Seated upon the ebony throne, a horned giant contemplated his next move. A glass bowl of wine colored liquid swirled about in his lethally sharp claws. The upper portion of his body was hidden by the natural darkness of his part of the throne room, save for two smoldering embers that revealed the location of his eyes. Overall, a pervading aura of a calm but coiled predator emanated from the great being, his silenct presence speaking great volumes more than any words.
At his feet, four male humanoids knelt down on one knee, each with a fist meeting the ground and their other hand clasped to their left breasts. They remained as still as statues, diligent and steadfast.
"My sons... what news from the world of mortals?" The behemoth rumbled at last, a baritone voice of primal power that swept across the room in steady waves.
"Lord, the other Apostles have begun interfering in the world of Arad like you have guessed." The orange skinned son stated, his head now unbowed and looking at the red eyes of his father. "All has been as foreseen."
"Excellent..." An amused rumble rang out as his premonition turned true. "Very well, nudge the mortals. Our plan must now be set in motion." Though said lightly, such words were expected to be carried out perfectly.
"Yes, Dragon King Bakal." All four voices chiming in this time, the tyrant's sons speaking in complete unison. "All shall be done according to your will..." A moment later, none were left in the room save for Bakal, who simply let about a thunderous peal of laughter. His great voice rang out in the empty room, great and terrible as he awaited what was to come.
In a world that spread about underneath a giant pentacle which held up the sky ocean in the atmosphere, all was not well. Strange happenings have been erupting about the previously peaceful settlement of Hendon Myre with alarming intensity, many due to the raids of goblins and Taus; the latter giant minotaurs with a penchant for consuming the flesh of anything smaller than they. Due to the town being surrounded by dark forests, it was safe to say that there was an abundance of monsters lurking about in the dark woods for prey to wander into their midst.
As a small band of goblinkind and Taus roved their woodland territory, a sudden crashing sound caught their attention. Glancing about, they saw an opened patch of foliage that let despicable sunlight through. Grunting in disgust, the monsters saw what had caused the event to occur. Glancing at the bushes, they found what they sought.
A young woman dressed in white and blue garb was lying immobile in the shrub, her blonde hair torn out of its bun and scattered about her face. It was obvious to the pack of starving monsters that the human female wsas unconscious, and thus easily slaughtered food. Among the red meat the carnivores enjoyed, human female was highest upon their list. Grunting, the larger bullish predators prodded their green underlings into action, which scurried towards the girl with unsheathed stone knives. Though crude, the weapons were still wickedly sharp and rather able to ensure that those struck by its uneven maw would have a very unlikely recovery if they survived. As the things got ever more closer, the nonlucid Gunner said a simple statement within her personal nightmare. "My princess..."
