Super Mario RPG. I dreamed of it, for a whole year.
I asked my mum to get it me for Christmas about three times per month. And then I had a spat with my brother in November, I don't even remember what for, and my mum went "you know, just for this, you're not getting that videogame you asked. Ever."
I am almost tempted to download the rom and play it on an emulator. But it would probably be disappointing by now...

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.Optimus Prime, one of the original ones.
I didn't get toy guns given to me, so I had to make them out of whatever I had laying around. There's a lot you can do with epoxy and loose bits of metal and plastic, it turns out. Old VCR's are great for greebles if you want a futuristic sci-fi weapon.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.I wanted one of those monster truck go-kart things.
Also, there was a strict rule against toys that involved "slime", although I do remember having some Gak. Similarly, Stinkor
was out of the question.
I wanted Kingdom Hearts Chain Of Memories. Didn't get it until last year. Hmm...probably would have made do but, Captin Hook would have killed me.
The original Lego A-Wing, from the first Star Wars wave. Wanted to have that before I was even into Star Wars, but never got it. I did get the redesign a few years later though.
Oh, and a slotcar track. While my dad would have gladly cooperated on that, our house is just too damn small.

A different shape every step I take A different mind every step of the lineI was a huge Lego fan. I always wanted the Lego Coastguard station. I only saw it once, on display in the Woolworths in Perth, but it embedded itself in my psyche.
Oh, and the old Kenner AT-AT.

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'

So, list some toys you really wanted as a kid, but never got.
My friend had gotten into lego a bit earlier than I had, so he had all of the older castle sets that had been taken out of production. It had props that I felt were absolutely awesome, like a Princess character, and the Black Knight. He also had the old school space police and their monorail, which actually ran like a train set. I'd love going over to his house just to stare at his lego collection, haha.
I also wanted a pogo stick for ages, but my mother felt that they were too dangerous. She was probably right.
