Oh sweet! Kara's finally getting a game, with what sounds like her original voice actress. Watch David Cage fuck it up yet again. Or maybe break his pattern and produce a game with actual gameplay rather than pretty visuals.

Considering it's him, I highly doubt it.

[up]Kojima managed to make a Metal Gear with almost no cutscenes whatsoever. But then, his reputation is pretty much the opposite of Cage's.

Cage's works are better when thought of, not as games, but as visual novels on a game system.

If nothing else, this will be the greatest Detroit has ever looked.

Visual novels with an incomprehensible plot, gratuitous sex and romance, and weird gameplay?

Why are we talking about Fate Stay Night?

In fact, Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls are actually listed on the Visual Novel page.

Please for the love of god actually have game overs. Or, barring that, don't tell anyone that you won't have them.

Nothing kills tension more than knowing there's no way you can't lose.

See, the point of BTS isn't to "win" or "lose". The point is to watch Ellen Page suffer.

Detroit's got a long way to go before it can even be considered sub-human.tongue

It really should just stick with trying to become a robot.

I gotta say, I like how you could see the Ren Cen in the background of a couple shots (one of my biggest pet peeves is a work of fiction being set in Detroit and they leave out the Ren Cen) and the giant fist statue thing. And what looked like, I think, the statue in front the DIA. Oh, and the requisite shot of urban, Fallout-esque decay, lol.

So, how many creepy little girl Kara moments we gonna get?

Yes, I know she's a robot.

That will not stop Kage.

Let's see...there'll be a gratuitous sex scene, multiple scenes that might end in some sort of rape, her being abused when people find out she's an android, her dressed in nothing for an extended period of time for no reason, her using any superhuman abilities she has because she's an android to get rid of a large number of police...

I could not care less about the game itself, I'm just glad it looks like they are doing Detroit justice. Aside from the fact it wouldn't get the money to renovate itself into a high tech hub - City Council would embezzle it all first, lol.

Most likely. I've heard that the actual city is rather nice, it's the suburbs that are the shitty, crime-filled part.

Good. That should take care of most of the problems his past games had in writing.

We'll see. Shyamalan didn't write some of his movies and they still turned out terrible.

All the other people will be assimilated into the Kage.

Librarian: yeah downtown is pretty nice, and the suburbs can be nice, depending on what one it is. Royal Oak is nice, for example.

I know I snark, but I would like this game to be good. Cage does have genuinely good ideas and his work occasionally glimmers with talent. And I like how he actually portrays the homeless positively. And he does have female protagonists, as problematic as they are with the rapey stuff. And the shower scenes, all jokes aside, are something every Frenchman does. It's like not drinking tea in Britain or not putting a bomb in a potato in Ireland.

It just... You know.

Panthers and blackouts and Underwater Chinese ghost bases, among others.

I'm not saying I have high hopes, I just think Cage's weaknesses will show up less.

I always heard that Detroit was so crappy even movies showing it as a post-apocalyptic hellhole (I'm looking at you, Robocop!) weren't filmed there because it wasn't safe enough for the film crews.

A couple things...

1. Heavy Rain was awesome, one of the best games I've ever played. Yes, played. Because a movie would not have the same impact as stuff like The Lizard or Shark Trials.

2. David Cage is the Devil/Hitler/spawn of the Devil sodomizing Hitler is really old at this point.

3. I was born in Detroit and lived all of my life in Michigan up until 2009. After fifth grade I moved from Detroit to the suburb of Westland. Detroit's shithole-ness depends on what part you come from. I lived in Southwest, which is notorious, even among Michiganders. It's why my grandmother moved us when she could. She didn't want me going to the local middle/high school which had a rather shitty reputation.

I look forward to this game. I have a shiny new PS 4. I can play t his along with Heavy Rain PS 4 whenever that comes out.

No, it's not that we think Cage is the devil...We think he's a hack.
