NO TREE FOR ME (ALSO LOVES HER BOYFRIEND)This was like 1994 and half the classrooms were still using Commodores (I think the computer lab was the only place any of our computers had an OS that even ran a decent browser), so to be fair not a whole lot of the teachers had much idea how anything worked.
Still, the specific teacher in question was a tremendous asshole. It wasn't the first or last asshole thing she did.

I used to think "Y?" meant "You?" not "Why?" in 2006 Internet slang. I don't think it is used anymore, or at least isn't in the areas of the Internet I am in, both because it is a short word anyways and because of this confusion.
I also thought "Lmao" meant "Lame-o" for awhile.

:O
I dunno, that doesn't sound too old.
I recall dial up and CD games. And AOL Internet.
I thought it wasn't for porn.
I believed those chain emails like "Send this to 5 people and you'll find your true love!" Just those ones, though, and I think I only did that once. Or maybe twice.
I also believed that one user actually was the president's daughter because they told me so.
Also, I chose stupid names and said stupid things.
Addendum: this wasn't me, but my sister once asked a chatroom what country everyone was from.
An AOL chatroom.

And to say I was nervous... it wouldn't be quite enough.

Post what you did or thought when you were a newbie on the Internet.
For example: when I was a net noob, I had no idea what Mozilla Firefox was.
