has to be the most ridiculous thing I ever heard of! I mean, Storm has her own page, and I don't think she ever had her own series, while Emma Frost doesn't have her own page, but she had her own series at one point.

So, characters can't get their own pages just because they only appear in Justice League, X Men, Teen Titans, and so on?

Characters get their own page if they have their own series or if they enter the public conscience in a significant way (like the Joker).

What should happen then? Since only Cassie had a series and I don't think Wonder Girl is that well known, should there just not be a page?

Characters get a page when one of the following happens in comic books: 1) the character has their own series, but still participates in other series. 2) the character participates in an extremely large number of series, to the point where the easiest way to tropify the character is through a centralized page as the shared universe can be considered a single work in this case.

We're not wikipedia, we don't make pages just because a character is important to the medium. We make pages for characters because they're involved in works.

In that case, Wonder Girl is hella involved.

"Hella involved" is putting it mildly. The genesis of the character was "Impossible" Silver Age stories that teamed Wonder Woman up with herself at younger ages - Wonder Girl was herself in her early teens, and Wonder Tot was herself as a baby. (Occasionally the blonde Silver Age version of Hippolyta got into the act as "Wonder Queen", but I think that happened only once or twice.)

When the Teen Titans were first introduced, Wonder Girl was just stuck in there without anyone realizing that, "Waitaminnit, that's Wonder Woman as a teenager from at least ten years ago - how can she be hanging out with current characters?" Then someone did realize it, and came up with the idea that she was this teenaged girl that Wonder Woman had rescued as a baby and raised on Paradise Island as a regular Amazon. So far so good....

Then Crisis on Infinite Earths hit, and Wonder Woman was Ret-Gone and reintroduced as a brand-new, never been here before character. But Wonder Girl was still part of the Titans, which made her considerably senior to her once-upon-a-time mentor....

Everything done with the character since has been an effort to "fix" the unholy mess that Crisis left her in. And hardly anything has worked, or been allowed to work for long before some other writer screws her up again.

So she does or does not get involved with a lot of other series?

Donna Troy, the character, should definitely get her own page, as she's been active in the DC Universe in *many* roles since the 60s. But to make it completely fair, let's do a generic Wonder Girl page and describe all characters named that under it (like the ones for the Red Tornado and The Atom.)

Then I'll get it started! grin Edit: The Wonder Girl page is now officially created! If anyone wants to add to it or maybe polish the description, that would be awesome.
