Natsuko stood up from her repose on the steps, dusting some imaginary particles off her skirt as she turned to head inside. With all the chaos of girls running into other girls, falling down, and what have you the lean brunette half expected an orgy to break out on the front walk. Either way, it didn't seem likely there was going to be any business for her to conduct. Flexing the stiffness out of her fingers, Natsuko paused; it would probably be a good idea to take off her gloves before a teacher called her out again.

Stuffing the weighted carefully weighted gloves into her school bag, she pushed the door open and headed inside. While most seniors were preparing to prepare for entrance exams, Natsuko was largely unconcerned about the world of higher education. It wasn't like her father could afford to send her to university. Therefore, she'd been more then happy to volunteer for one of the teacher's aid positions offered to upperclassmen. Though more often then not she found herself arriving before the teacher herself...

Finished scribbling out her next masterpiece of online literature based off of suggestive noises between two pretty males, Mana quickly returned to her game, shifting her glasses back atop her head and frowning at whatever cutscene was taking place.

"...Where's the erotica?" She muttered to herself. Why were the two acting like casual rivals or something? Come on, they clearly had feelings for each other! They wouldn't have said that stuff mid-battle otherwise, right?

...Well, thank god she existed to correct this blatantly out-of-character behaviour. As soon a she was able, these two were gonna be written conducting battle beneath bed covers. Mana had to let out an unusually evil cackle at this, her grin wide.

Sadako thought about what she'd seen in Kansai, and answered her new friend. "Well Tokyo's very nice, it's been my home for my whole life, but Kansai is probably the most beautiful place I've ever seen. Tokyo is a very modern city, and Kansai has a certain old-fashioned charm to it. I suppose it's a bit like Kaunas in that way."

If Torako could actually speak, it would have been clear that she was grumbling right now. Instead, she tucked her pad under an arm in order to put her manga away. It had seemed so likely to become a dramatic kiss scene, too! Now she'd have to stop Momoko from talking about it all day in case things were ruined for her. Annoying...

Despite having been lagging behind, the smaller twin was actually the first to enter the classroom, looking around and checking who was there. The karate girl, with her blonde hair and use of some unfortunate girl's arm as a pillow, stood out most, but others were arriving, too.

Momoko entered just behind her sister, and looked around. Well, not many people had arrived yet, but there was the girl with all the martial arts skills. Sleeping on another girl's arm, no less... Momoko catalogued that away as perfect to troll the both of them with if the need be. But for now, she allowed her sister to go up ahead and took a good look at everyone in the room. Not many people had arrived yet, most of them were just getting here. Well, today's class was bound to be entertaining...

Momoko had even packed some of her special 'Confusion Items' for the day.

Aiko stared. She bumped into this girl, and she... somersaulted and posed and... that was really really random. Why did she react like that? It was... very silly. All Aiko had done was bump into her, how did that cause her to do some kind of dodge-roll? She didn't have any clue how to respond for several moments.

"Um... hi..."

Entering just in time to catch Mana's mad cackling, Natsuko sighed. Everyone else was taking it easy before homeroom; sleeping, sleeping on other students, the Kunomaso twins were just ahead of her, but of course the gamer girl had already come up with another brilliant fan fiction involving a bizarre pairing. At least Momoko hadn't started tormenting her fellow students yet, so the day wasn't completely lost. Trying to ignore the laughter Natsuko brought up her mental checklist for 'Important School Duties'. She still had to set out the attendance book and check to see if there were any instructional materials her teacher needed for the day, besides she didn't exactly have an disciplinary authority...

Natsuko stepped back to the offending party, bangs swaying, leaning on her desk and starring down at the glasses girl, "Hey, Sukini-san, what'd sensei say about bringin' games to class?"

"Hello," said Sakura, rather quietly. She looked down her nose at Aiko, managing to convey hauteur and coolness with a mere look before turning away to look at her sister. She sighed. Why was Kyoku always that... impulsive? She should know better, being older and more experienced...
Rolling her eyes, Sakura left her older sister behind and went to her class. Rather, her sister's class; she was in her sister's classes since she was twelve back in Israel. Sitting down near the window, she took a large, imposing book from her bag, titled 'Annals', put it on her table, and began to read.

Tsubame sat in the classroom, reading a novel that definitely didn't have any girls' love subtext in it and waiting patiently for their homeroom teacher to arrive. The black haired girl was taken somewhat by surprise by the sudden repurposing of her arm as a pillow. She felt it was her duty to help her fellow students and if this girl needed more rest, she'd have to volunteer her body as a pillow. She definitely wouldn't enjoy it though, regardless of what her expression might suggest.

Genki girls sure were cute, even when they were unintentionally choking the life out of you. Kanako certainly didn't mind the sudden glomp considering who had grabbed her. On the other hand the whole cute and cuddly comment was incredibly peculiar. What about her rough, haphazard appearance made her look that way? Not that she minded a nice girl calling her cute, but she figured it was meant more as a general compliment. Kyoku's sister looked similar physically but was clearly different by personality.

"Pleasure. I'm Shimada Kanako, the toughest girl in class 3-A," she remarked, using her old clas assignment from a previous term. The Yankii Nadeshiko nodded a little, "So.. you think I'm cute, huh? Why's that? Have to admit you've got me pretty curious about your thinking."

"Ah?" Mana looked up from the screen to peer at Natsuko. Sounded like she was in for a lecture...
Despite not paying too much attention to her game, Mana was still able to play on, most likely using the game's sound effects as a cue for what action to take as she smiled innocently at Natsuko. "Oh, well, I was told it's okay! Because if I don't keep my mind occupied with these games I'll suffer withdrawal symptoms, Suzuki-san!"

Mana sucked at lying, but at least she was half-joking with her comment. Momentarily returning attention back to the game in order to execute a freakishly complex input for a needlessly flashy finish, Mana returned to innocently smiling at Natsuko. "But yeah, I promise I'll stop once class starts proper!"

Toughest girl, huh? Ryuuzaki thought as she leaned back in her chair. Sigh, yet another future rival, I see...

Honestly, she didn't particularly care about being labeled as one of the best fighters in Hoshizaki. She'd really rather not have to fight through crowds of martial artists trying to prove their worth by defeating her, but her honour as a samurai meant that she couldn't turn down a challenge. Didn't stop it from being so tedious, though... If only the rest of the Kendo Club weren't so fervent at spreading their admiration for "The Great Ryuuzaki-sama", she might be able to avoid all this.

The samurai sighed once more, before rummaging through her bags and pulling out a book. Since the teacher hadn't arrived yet, she thought she might be able to read through at least another chapter.

"Needs more whipped cream, Yuriko-chan... yeah, just there..." the kitsune mumbled, apparently proficient enough at her illusions to maintain the more basic ones whilst half a sleep. What would annoy Tsubame is the drool on her arm... and maybe the apparent contents of the dreams. Just who was this 'Yuriko-chan' and what did they have to do with whipped cream?

As normal, Torako headed for the back of the room, which was a rather unfortunate seating arrangement for the teachers: sometimes they had to walk towards her to work out what she was saying, and the rest of the time it was hard to tell if she was paying attention, preparing to say something, or sneakily reading manga when she shouldn't have been.

Hikaru glanced upwards as students began to head inside, shutting her book and walking through the doors as well. She got to the classroom without incident, sat down at a corner desk, and took out her book again. Distantly she noted another girl reading a book a few desks ahead of her, but didn't try to start up any conversations...although now that she was looking, quite a few members of the classroom were reading. Maybe this year would be interesting...

"You were not; I may've been born at night, but it wasn't last night Sukino. You better get ready to go cold tur- huh, that was a pretty sweet combo," Natsuko said, not for a minute allowing herself to be suckered by the innocent smiles or promises to cut it out when class started. She may've had the courtesy to mute it once the lecture began but Natsuko didn't for a second think she would actually stop playing. Mana was an addict as far as she was concerned.

"Your glasses are about to fall off," She rolled her eyes and sighed with exaggerated disappointment, "Look Sukino, either I take it and you get it back at the end of class, or sensei takes it and does god knows what with it or you."

Aiko looked up at the older-looking girl and frowned. She just gave off this look of being a total jerk. For absolutely no reason that Aiko could discern. She kind of wanted to kick the girl in the leg or something, but that was strictly against school rules. Instead, she quickly headed past the weirdo and made her way into the classroom.

"Hello!"

Only a seat ahead of her sister, Momoko sat down and stretched. Once she had stretched properly, she lay her bag aside and then opened it. From her bag, she withdrew a wooden dragon statue. It was finely crafted, twisted in an 'S' pose and detailed perfectly, with a base carved to resemble rocks. She placed it on the desk and moved it so it faced foward.

The clunk of something large and wooden being placed on the desk next to her caused Ryuuzaki's attention to be drawn away from her book and to the girl sitting next to her. For whatever reason, she had placed a large wooden dragon atop her desk.

"That is... A very nice dragon, I see," she said awkwardly, trying to make conversation. She then bowed her head in greetings to the girl. "Ryuuzaki. I do not believe we were in the same class last year, but I look forward to spending this year with you."

"You should see what I can do with my main!" Mana chuckled proudly, although she was definitely somewhat nervous now. It didn't sound like Natsuko was going to tolerate her life style. That... could be problematic. Absent-mindedly pushing her glasses further up her head, Mana replied, "Um... I-I guess I could just put it away..."

With great reluctance, Mana did the difficult job of pausing the current cutscene and placing it within her bag. Placing said bag on the floor, Mana folded her arms and smiled. "See, Suzuki-san? No problems whatsoever!"

Whipped cream? Yuriko-chan? Just what was this girl dreaming about? Whatever it was, it sounded like it was extremely indecent. Especially coming from someone so (seemingly) young. Or maybe she had skipped breakfast and was dreaming about pancakes, but the former seemed more likely, in the bespectacled girl's mind at least. Having been distracted by her contemplation of the blonde's dream, it took a moment for Tsubame to realise she was getting drooled on.

"Um, excuse me?" she said, gently shaking the fox in an attempt to wake her up.

The teacher's aid narrowed her eyes, "Alright... I've got eyes like a hawk Sukini-san, I'll be watching."

Giving the otaku her best stern glare, Natsuko flashed a rare grin before turning back to the front of the room. Noting that most of the class was involved in reading of some fashion, or quietly talking, she pushed up her jacket sleeves before reaching into her bag for the class attendance book. Setting it on the podium, she didn't find any directions from sensei waiting for her. Instead, Natsuko ended up leaning on the podium and staring out at the assembled class.

Intellectually Natsuko understood why she was at Hoshizaki; her mother had been a graduate, so her entry was practically guaranteed with her grades if she applied with a full scholarship. It was a prestigious school and would look great on job applications after all. Actually having passed four years hear, Natsuko was beginning to wish she'd ended up at Central Technical after all. Sure she'd made some friends here, had some great times with the hockey team, but still it seemed like you missed out on part of the high school experience at an all-girls private school.

The teacher still hadn't arrived, and Natsuko was beginning to grow concerned. Brushing back her bangs again, she hoped that on the first day she wouldn't be left responsible for a whole class of girls. That would be... too much.

Hearing the voice from beside her, Momoko did not turn. In her mind, she was already contemplating how much she could confuse the girl beside her. There was only one way to find out. Raising her arms, she took a hold of the dragon statue and turned it to face the girl next to her, not turning to look at her herself.

"Hello. I agree," she said, her voice taking on a monotone as she spoke.

Cheerfully, Aiko made her way into the room. No one had greeted her, but she didn't mind at all. Nope, she looked around to find her way to her desk. It was somewhere here... there was so many cute girls here! That was certainly nice. And no one had pointed out her appearance yet... not that she minded if they did, but it was a little surprising that they hadn't.

Sadako realized she'd gotten a bit ahead of herself. "Ah, sorry. Kaunas is the city my father came from, in Lithuania. It's a very old, very beautiful city, and I go there to visit my family every year. But enough about me, tell me a bit about yourself."

A slight frown spread across Ryuuzaki's face, as she had no idea how to interpret the girl's response. Did she... Say something wrong? It would be rather dishonourable if she had offended her neighbour, let alone doing so after only a few minutes together.

"I hope we can get to know each other better over the coming year," she tried again. "I... Hope my comments about your dragon were not taken the wrong way. It is truly a well crafted statue."

"But as for me... well, I'm pretty boring. I grew up in a small suburb nearby Kyoto, called Matsuo, you've probably never heard of it. My father works in software development, and my mother, um, passed on when I was still pretty young. "Okay, okay..." Mana mumbled, shrinking slightly in her seat. Man, why did the staff have to be so uptight about her gaming? It didn't impede her school work that much. Maybe.

Anyway, her hands were now unoccupied, and were already rapping at her desk randomly, as if trying to type on an imaginary keyboard. Damn it, she needed to do something! Game, write, shadow puppets, whatever!

As Mana tried to find something for her hands to do that didn't involve sneaking her PSP back out, Mana's sweeping gaze came across an unusual sight. Not the girl clutching onto another's arm, but the tiny girl with white hair. An anime character come to life? Mana stared. Good thing she was located somewhere behind the girl, so unless she decided to look over her shoulder... not that Mana was entirely aware she was staring. Or still randomly striking the desk with her fingers.
