Arliella

Clang...

The invisible sword had been blocked. She was forced off with such a violent thrust. Dismayed, frustrated, she performed a back flip to land only a meter or so away from her target. "Aha, not bad!" she wanted to spit at the boy. She wanted this to end fast! Aggh... she wasn't her shy self anymore, that was for certain.

"I'll show you the embodiment of fear! GO!" a card appeared and then vanished, leaving a red and white ball in hand. The girl threw it into the air. Immediately after it opened up, vanishing in a white light.

Please be something good.. Please be something good!

A tiny bat with purple wings and no eyes appeared. "ZUBAT!"

Why...

"G Ghh... never mind..." with one card down, she gripped Invisible Air with both hands. She then charged forward, the bat overhead flying in sync with her run on the ground.

As the blade lock broke, Yakumo immediately used his own Summon. "I summon thee in the name of the Red Moon, the holy place in which you strive for, wretched soul of the Netherworld!" As the chant was completed, a penguin on peglegs materialized with a flourish and s spin, before saluting. "Handle the enemy summon, Mojo."

"On it, dood!" The Prinny exclaimed, before rustling around to bring out twin pairs of machetes and bounding after the Zubat. While the low ranked summon went after the Pokemon, Yakumo himself dashed forward with an efficiently savage thrust attack.

Ariella

Measure the distance of your sword, keep watch, allow the weird bat to do.. whatever.

She repeated the thought over and over as she continued with her charge. The blade was on its way to pierce her own body. She had to guess the measure of her own sword compared to her opponents. Alright, now or never! She ran as fast as she could, heading right into the attack!... Alright, screw that! She quickly leaped to the side, increasing the amount of wind that expelled from the blade. In one, violent motion she struck at the ground. A large, burst of wind shot forth, hopefully enough to knock the boy back.

The Zubat flew higher into the air to avoid any contact with the prinny. Once high enough, a loud screeching noise escaped its mouth. In the form of distorted it, the attack moved downward in an attempt to immobilize the prinny.

Dark Spellian Kirai. She'll always be your friend, and never betray you at the most inopportune moments.

Kirai took a moment to lean very uncomfortably close to Elly and whispered in her ear, "Yeah, she's my rival. I'm the smarter, more talented and better looking one, though. Even though she does make the cutest noises when..."

Remembering her eternal nemesis was still there, she flicked Elly out of the way and turned back to Ai. "Ah-hem! Foolish Ai, ufu~! I have utilised the ultimate evil that is economics to thwart your plans for today! For you see, using my vast supply of currency and my brilliant, diabolical knowledge of goods and services..."

She struck a dynamic pose, thrusting her bag holding hand into the sky once more so that Ai could get a good look at the bulging plastic container.

"...I, the evil magical girl Dark Spellian Kirai, have purchased all of the magical girl manga in the only bookstore in town, leaving you with none~! Kyahahahahah~!"

"Don't wanna," replied Akiko, shaking her head once more. Sleeping now wouldn't be a good idea at all. What if she slept too long? What if she slept until she was twenty? If she was more awake, she would've realized how utterly ridiculous that thought was. But right now... not quite. "I don't... wanna... wanna miss things."

Ai's expression of determination immediately became one of complete and utter disappointment as she saw the bag. That... that really was... all of it. The very thing she had come to this bookstore to find! All the magical girl manga! But... that meant that she wouldn't be able to get any of it! "But... but... I was going to... all of it?"

The implications of all of it started to sink in. Even though Ai really, really wanted that magical girl manga... wasn't all of it quite a bit of money?

"But... I really wanted it! And... all of it... wasn't that a lot of money?" Ai asked. "And... and... All of it?!"

Ai shut her eyes tightly. She... she had really wanted that manga!

Lucille thought about this, playing with a loose strand of hair with her free hand. So the child didn't want to miss anything? Then...

Soon enough, Nana had made her way to the stands, cutely requesting to reach the front and being granted access by sympathising viewers. Well, there were quite a few that didn't seem to notice her, but that was their problem, and she finally got a decent view of the current fight anyway. That guy who ditched her at the shop was busy fighting.

"Kick his ass!" Nana yelled at Ariella. The bigger the beatdown that guy got for his horrendous actions, the happier she would feel! No one denied her the things Nana wanted!

As the supersonic waves struck the Prinny, it was blasted clear down by the higher opponent. "Not cool, Dood!" The thing exclaimed as it flailed and smashed into the ground. A split second later, Invisible Air knocked Yakumo away from his opponent. Honestly, a gust of wind wasn't what he was expecting. As he bounced along the ground, the boy snatched at the lump of smashed Prinny and activated one of its abilities.

"Magichange! Prinny Bow!" With a flash of light, a bow had appeared in the white haired youth's hand, looking a bit rubbery and not at all lethal. Pointing upwards, he launched an exploding trio of arrows upwards towards the Zubat. Even if it did miss the Pokemon, it would arc and then err downwards...

Elly

"U-uh.." she tried to form words as Kirai leaned on her shoulder. A thought sprung up, which was along the lines of Get the hell off of me, but she didn't follow through with it. Instead, she listened to what the evil magical girl had to say.

Her eyes widened, becoming as round as dinner plates. She was smarter, more powerful, and better looking than Ai? A quick glance to the latter and then a return to the former. She had a hard time disagreeing, and she did buy all of the magical girl manga in the store. Wait, that was a tell-tale sign that she was evil! "H-hey," she said, taking a step forward to the yelling Ai, "Can you calm down? I'll help you find another book store, okay?" she said with a nervous smile, extending her hand out.

Ariella

The small, blue-winged creature zipped down from the sky, trying to avoid the incoming projectiles. One dodge to the side, he avoided the first arrow. A barrel roll which met with more than unfavorable results. Right into the second arrow, which exploded upon impact. The Zubat screamed in agony before it vanished into thin air.

Forget about the bat Ariella, focus on the boy in front of you!

With Invisible Air in hand, the girl sprinted forward, moving her legs as fast as they would taker her.

Closer... closer... closer.. closer!

"HAAAAAA!!!!" she swung the blade down into the ground for a second time. A massive gale escaped, more vicious than the first. It expanded outward, threatening to hit the boy once again.

Before the gales could completely wallop the boy once more, the remainder of the bombs fell back down to earth and promptly combusted, resulting in two explosive clouds of smoke that was then jostled by Invisible Air. The results was a smokescreen which blasted about the stadium to obstruct the opponents' view of each other. Blinking once in surprise, the boy decided to use the accident to his advantage by hiding in the thicker parts of the smoke. Hopefully, the girl wouldn't be able to find him all that fast as he prepared his second card. "Fusion..."

Dark Spellian Kirai, friend to all living things and definitely not the one who sold your dog to the Korean restaurant

"Yes, all of it!" cackled Kirai, waving the bag just in front of Ai to induce maximum despair. "And I'm afraid you'll find that this is the only bookstore in the area that sells manga! Kyahaha~!"

The witch giggled as she skipped around her nemesis, taunting her by swinging the bag around as she went. "You don't get any maaangaaa~ You don't get any maaangaaa~ You don't get any maaang-"

Rrrrip.

"-Wait, that doesn't sound good."

Her taunting was far too intense for the fully stuffed bag, however, which ripped on the third circling of Ai and exploded, showering the area in the store's entire inventory of magical girl manga.

"Wah! That wasn't supposed to happen!"

"Akiyama Akiko," replied Akiko, introducing herself just as sleepily as she had said everything else. "But... I'm not gonna sleep... I have... I have a match later and I need to be awake."

Ai stared for several moments as all the various magical girl manga scattered the ground, blinking a few times in confusion. The bag had torn... that meant she could grab some of the manga! Kirai couldn't possibly carry all of these herself! It was her win!

And then she would pay her rival for them, since stealing was wrong. The price tags were on them, so she'd be able to pull it off.

She immediately scrambled to pick up several volumes and cradle them in her arms, trying to get ones that she didn't already have. Though doubles weren't much of an issue.

Ariella

The bombs fired by Yakumo exploded. The resulting debris and smoke fogged her vision. "Where are you?" she said to herself, her gaze shifting from left to right. She gripped Invisible Air tightly, causing another wave of wind to move forward and extend outward. The smokes screen disipated, at least from her surroundings. This was working against her. She had two extremely powerful, high-ranked cards in her arsenal. The main problem? She didn't want to waste them. They were her tickets to victory. If she wasted one or the other, it was all over for her.

I can't waste anything... dammit., she cursed to herself in thought. No other choice and no alternative, she charged forward into the remaining clouds of smoke, swinging Invisible Air in succession. Each swing of the sword caused yet another series of gusts to burst out. With time, the smokescreen was completely gone.

Elly

Ignored by the one girl in front of her, her eyes switched to the clutter of manga on the sidewalk. "Oh boy!" she forgot about the Composite Magical Girl in front of her and bent down.

What am I doing?, she thought. ''Oh right, helping." she continued with the work, grabbing everything she could before she stood up.

"H-here..." she said, offering the books to Kirai. "Get another bag, please...!" wow, was it really that heavy?

"Won't you be more awake later if you sleep now and get woken up in time for the match?" Lucille asked, beginning to wonder if it would be better for this girl's health to pick her up, find a sleeping draught somewhere, and drug her. She'd miss the match but at least she'd get some sleep...

"Destroy him!" Nana cheered for Ariella, rather energetically at that. She certainly looked animated for someone with enough bandages to pass for a mummy. And she was most definitely on the female warrior's side. And with a totally good and justified reason, as well!

At this, the shy girl's patience was at an end, and she made a move to scoop up the obstinate child and cuddle her into getting some sleep. She'd see that there was no danger of anything's going wrong if she fell asleep. Lucille had a notable soft spot for children; this ironically made her much more eager to disregard what they wanted in order to give them what they needed. Like a little rest.

As the smoke dissipated, a curious sight was there to behold. Yakumo stood out tall and straight... clad in a Prinny costume. In his hand was a baseball bat, and the fire in his eyes was blazing in anticipation. Fusion completed. Grinning wickedly and uncharacteristically, the white haired lad swung his own weapon to fire a vacuum wave off with the blunt object. It seemed that fusing with a damnable soul had its repercussions.

Ariella

Ariella was on edge. The smoke was gone, and what was she greeted with two seconds later? A large vacuum wave fired off by her opponent. Act fast, act fast...!, a glowing card appeared in her hand. She crushed it, resulting in a strange phenomena. Her own figure distorted before recollecting itself into its original image. A teenage girl wielding an invisible sword.

The wave crashed into Ariella, sending her flying back and through the air. She tumbled and rolled, almost like a lifeless rag doll. Wait, it was a lifeless rag doll. The Substitute dissipated, becoming dust in the wind.

"EX-!!!!" Ariella, more than thirty feet in the air, held a glowing blade. The invisible sword showed its true form. A brilliant, golden blade capable of creating a tower of pure, destructive light. "-CALIBUR!!!!!!!"she swung the sword down. A massive wave of energy burst forth. It was a light of pure death. If it missed, the shockwave and destruction caused by the attack itself would be enough to get her an upper hand. Her main worry was if he had the ability to completely block it, but that was unlikely. If he survived the attack, she had one last trump card.

All or nothing... PLEASE HIT!

Nathan had raised an eyebrow as he saw one of the combatants was suddenly garbed in a odd costume, not to mention the fact that they were wielding a baseball bat. It was very unusual, to say the least, but perhaps they felt that would give them the upper hand. The shockwave certainly seemed to do its' work, hitting the girl and - it turned out that, contray to expectations, it was merely a doppelganger designed to take a hit and then reveal its' true form.

He had to admit he was impressed by that particular piece of trickery. If he faced Ariella, he would need to keep an eye out for that. The girl's status rose even further in his eyes as he saw her make use of a truly impressive weapon. He started to go over potential counters in his mind, but he stopped himself before he got carried away. Whatever would happen would happen; there was no need to get worked up beforehand. For now he could just enjoy the sights.
