Mystic Heart lifted her chin as she listened to Rarity go on. She heard it, the opportunity one never receives; a personal meeting with the Princess! "Of course she'll understand, and you can trust me. I'll perform to your best expectations!" A sense of pride swelled within her, to be chosen - that is. The pastel cyan pony clipped in her best pair of two-baulbed ear-rings and made sure her nasal stud was tightly in place. She nodded in satisfaction, and shifted her mane to shift her strawberry white hair from her eyes. "I won't let you down!"
TimewarpVortex - Role-Play Without MercyFlash Bang had never claimed to be a cowardly pony, although few ponies ever did. Such an attitude would be more suited for a student of Fluttershy. He was just... cautious. yes, that was the word. He didn't like o be startled, and he was startled easily enough already. In his experience, which was unreliable at best, it payed to keep an eye out for potential dangers or game-changing factors. The best-laid plans of mice and mares were frequently laid to waste by the smallest of details. One wrong move, one tiny slip of the tongue, and it could all blow up in his face.
Despite all this, the thin, dull orange unicorn still found himself stumbling back with a yelp at the sight of his mentor's sudden appearance. He'd never get used to that, despite the party pony's training. Most of her lessons he'd taken to heart, but there was still the matter of surprises that he failed to grasp. Regaining what little of his composure he had remaining, he shook a few stray strands of his long, red mane out of his narrowed and bloodshot yellow eyes. After a few moments, he managed to choke out a response. "O-of course, Pinkie." He'd made a point of addressing her on a first name basis since last Tuesday's lesson. Formality had never been his strongsuit anyway.
Despite the lack of available information, Flash was more than eager to serve his teacher. Perhaps this was another one of her lessons in disguise. He'd figure it out on the way, he was sure. Or perhaps Celestia would simply inform him anyway. She was smart like that, being a goddess and all. Goddesses tended to know a lot of things and the solar monarch had probably anticipated this ahead of time. Or not. It was all up in the air at this point, which managed to make him even more uncomfortable. He'd never been at ease with uncertainty, and the possibility that this was a trick was one that weighed heavily on his mind. Still, there was no sense in not taking it with good cheer, so he would go regardless. Expecting the unexpected had been one of the first things he'd learned under Pinkie's tutelage.
"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyAt Sweet Apple Acres
Dust Whirl, who was pruning a tree, stops and turns towards Applejack.
Most certainty. I am honored, La- Applejack.
Do you have any message for me to report?
Then the drab-colored pegasus turns to Limbertwig and asks tentatively
Hello, Limbertwig. How are you doing today?
Great first post! I was just about to go have dinner, sorry for the short post. After taking the message — if any — Dust Whirl leaves at once for the palace. And he's pretty taciturn, so don't make me hold everypony up if the plot progresses and I'm not here

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.Clock Work had a broom in her mouth, which disallowed her from speaking, so she carefully set it aside against a pillar of the shrine. Clock, as she liked to be addressed, had been working especially hard at improving the shrine that she had been assigned to the upkeep of, as she felt that if she couldn't travel while assigned to this duty, at the very least she could work on improving the local area. She had a pencil tucked behind her ear- incidentally an incredibly impractical idea given that she had to poke the writing device with a hoof until it plopped to the floor so she could grab it with her mouth, but habits died hard- which was possibly the single most influential item in the entire forest in terms of what it had been used to sketch and plan out.
The shrine was small, still, but it was well kept, aesthetically pleasing, and completely natural. Careful pruning, planting, and growing had made a wall of natural trees as the boundary of the shrine, beyond which lay the forest. Before the small statuette of Fluttershy were sanded logs that had been fallen by weather, re-appropriated for usage by the rare visitor. For miles around Clock had assisted the animals in building the best homes possible. It was sort of awkward, since Clock didn't actually commune very well with the woodland creatures, but she had done well enough to where most of the forest population was happy to see her when she swung by on her way to and from the shrine. That and the productivity of the surrounding creatures was abnormally high as a result of her efforts, they were usually prepared for winter and woken up during Winter Wrap Up much faster than other non zoned areas- Clock had calculated the improvement to a twenty percent reduction of time taken, which allowed for more rest on the animal's part. That and the nests and burrows were simply much nicer looking- they blended into the environment better.
Clock wasn't exactly sure where she stood in the eyes of her goddess, but Clock was personally fond of Fluttershy. She was a sweet mare-goddess, and Clock found her demeanor really cute. She smiled as she turned to face her goddess, being sure to keep her tone amicable so that her mistress wouldn't be startled.
"Of course, my lady. I'll attend to Princess Celestia for you. Is there anything you wish her to hear?"

"It would be an honor to represent our temple in front of Celestia herself. Of course I can go." Chess Master replied. "May I have some time to get ready?" After seeing her nod, he bowed, and slowly backed out of the room. As soon as he was out of hearing, however...
"OH SWEET HOLY MOTHER OF NIGHTMARE MOON I'M DEAD" he yelled while rushing down the halls. Unsurprisingly, no one looked up. This was the Temple of Twilight Sparkle, after all. In fact, an enterprising group of young students has begun treating the weekly mental breakdowns like sporting events; placing bets on length, property damage, and who would be next. Some ponies argued that the frequency of these events was a sign that Twilight's magic was influencing her students in ever so subtle ways to act more like her. The usual response was "You still owe me 50 bits. Pay up!"
Skidding into his room, Chess Master frantically searched through the stack or papers on his desk. Throwing away scribbled over ideas, burnt piles ash (spike doesn't like losing tic-tac-toe), and plans that never got completed, he finally found what he was looking for: his checklist. note "Okay so I have 2 projects, 4 magic labs, and my dissertation on the actual beard of star swirl the... wut. WHY IS MY CHECKLIST BLANK" he yelled.
"Oh, Twilight told me to clear your schedule for the next week" Spike said as he entered the room. "It must be something really important too; she's only done that a few times since I can remember."
"Which means she probably does it at least four times a year, considering your memory." Chess knew that he should treat the old dragon with respect, but when you share a room with 5 guys, all of whom constantly act like teenagers, you end up treating them like teenagers, no matter if one of them is a hundred year old dragon.
"Very funny. You know, you lost me 300 bits today, with your little episode in the hall. Maybe I'll just tell your professor the real reason you were late for all your classes last week?"
"You wouldn't dare..."
"..."
"Aw, you're right, I wouldn't." Spike said. "I'll see ya when ya get back, blank flank!"
Chess glared at him for a second, before laughing, pounding hoof/dragon fist, and rushing back out the door. Saddlebags stuffed full of papers, tools, junk, instant-coffee, and energy bars, he was ready to go.. wait, how was he getting there?
"Oh, one more thing, blanky! Twilight suggested that this would be a great oppertunity to try out the new rocket-powered chariot that Booster built!"
oh, manure.
Later:
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH"
Even Later:

Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now."Yes Ma'am! Hoooooaaaah! Poof!" In an explosion of smoke, Ninja Star Vanishes! ... Maybe. On a second look, she appears to be standing right where she was, having forgot to actually run away after dropping that smoke bomb, in the fun of it all. "Er, oh, right!" She quickly dashes down the hall, hooves clopping as she passes the ponies practicing their swordplay, the newest pony having figured out the sonic rainboom, Sonic Dash, the great-great-great-great-great granddaughter of Rainbow Dash. She then promptly smashes into a pillar. After hopping on two feet for a bit, she resumes rushing out the door! She quickly runs to her room, gathers her suitcase full of identical clothing sets and various ninja-like equipment, and runs for Canterlot! "Woooooosh!"
MEANWHILE, IN THE HALL
Rainbow Dash, retreated to her business among many snickers, due to the fact that ninjas ALWAYS carry sharpies on them, and she was now sporting a fine stache. Several students exchanged glances and giggles about Ninja Star's latest exit. Sonic Dash explores the flight range, eager as ever to follow in her ancestor's footsteps and be the best flier in the enitre world! Sadly, she cannot, as she has no rainbow hair, which is rumored to be the source of all of Rainbow's magnificent flying Prowess. Still, she trys anyways, as she WILL conquer the flight racing circuits! She will be the BEST FLYER IN THE WOOOORLD.
This concludes Post One intermission One.

With Miss Rarity's blessing, Mystic Heart makes her way to the train station to hop on the first train to Canterlot. "Oh! Mystic Heart, my dear!" Rarity suddenly calls out from the Temple, "If it wouldn't be too much trouble, try to obtain some of Philomena's feathers for me! You know the ones! Try to find the largest and brightest! Thank you!"
As she returns to the temple, Rarity scurtinizes the fabric she had been working on. "Gold trim it is! Rarity, you are a genius!"
Phillydelphia
Flash Bang makes his way to the hot air balloon station. "The only way to fly," Pinkie had once told him. As a student of Laughter, he has no trouble obtaining a ticket. Strangely enough, any time any student of Pinkie's wants to leave the city, tickets are "on the house." Strange...
Sweet Apple Acres (Dust Whirl)
Applejack taps her chin for a moment. "Actually, ya know what? Ah do have a message for the Princess. Make sure ta tell her that the trees on the far end a' the orchard have been gettin' weird, and if she could have onna them high-falootin' Royal bot'nists look inta' it. Ah can't make Heads 'r Tails of it..."
Limbertwig was a little surprised that he was being addressed by Dust Whirl. Most of the students were afraid to talk to him since he was Applebloom's seven times great grandson. That makes him and Lady Applejack full-on family.
"Well, Ah'm not doin' too shabby, Dusty. How's about Ah pick up yer chores today while yer runnin' that errand for Lady Applejack."
At Limbertwig's comment, Applejack cleared her throat. "Ah said, y'all don' haveta' call me 'Lady'! That title's fer them fancypants ponies, like Rarity." She huffed and trotted down the row, toward the end of the orchard.
The Shrine of Kindness (Clock Work)
"Oh? Well...um..." Fluttershy thought for a moment, then she closed her aquamarine eyes and nodded. "There is something that's been worrying me. The animals near the Everfree forest have been acting more jittery than usual. Would you please ask the Princess about it?"
"I mean...if you want to. I don't want you to feel overburdened with responsibility..."
The Everfree Forest (True Blade)
"Supplies, eh?" Eight Star levitates a small, black bag and gives it to you. "This should be enough to hold you over until you get to Canterlot. It contains 150 bits, a length of rope, a crystal so we can maintain contact, and a cloak...in case you get cold."
The bag doesn't appear to be able to hold as many items as Eight Star mentions, but a magic bag is a magic bag.
Before you leave, Eight Star mentions, "And don't forget, my faithful apprentice...petty larceny is never out of the question."
The Rocket Powered Chariot that Booster Built
Chess Master careens through the air at breakneck speeds. The rocket was working surprisingly well. Roll "Rocket Handling". Roll: 68+4(Knowledge)=72
What was just as surprising was the fact that nothing in the castle was destroyed by the rocket chariot. After travelling over the Royal Garden, through the Library, and passing through the throne room, the rocket crashes outside the castle gates. Roll Concussive Damage. 15(1d8*3)-12(Endurance)= 3 Damage You now have 5 HP
A pegasus guard eyes you warily as you make your way to the castle gates.
Running toward Canterlot
Ninja Star races toward a local airship. She can just barely hear Rainbow Dash shouting profanities as she discovers her student's "vandalism". Several citizens cast odd glances as the ninja-clad mare rushes by, but they wouldn't dare say anything as they wouldn't dare mess with one of Rainbow Dash's students.
Seems like everypony is on their way to Canterlot. Chess Master is the closest, as he is just outside the castle gates. Dust Whirl is next, as he is near Ponyville. Clock Work and True Blade are relatively close together, as they are both near the Everfree Forest. Mystic Heart, Flash Bang, and Ninja Star are about equidistant from Canterlot, and are the furtherest away. I'm not using any kind of atlas (if one even exists), and if somepony could find me one, I would appreciate it. :)
Thanks, Jimmmyman 10 for giving me that chance to test out the Dynamic Dice-rolling system. :)

Right on schedule. Okay, maybe it was about an hour behind, but the important thing was that no one was hurt. Except him. He looked out from behind the wall he had hidden behind. Where there once was a complex piece of machinery, there was now a complex piece of machinery that was also on fire. The guards were already working on putting it out, however. Apologizing, he continued on toward the palace, pulling out his checklist while he walked. The blank sheet... was scary, but oddly comforting. The last time he had a blank schedule, with everything completed was... well, was never.

Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now."Thank you very much. Have a pleasant day!"
Dust Whirl nods politely to Limbertwig and takes off.
During the flight towards Canterlot, Dust finds himself gazing absentmindedly at the clouds. It is strange... are they supposed to keep bobbing like that? It's not dramatic, or even very noticeable; but still, that is bizarre...
Always interested in unusual weather patterns, Dust briefly considers examining one more closely.
"Nah, better hurry up. It's probably just a strange air current. Perhaps I can look into it during my return trip, if it's still there and there is time..."
Shrugging, Dust leaves the clouds behind him and, after an uneventful trip, lands near the palace.
Addressing the closest guard, he asks
"Good day. I bring a message to Princess Celestia on behalf of Princess Applejack. May I please be introduced to Her Royal Highness?"
"Did I use the right title?" Dust muses by himself. "Was I too formal? Not formal enough?"
"I don't want to sound like a lout; but I don't know the protocol here, Applejack just does not care for this sort of stuff..."
"And why are there scorch marks near the gate?"

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.Taking note of what her mentor said, she settles into her seat on the train. During the ride, she does a little playing around with Enchanting, attempting to learn Lesser Enchanting by application.
Technically, I rolled a 87+26(Magic)=113, which would earn me the skill, since I got over 100 while attempting the skill. Though, since I'm not the GM, it's up to Karl to either roll or take mine.
If she succeeds, she would be not only very pleasently surprised, but she would also add +1 Magic Defense to her nose-stud. (Since it's probably cheap jewelry, it would only hold up to 5 points of enchantment.)
If she fails, she is a little bummed out, but resolves to work on it as she goes.
Either way, she sits in her seat and attempts to keep herself relaxed and prepared for what was to come when she reached Canterlot.

TimewarpVortex - Role-Play Without Mercy"Oh my." Clock genuinely wouldn't have a clue- the shrine she managed was in an isolated corner of the forests and thus mostly dissociated from other ones by sheer isolation. "I'll go to the Princess straightway, and then I'll personally check up on it on my way back. You can count on me, Mistress." Clock almost went in for a hug, then thought better of it and settled for a lazy salute before she galloped on out of the shrine. The roads leading up to the copse that hosted the shrine were clean, not paved, but rather kept smooth by the work of burrows of snakes hidden amongst the trim grasses surrounding the path. Just another feature Clock had come up with for the sake of aesthetics and efficiency without loss of ethics. The dust free track felt good under her hooves.
"Dun-dundundun-dundundun-dun-dun!" Ninja Star rushes up to the ticket counter, hurriedly tossing about twice the price of her ticket onto the counter without actually checking how much she put up. "One ticket to Canterlot, please!" ''Dun dun, dun dun, dundundundundun, dun!" She snatches up the ticket, dashing into the airship, quickly storing her baggage under the seat. She then plops down into the smooth, leather seat of the well designed, luxury airliner, and begins one of the most early developed, easiest to preform, most powerful ninja tricks... the easiest way to simply blend into a crowd... READING THE NEWSPAPER. While she uses the best trick in the book, she covertly sneaks peeks out, identifying each person in the room, and investigating the interior... Either that, or squeeing at one of the most famous celebrities in all of Equestria... Big Shot, the famous fashion designer, only rivaled by Rarity herself! He even brought his personal photographer, Papa Razzo with him! It's a pune, or play on words.
POST TWO INTERMISSION ONE.
Who the hell is that pony? The one in the black suit? I mean, what IS she wearing? Pajamas? Mm... Might be an interesting idea for a new line... Still, she's staring at me. It's kinda creepy. Should I call security? I mean seriously, what is up with her? Is she trying to hide behind that newspaper? Creepy...

I ship it.Flash Bang boarded the balloon to Canterlot and waited anxiously. Being isolated with his thoughts wasn't the sort of thing that usually made him comfortable, but there was something theraputic about riding a hot air balloon. He used the time to consider what he would do if this turned out to be one of Pinkie's "lessons."
Canterlot Castle (Chess Master)
"Halt!" A pegasus guard demands of Chess Master. "What's your business in the castle? The Princess is expecting important guests, and does not want with to hold court with citizens today." He looks behind you at the smoldering ruins of what was once a chariot in the street, then back to you. "Do you...uh...know who did that, by chance?"
Path to Canterlot (True Blade)
You make fairly good time getting out of the Everfree forest and soon find yourself on a well-beaten trail. Roll Perception, Sight 95+10 = 105 Another pony appears to be rushing down the same path a little ways ahead as you pass a shrine of Kindness.
Canterlot Castle Gates (Dust Whirl)
You land near the gates and immediately notice a guard speaking to another pony. This pony appears to have a blank flank. Roll Perception, Hearing 72+6 = 78 You can make out the guard say that the Princess isn’t holding court with citizens today. You find this rather odd, since you know that Celestia The Eternal always takes visitors. Neither the guard or the blank flank seem to notice you.
The Train to Canterlot (Mystic Heart)
You feel a sense of pride as Rarity’s teachings aid you in enchanting your nose stud, giving it +1 Magic Defense. It never hurts to have defense, especially if you will be collecting feathers from Philomena. Roll Knowledge 14-2 = 12 You don’t even know for sure if Philomena is molting right now, of if Celestia has any spare feathers.
Soon enough, the train pulls into Canterlot station. Off in the distance, you spy the gates to Canterlot castle. You see a small pillar of smoke emanating from that direction as well. At the moment, you appear to be in the Shopping District. You see signs pointing toward the Temple of Magic and the Castle.
The Path to Canterlot (Clock Work)
As you gallop down the path, you congratulate yourself on your idea to make the path more smooth, not only increasing its aesthetic appeal, but also making it easier to traverse. Roll Perception, Listening 28+8 = 36 Your hooves make a soft ‘plup plup plup’ sound as the soft ground absorbs your every step.
The Airship to Canterlot (Ninja Star)
Roll Stealth 62+5+5 = 72 You find yourself surprisingly good at hiding from the other passengers. Either that, or they’re ignoring you. You go with the assumption that you’re just that awesome.
The other passengers go about their business, just like any other day. Roll Perception, Sight 25+8 = 34 You don’t notice anything suspicious. At all.
It’s kind of boring, actually.
Before long, you land on the outskirts of Canterlot. Big Shot and Papa Rozzo exit the ship first and quickly make their way toward the shopping district. When you step off the airship, you notice that you are in the High Class District. You see signs pointing toward the Temple of Magic, The Shopping District, and The Castle.
The Balloon To Canterlot (Flash Bang)
Roll Knowledge 15-2 = 13 Pinkie lessons always come unexpectedly, like a surprise party. She’s been known to send you to the Castle before for the sake of a lesson before. You’re still a little too jittery after Pinkie’s previous lesson to think too much about this one.
After a long ride alone with your thoughts, the balloon arrives in Canterlot’s Housing District. You see many upper-class ponies going about their business. Roll Perception, Sight 61+14 = 75 You see several ponies whispering. You know the word on their lips: Pinkie Pie. As you make your way through the crowd, you see several ponies look up into the sky, or down the alleyways, as if they’re expecting something.
You see signs pointing toward the Shopping District, Canterlot Castle, and the Temple of Magic.
Only two of you are not in Caterlot. This is likely because you’re travelling by foot. Those in Canterlot are free to do as they please. If players get too Sidetracked By The Golden Saucer, they’ll be ‘’gently’’ steered back on the right course. :P

Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.Damn. I was hoping to finish this today. I didn't even bring the bits for paying for one night's stay in Canterlot...
Oh well, better talk to the guard and see what's the problem here.
Dust Whirl approaches the guard and the blank flank, but he is uncertain on whether to interrupt them while they are talking.
Should I just butt in in the conversation? No, that's rude. Better to wait for them to finish talking. Right. Wait, am I just saying here looking at them while they talk? That's also rude. Back in Sweet Apple Acres I'd just say whatever I have to say and everything would be fine, but Canterlot is not for me, I can already tell. What to do...

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas. She began to trot through the shopping district, her chin raised and her movements closer to a strut in elegance as she went on her way towards the royal castle.
Until, of course... she passed the display window of the Jewelry Shop. Her biggest weakness! She found her head stopping before her body slowed down. A few moments of staring, and she was slowly approaching the glass. Her mouth must have been hanging open, because she had to lick a small strand of drool from her chin. "Oh yes. One day, you'll be mine. All of you, my pretties!" An almost evil cackle came from her. She shook her head and mane back and forth a few times as she regained control. "Not before I'm paid." She comments as she turns and tries to put back on those royal airs on her way to the castle... but those gems were as mentally distracting as they were visually dazzling.
TimewarpVortex - Role-Play Without MercyChess guiltily informed the guard who fault it was, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the guard wasn't angry. Apparently, stuff like this happened all the time. He was less pleasantly surprised to hear how it usually got cleaned up.
"But I'm a student of Twilight Sparkle herself!"
"Doesn't matter, you still have to... wait, are you here to meet with the princess"
Chess nodded. The guard apologized, telling him that they had received a letter from twilight that one of her students would be coming instead. He said that he would go and inform princess Celestia at once... while Chess went and either fixed the gate, or found someone else who could.
Chess looked over at the damage. "Ouch" he thought to himself. "Well, I guess I had better..., say, who is this? Another student?
The gate can wait"
Once the guard walked off to deliver their messages to Celestia, he spoke to his neighbor. "Hi there! I'm Chess, student of Twilight Sparkle, and just all around awesome pony. You here to meet with the princess too?"
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.Flash Bang flew his balloon into Canterlot and landed in such a way the probably violated several of Canterlot's safety rules. "I guess I'll just... park this thing outside the castle? I shouldn't be long, anyway." he thought aloud. He approached the gate to see that a guard had left, and two other ponies were already waiting there, apparently having a conversation. Oh great, exposition... he thought. Hm, considering the circumstances, maybe they're here to answer Celestia's message as well?
True Blade continued along the path. He made note of the pony in front of him, but didn't think her to be terribly important right now.

"Er, um, hello. Good morning. Well, afternoon. Right. I am Dust, student of Applejack."

"Say, just what happened to the gate?"

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.Clock Work move along smoothly, but slowed her pace ever so slightly when she felt the presence of a another pony behind her. As she slowed she picked up the distinct click of hoof falls on manicured dirt, it was somepony alright. Clock turned around, to behold True Blade. She slowed significantly, as she was now awkwardly pacing backwards, and shouted out to him:
"Hello there!"

Say, do you know anything about metalwork?"

Setting Information: The season is Spring. The pegasi state that the weather will be fair with a slight chance of rain in the evening.
Once upon a time…
At the Temple of Magic
“Psst. Chess Master. Twilight wants to see you…” You turn from your morning meal and see that Twilight’s faithful assistant, Spike, is crouched behind you. Sometimes, he seems to forget that he’s much larger than he used to be, and it’s quite obvious that he’s trying to “blend in”. He has a conspiratorial tone in his voice. He leans in and whispers, “She says that it’s urgent.”
In the Hall of Magic, Twilight’s living area, you find your teacher absorbed in one of her many thousands of books. Upon your entrance, she looks up and bids you to enter. Once you stand before her, she states, “Hello, Chess Master. My Faithful Student.” She sighs before continuing, “I really thought I could help you discover your Cutie Mark, but alas you are still…Blank.” She grimaces slightly. “However, I didn’t summon you here to remind you of that fact, of which I’m sure you’re painfully aware. No, the true reason I summoned you is, the Princess has need of me in the palace. I would go, but…” She glances around the hall at the various open books she has strewn about and the half-completed lists that are tacked to the walls and sighs, “I am far too busy. So, as one of my most faithful students, I ask that you go in my stead, and give my apologies to the Princess.”
At a small shrine of Kindness
You hear a tiny voice behind you as you complete your daily chore of maintaining the shrine. “Um…excuse me, Clock Work?” You see your mentor, Fluttershy, standing behind you. “I’m sorry if I startled you, but I need you to do a large favor for me…if you want to…”
“The Princess sent me a letter this morning asking if I could come to the palace. I’m afraid that I won’t be able to make it because I have so many things to do, making sure that my students are all taken care of and happy. So, um, could you go instead? Please give the Princess my regards.”
In The Temple of Laughter
“Bang!”
“Ha ha, I love your name!” Pinkie Pie, your eccentric teacher, suddenly appears before you, standing upside-down on the ceiling of the Temple of Laughter. “I’m so glad you were able to come! Could you please pass me that streamer? Oh, wait! I’ll do it!” Two hundred years after becoming an alicorn, Pinkie still hasn’t gotten the hang of using magic, and it shows as she levitates the roll above your head and it promptly explodes in a shower of confetti and playing cards. “Whoopsie! Ah, well, now we can play go Fish later!” She trots over to you, her feet still firmly planted on the ceiling. She twists her head at what seems like a really uncomfortable angle so her face appears right-side-up. “Oh right! Hey, could you do something for me? Princess Celestia sent me this letter.” A letter suddenly materializes before you, but before you can read it, it disappears in a puff of pink smoke. “She wants to see me at the palace, but I can’t be there because I have to be here because it’s Clickity-Clack’s birthday and I really want to throw her a Super-Special-Happy-Go-Licious-Funtabulous-Wonderfully-Wonderful Birthday Bash! So…um…could you go for me? Tell me everything that happened, okay?”
At the Temple of Loyalty
Rainbow Dash walks in front of a line of her best students. Ninja Star is one of those present. “Alright, you namby-pambies! Who among you is BRAVE enough, and AWESOME enough to accept this task? Is it…YOU?!” She puts her muzzle almost directly up against the face of the pony three ponies down from you. He begins shaking visibly. “Hmph. Not quite… Back to training, pansy!” With one hoof, she shoves the poor pony out of the line. Then she turns toward you. “What are you snickering at, Ninja Star?” She approaches you as the entire line follows her gaze. She narrows her eyes at you. “So…you think you have what it takes, huh? To represent Me, the Slayer of Discord, at the Royal Palace?” She straightens up, towering over you. “Fine. Prove it…”
At Sweet Apple Acres
Applejack removes her hat, and shakes her mane. “Who-whee! Sure feels good ta get up early in the mornin’ an’ do some chores, don’t ya agree, Dust Whirl? It really gits’ ya goin’ for the day!”
“Applejack! Lady Applejack!” Suddenly, a bluish pony with an apple Cutie Mark rushes up to the pair of you. “Lady Applejack,” he pants, “You…you got a letter!”
Applejack faces the pony and sighs. “Limbertwig…y’all know that ya don’ haveta call me ‘Lady’. ‘Specially since we’re fam’ly. “ She takes the letter from her great-great nephew.
“Ah’m sorry, La- Applejack…”
“Shucks. Don’ worry ‘bout it.” She reads the letter. “Aw, horseapples… An’ here Ah thought Ah’d have all day ta work th’ orchard…” She gazes out over the orchard, then suddenly turns to you. “Say, Dust Whirl? Think you could do me a small favor? Ah’m needed at the palace, but it seems I got more pressin’ matters here. Go fer me, willya?”
At the Temple of Generosity
“Normally, I would attend, mind you. I simply love travelling to Canterlot and keeping up with the latest fashion crazes. Surely, you understand, Mystic Heart. I love what you’ve done with your earrings, by the way.” Rarity was levitating a pair of scissors and a large swatch of fabric. She seemed unsure about something as she adjusted her dress-making glasses. “Tell me, darling, should I use the gold, or silver trim? Oh, I can’t decide!”
She suddenly shook her head and placed the items on a nearby table. “I’m terribly sorry, Mystic Heart, I really should get to the point: I can’t answer the Princess’s summons because I have pressing business at hand. Fashion Week is coming up, and I need to submit my designs, then have the dresses made and look at the time! I’m sure the Princess will understand, my dear…”
Deep In the Everfree Forest
“Ah, True Blade." You step into Eight Star’s scrying chamber to find him staring intently at an orb of solid black. “Come in.” As he continues staring, he says, “Do you know why I’ve called you here? Of course not. Chaos does not need a reason.” He turns toward you and grins. “But I do. Welcome, Initiate. Do you feel it? The flow of magic is…stranger than usual. The Chaos Crystal, which resides in the Everfree Forest informs me that there is…something coming. This wouldn’t normally be a concern of ours, but whatever this thing is, it’s threatening the Crystals.” Eight Star turns and stares directly into your soul. “The Crystals don’t like to be threatened.” The crimson unicorn then steps away from the orb and paces around the room. “Normally, I wouldn’t go crying to the Princess for every problem that faces us, but I believe that we may need her…assistance. The last time I went there, it didn’t go so well. However, she may grant an audience to a…representative… She likely has felt the disturbance as well. Go to the palace in Canterlot. Find out what she knows, and if she doesn’t have her guards chase you out on sight, offer our assistance.”
It might be more efficient if I allow all of the players to post first, then respond to them all in one post. That being said, you can either stick around and ask your teacher for more information, or you may go straight to the palace. If you go to the palace, you won’t have any encounters unless you run into another student.
Have fun, guys!
