Sally smiled at the other psychic type. "Hi. Um, since kidnapping's a bad thing that only bad people do and I'm a kid...would that make it-" she paused to yawn. "Would that make it bad for me to take a nap?"

Meanwhile, a young woman drifted into the amphitheater. Marilyn looked around for a vacant seat and- Was that kadabra standing on her chair? She floated over to the girl. "You're gonna block the view of the people behind you if you do that."

"Um... you'll learn about it when you're older, Eve," Claire quickly replied. Ah, there was the guild's amphitheater, up ahead. Perfect! She glanced back at Lucy to make sure the Ho-oh-shaped Ditto was still following her. Lucy was a bit easily distracted at times. She continued onward towards the Guild building, guiding Eve along.

Sephie slowing turned towards the person questioning her. A Mismagius, it seemed. She placidly regarded the older girl for a few moments before speaking. "Sephie will not be able to see if Sephie sits, because Sephie has a curse on her that makes big people sit in front of her. Sephie has determined that this is the truth. Sephie must now stand. If people look hard enough, they can see through Sephie."

Obviously this was the case. Isn't that what the phrase 'I can see right through you' meant?

"...Huh? Kidnapping?" Kylie blinked in surprise. He slowly climbed to his feet, looking at the sleepy little Munna girl. "Uh... I don't know of any bad people around here, but I wouldn't recommend sleeping out in the open." The Kirlia said, smiling a little sheepishly since that was just what he had been doing.

"Wait, where are your parents? Shouldn't you be sleeping with them or something?" Kylie asked with concern.

Rio found his way to the amphitheatre eventually, the mountain-dwelling Riolu had been distracted by all the stuff she saw in town. It was all so new and lacking in Tyranitars, which was a super awesome plus!

So anyway, Rio entered and glanced around, seeing a large collection of Pokemon here already. She wondered just who would be partnered with her. Hopefully someone worthy!

"Oh... Um..." Natsu stammered as she regarded the nearby stranger that materialized out of nowhere. "I'm... Natsu." She stated as she slightly curled inwards, her eyes peeking at the Ghost type with a bit of nervousness. "N-nice to meet you..."

It was at that point two events happened quite close to one another. The first was the appearance of Clarice. A familiar face that the Charmander was glad to see. "Oh... I'm fine." A bit of strength crept back in her voice as the Bulbasaur came near enough to talk to. "And you?" A small smile accompanied this statement. The Bulbasaur was an individual that Natsu liked too, and one her own age.

A few moments later, loud scream was let loose and a blue spinning blur was seen jumping atop the stage. At the last moment, the man slipped sideways and fell upon his rib with a resounding crash. "Bilgewater! I thought that I was gonna ace that entrance!" The large man bemoaned as he propped himself up and immediately spring up to evenly distribute his frame upon the foundation of two feet once more. "Forget what you saw a few seconds ago." The Swampert uttered, his skin tight diver's suit fabric gleaming in the afternoon shine. Now that he was properly up and about, those who were seated in the amphitheater would see he was a particularly muscled specimen, with blue hair arranged in spikes. Whites and orange were seen imprinted upon the maroon blue of his suit at certain places, and the man had a wide and easy grin on his face.

"Anyhow, the name's Levi. I'll be your informant on this fine day." The baritone voice boomed out, filled with mirth. "The missies in charge are busy right now, so... they asked little old me to impart the news." As the man rambled on, the Charmander seated in the benches slowly hunched over and held her knees up to her chin, her eyes peering at her big brother in a sort of shocked fascination. "Anyhoo, as you all know, we've got a problem. The terrain in Giyo is going a wahoo and crazy, and Pokemon in the nearby areas are being attacked and abducted by the wingnuts in these Mystery Dungeons. So far, it's been discovered that we can reverse the effects of the Dungeons by battling those within, yes. Those of you who have come here... Y'all should be proud that you're willing to go help out your fellow Pokemon. Thank you."

"As for the reason why you've all been called here: a new Mystery Dungeon has cropped up a few miles south of our fair town, dubbed the Worrying Woodlands. It's not as dangerous as the others, and most indigneous denizens that come from there aren't too bothersome. Still, the young'uns are getting antsy and it is Negi Town's turn to let a new generation of Explorers go forth into the world. Please... take care of them, those veterans who have returned from the other Dungeons." The boisterous man said this request quite humbly, his earlier good spirit almost gone. "To get to the woods, please follow the river's current until you spy a stunted and burnt redwood. From there, head a little ways north and you shall arrive at the the entrance to Worrying Woods. Please investigate the place to find a certain something. News have come from the frontier that says there might be hope of reverting the terrains to what they once were. Seeing as this is a low leveled place, it's the perfect way to see if it's applicable, as well as quite easy to escape from. It's the best situation we can hope for. Will this turn the tide against these disasters? We don't know, but surely this mission will give us all we need to know. Of course, you all are being asked to investigate, not forced. Those of you who don't want to can simply stay here. And... that's all I gotta say. Not a stickler for fancy speeches, I am." Levi said almost sheepishly, scratching the back of his head with a digit.

As soon as the blue clad man lumbered off the stage, a resurgence of conversation burst forth once more and those seated began to discuss, argue, and exclaim what their course of action was. Natsu stood stock still after hearing her adopted brother's speech, hardly believing her ears. A possible cure to the Mystery Dungeons? Of course she was willing to go out and try to find a way to fix the disaster zones. Even if horribly shy about other people, the Charmander still cared about the world and others to take such a risk.

"M-M-Mama... are we going into the dungeon?" Eve asked, clinging tightly to the Jolteon and looking... well, justifiably afraid. She didn't really know how to fight! And... and... she didn't want to be attacked by feral Pokémon and go mad and hurt people! That would be bad and wrong and bad and... she'd never even tackled a Pidgey!

Lucy blinked a few times, then knelt and hugged the panicking Eevee, wrapping her arms around Claire too for good measure, "We'll find someone nice who'll play with you whilst we're down there, Eve, don't worry."

If anyone looked... well, they might be somewhat confused to see what looked like one of the legendary Pokémon hugging two Eeveelutions.

— Even as the older Swampert spoke, another was already on their way. A strange shape raced towards the town from over the noonday horizon. While the initial part of this shape was obviously a purple hot air balloon, the black and spidery attachment was a puzzler, limbs splayed out to the side.

Anyone close enough to get a better look would see that the latter was a Mon in full armour with blades worked in, clinging to the side of the gondola. Standing in the basket, warily watching this dark passenger, was the vessel's captain, whose colouration (translucence nonwithstanding) marked her as a Drifblim. A rather aggrieved Drifblim, if the tired look on her face was anything to go by. The Mon on the side spoke, the voice masculine, accented, deep, and serious.—

"This would have been easier if you had let me stand."

—The captain rolled her eyes, staring on ahead. Her own voice was higher,a little gravelly, and dry in tone.—

"Sorry. Thin-skinned. Best seat you could get."

— There was silence for a moment.—

"...We are closing on the dropsite."

"Uh huh. Should be just a couple more minutes, Herr Spiky."

—Another pause.—

"We are over the dropsite."

"Okay, what in the world do you mean..."

—The armoured Mon let go, hurtling downward like a Graveller rolled straight off a cliff. The captain flinched, grabbing onto her hat to keep it from flying off, then made a sigh that sounded like a balloon air discharge, straightening her cap. —

"I Hate a crazy passenger... Here we go."

— As he fell, the armoured Mon stretched himself out, bootheels pointed down, back arched, and armblades ready. The Drifblim, meanwhile, made her own, far more controlled descent, the balloon shrinking rapidly. Oddly enough, the flying Ghost wasn't making an effort to catch her erstwhile passenger, instead straightening her short grey hair and uniform with the aid of a handmirror set in a fob watch.

The armoured one shut his eyes, right before he smashed feet-first into the ground, the impact noise of steel breaking through stone echoing throughout town. Hovering a few feet above, the Drifblim coughed, waving her hand to blow the cloud of dust away. Once that was done, it became clear that the passenger was still alive. Not only alive, but standing, rolling his helmeted head on its neck and shrugging his shoulders. He took a deep breath, attempted to step forward... And found that he couldn't. He pulled with his legs again. Still nothing. He was stuck about a foot into the ground, it appeared. The Mon said nothing, simply giving the Driflim a hawkeyed look. She sighed again, muttering, but took ahold of one arm. Her balloon reinflated to maximum size, and she yanked him up, a large hole left in the ground where he'd cleared it. —

"Pawniard, leave the airborne stunts to the fliers, okay? They'll want to strangle you less."

— The Mon gave a curt nod, eyes already set on his destination.—

"Thank you, Madam Windhart. I will keep that in mind."

— With no further ado, he marched onward, towards the amphitheatre. The Drifblim landed quietly behind him, her balloon having silently receded into her handbag. She followed, but at a distance she hoped was sufficient to say that she was unaffiliated with the Pawniard.

As he approached the amphitheatre, the armoured Mon tensed up, his yellow eyes narrowing whilst they roved over the many present. Still, on he went, stopping at the perimeter with both armblades drawn up over his sallet helm to form an "A".—

"Greetings, explorers. I am Georg Rangefinder of and here on behalf of the Umber Pack."

— A few seconds later, the Drifblim waved at the rest, hat once again again at a jaunty angle.—

"Hiya, Melia Windhart here, and a little more lightweight. Did I hear something about the Woods around here? Tincan was kinda loud."

"Hey, did you hear that?" Clarice said, poking Natsu, "We might be able to cure the area this time! We need to try our best, huh?"

She was smiling a bit, excited to hear such good news.

Angela raised an eyebrow, "That was quite an entrance..." She said to herself, "Way the hell too showy though, they aren't the most important people here..."

"Come onnnn," Bella said, clearly still wanting to go tease that Luxio.

"Did they say we can cure the forest by beating up the things inside?" Sella asked, looking at the other two.

"Yes, he did," Angela said, leaning away from Bella and putting her upper body on Sella's side. Bella pouted and decided to take the hint they weren't moving from here until they all agreed on who to travel with into the forest. Bella laid sideways across the seats and put her head on Angela's lap.

"So who do you want to travel with, then, Angela?" Angela gave a non-commital shrug. It was odd that they bothered speaking aloud, or at least would be odd to some as they could clearly communicate thoughts to each other but not everyone knew that, but it seemed they enjoyed talking.

"Ah... It's like Lucy said, Eve," Claire said, in an attempt to give her voice the most encouraging and comforting tone as she spoke to her daughter, smiling warmly. She didn't want her daughter frightened or worried too much, but neither Lucy nor Claire herself could afford to hire someone to take care of Eve while they were in the dungeons. "You'll be fine, we'll find someone to play with you and you'll stay plenty far away from any danger!"

Sephie stared at the stage for several moments, even after the announcer had left it. After seemingly attempting to bore a hole in the wall with her gaze, she gathered her haphazard thoughts and spoke up. "Sephie believes that bending the dungeons will stop them. The dungeons do not have souls, so they can be bent just like spoons. Sephie bends spoons all the time, she knows it can be done!"

Marilyn had missed most of the Swampert's speech, having been too distracted trying to decipher Sephie's erm...was logic the right word? It looked like it was trying to resemble logic, but failing horribly. Giving up on that and just deciding the Kadabra was one of those amusingly insane pokemon, she smiled at the girl.

"Oh? But how do you know that they're soulless?" she asked.

"Well, mother and father aren't home at the moment, and I don't think mother'd like me sleeping on her shoulders when she's shopping. At least, she didn't last time. And if I don't go on her shoulders, I might get stepped on, so I came out here where there isn't anyone to step on me. But I don't know if I can take a kid nap without being a bad pokemon."

Quilton listened to Levi's speech - sounded like Hildegarde had been detained by paperwork, or other things - and watched the rookies talk amongst themselves. He hemmed and hawed for a few minutes - he had normally left talking to people to his siblings (but that was the point of splitting up wasn't it?) - before packing his sketchbook away. From the front row it was just a skip and a jump onto the stage. He looked at the crowd, all his anxiety returning.

Deep breath, Quilton thought to himself and didn't notice his flames ignite when he did.

"Okay! Settle down! You heard Levi. I recommend first off separating into groups of four to six or so. That way we can spread through the dungeon without anyone ending up on their own. I've been an Explorer for three years, so I'm happy to answer any questions. However I haven't personally been in a mystery dungeon so I can't tell you much about them."

Jaiden rolled his head forward from where it had ended up with him cloud-gazing. So there was a dungeon to explore? It didn't sound like the one that had covered his home, but it might teach him something about how to rescue his family. Worrying Woodlands sounded... worrisome. Bugs and grass types weren't a good match for him. He'd have to make sure to pair up with a fire or flying type.

He stretched out his arms in front of him. Hopefully someone would have a plan.

Pagliacci sat and listened in silence. The Swampert had made quite the entrance, that was for sure. Most of the stuff he told them was, at this point, old news to him. Creepy dungeons, kidnapping, etcetera. The rescue part was new to him, though. He hadn't thought of horrible beatings as a viable cure for anything, but there you go.

Their first assignment didn't seem that challenging. Seemed like they'd pulled out their weakest job for the newbies, which he could appreciate. Hopefully, the rest of their missions, if there were any, would be as simple. Could never get his hopes up, though. Always led to disappointment and he'd found that an attitude like that wasn't very conductive to comedy. Couldn't tell jokes about rainbows and suchlike. He'd tried. Though the cynical route hadn't turned out so well for him either. Truth be told, he was still trying to find his voice, so to speak. He almost laughed at the thought. A mime, finding his voice. He could use that.

But such ramblings could be saved for later. A couple newcomers had arrived and introduced themselves, a rather intimidating fellow clad from head to toe in thick metal armor and an unnaturally pale woman in a captain's uniform. He gave the pair a polite nod. "Well, glad to see you folks here. You're just in time to miss everything." He said, his tone light. Then the Kadabra girl sitting some distance away from him made a rather... questionable suggestion. He'd heard that Kadabra could be a little weird, but he hadn't expected this. "I... don't think it works that way."

Rio listened to the Swampert intently once she'd finished snickering at his entrance. Wasn't a whole lot to say, really. Find dungeons, fix problems, be awesome for doing it. Still, a low-levelled area to fix? Rio would prefer something... just a touch harder. She had been training all her life! Surely she could skip a tier or two?

...Ah, whatever. She could easily blow through this woodland area anyway, then pokemon would see how awesome she was. Now... perhaps she should look for a partner?

"Uh... right." Kylie answered, unsure of what to say. "Well... I can't just leave you all alone, even if there wasn't any bad Pokemon." The Kirlia continued, glancing around the area. He held a hand out for the young Munna. "Come with me, I'll take you back to..."

"That's... not as bad as I thought." of course Alicia was referring to no casualties. All they had to do was beat the snot out of them? That method worked for her, as long as they weren't kids. She'd do everything in her power to help, but if it meant she had to lay a hand on a kid... not happening. No way, nada, not going to fly with her. Well, she had her seat in the middle of the ampitheatre, and she was unaware of one of the Magneton triplets wanting to annoy her. She loved kids, so it's... a bit hard to get on her bad side. Unless you threaten one of her own, you're a friend to her.

"Okay." she smiled, slapping herself in the face with both hands. Why did she do that? Perhaps to bring herself back down to reality. "Okay, okay." she mumbled, her eyes darting around the room in every direction. She looked at every present Pokemon, every seat, the roof, the floor, her sense of perception was indeed something else. She was just confirming something.

"Ohhh..." her moods and interests drifted between extremes in a single instant. "What was I doing again?" she mumbled, placing a finger to her mouth. "Oh, oh, right, protecting... stuff, the mission." her smile widened, and then she nodded to reassure herself.

Sasaki had kept his distance from the crowd, having watched the announcement from a distance. He adjusted the scabbards on his back, preparing himself mentally for the mission. They said it would not be very difficult, but that was no excuse for letting himself relax. He had answered the call intending to be of any assistance he could offer, and if it was true that the Dungeons could be dispelled, that would be a great relief to all Pokemon. He hung back for a while yet, planning to see if there would be any more announcements before they were to move out.

"Y-yes! L-let's do our best!" Natsu stuttered out to Clarice just as excitedly, before flinching at both the sudden entrance of the mysterious duo from the sky and Quilava going about on onstage and making the sudden proclamation. It was sound in advice, though apparently not much people took notice of the active fire type.

Seeing as the directions toward the dungeon were straight forward and simple enough, the Charmander glanced at the Bulbasaur and smiled. "L-let's go right now while there's still light in the sky. A Mystery Dungeon at night would be scary..." She said with a shudder, before slowly pushing out of her seat to begin walking along the river's edge.

Meanwhile, a flamboyantly dressed Chatot came about and began relating word for word of Levi's speech in perfect detail, due to her species' ability of copying other's voices and words with alarming accuracy. Apparently this particular one was the Guild's news recorder.

Rio began to wander the ampitheatre, trying to find the perfect team mates, It occurred to the boyish-looking Riolu that she wasn't entirely knowledgeable about most of them. As long as someone could live on a mountain, she'd know of them, and for the most part, Rio could determine type... but the actual species?

Like that tall woman with the robe. Presumably fire type, but nothing more other than that. The girl in blue with the nice breasts... water? No, not even close... The girl with long, blonde hair and a star on her head? Hm... maybe, just maybe, a psychic type...

...Ack, why search? Why not let her charms and obvious strength speak for itself? Clearing her throat, Rio spoke up, "Heya! Anyone need an awesome fighting type? I'm an awesome fighting, so come with me! I'll beat up everything, from Geodude to Tyranitar!"

Thank Arceus she'd never actually encounter a Tyranitar or anything like it, though. They were all still in the mountains, which she'd left.

Unnoticed by the other explorers, a young Aron sat in the topmost row of the amphitheatre; he leaned forward in a hunch, unable to sit perfectly against the straight back of the chair due to the small spike jutting from the back of his shell, and had largely ignored the antics and conversations going on elsewhere in the auditorium in favour of focusing on what was truly important at the moment. And focus he had, staring at the Swampert through the round eyeholes of his silvery helmet and listening intently to what he had to say.

This was Cob, and he bore a serious expression which was quite out of place for a child his age. As Levi described the dungeon which had manifested a few miles from this town, the boy's cool blue eyes narrowed faintly in disappointment; the Worrying Woodlands, eh? That did not sound particularly promising; forests weren't exactly known for being rich in metals and ore, after all, and if he wanted to evolve Cob would need to eat as much of the stuff as he could get his hands on. Still, he supposed things could be worse; he recalled from his mother's bedtime stories that most forests were filled with Grass- and Bug-types—he was sure he could handle those, given that he was partly a Steel-type.

The boy's train of thought came to a brief halt as Levi mentioned that no one was obligated to check out these Worrying Woodlands if they didn't want to and that they were welcome to simply stay here; had things been different, Cob might have taken the Swampert up on his hospitality. But he could not; if Cob wanted to evolve, he would need more than just a steady diet of metal—he had to become stronger, too, and the only way to do that was with experience. If he simply sat this one out, it would take even longer than it already was...and as people were counting on him, he couldn't afford to delay.

Once the Swampert had finished his speech and the other members of the audience began to chatter amongst themselves, Cob stood up without a word and slowly made his way towards the exit; a few miles was quite a way to go, and if he wanted to reach these Worrying Woodlands before the evening it was best to go right away. Out the corner of his eye, the young Aron noticed that some of the other explorers had begun forming into groups and socializing with one another, but he paid them little heed; there was little time to waste, and in his opinion stopping to socialize with others was a waste of time at the moment.

He had just been about to leave when a loud boom—like something very heavy crashing into the ground—rang out from somewhere in the distance, and in spite of himself Cob could not help but jump a little in alarm. No sooner had he done this than the young boy's cheeks flushed faintly with embarrassment, and he grit his teeth together in frustration; he hoped that no one had seen that, because if somebody saw that little things like noise could scare him, they might try to stop him from going. A short while later a tall and imposing Pokemon dressed in dusty armour appeared at the edge of the amphitheatre, and somehow Cob knew on some level that this was the one responsible for that noise.

As the newcomer introduced himself, Cob could not help but shoot the older, imposing-looking Steel-type*

a frosty look. A short distance behind this Georg stood a transparent woman dressed in purple; this was something that Cob had never seen or heard of before, but he refused to let his curiosity be piqued just yet—not until he was through staring at the current object of his ire.

Besides, it wasn't as if the boy could go just yet, what with Georg standing directly in his path...
