Yuna shifted nervously from foot to foot as she looked around the town. Messing with one of the bottles of water she always carried with her, she idly traced patterns on its side. She glanced over at her Servant for some sign of what to do—were they just to wait for everyone to arrive?
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.htmlShiki twiddled her fingers a bit. She didn't have much preparation to do, since she was basically just there to summon a servant and then if something got too close, to cut it. However, the servant she summoned was an absolutely cute girl, she'd have never expected such a thing. And then there were the others! She just couldn't take it. She saw another servant walk up to hers, and listened in but said nothing.
Kamiko sat cross legged with her sachel of medicinal tools. "Hee~" She pulled out a scalpel, and looked it over, "Hm..." She put it away and continued looking through her various little items. "Rider, are you prepared for what we have before us~?" She asked, as she seemed to be playing with some thread before rolling it back up.
Berserker was quiet. For the moment, nothing to say. Nothing to do. Just waiting. This was a good moment. She could stand back, and protect her master, and prepare to fight. She was simply standing there, her hair covering her eyes, her expression stoic. She had no need to act at the moment, though anything threatening her master would find a mace full of lightning in their face, as she had already decided she liked her quite a bit.
Token Loli!"I was summoned ready to fight," Rider answered, looking at the ends of her braids. Functional, yes, but she couldn't help but feel that they looked somewhat... silly, especially in this outfit. At least it wouldn't get in the way of riding anything. Being incapable of fulfilling her class function would be... awkward. Imagine if she'd somehow ended up with a dress covered in armour more recent than she was!
Hitomi seemed to be busy trying to put something back together and was sat cross-legged on the floor as she did so. She'd brought the jumble of pieces with her and had been steadily trying to connect them since she arrived.
Adelinda grinned. So, all these people where her comrades? Great! They all looked pretty awesome... but, of course, no Servant was as good as Berserker. Berserker was the best Servant, the one she would surely win with every time! No monster could stand in Berserker's way and live to tell the tale! This she was sure of. Not only did she have Berserker, but Eins, Zwei, and Drei were here too! She hadn't... actually asked them to come with her to fight the monsters , but she was going to. At any rate, no Monster would stand a chance with her and Berserker around.
"Are you ready, Bahsahkah?"
Meanwhile, Caster stood beside her Master. There were a few reasons that she was so focused on what it was that her Master was constructing. One was that she was genuinely curious about what her Master was creating, and the other was that there were men here, and she didn't want any of them coming over to talk to her. It wasn't that they would have an foul intent, but Caster didn't want to speak with them, she was frightened of them. So it was best to avoid that whenever possible... the girls here looked nice, though! Caster was prepared for all this, as well. She knew she'd be facing Monsters, though she didn't know what type... But she was prepared!
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Yuna gave her Servant a small smile, twisting her hands as she put her bottle of water away.
"...Saber. Is there anything we have neglected in our preparations?" the raven-haired girl murmured.
"Now is our last chance, it seems. More people are arriving..."
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.html"M-me... c-cute?!" Astolfo stuttered out to the other Servant, his face as colored as ripened peach. "I-I'm not cute at all! I am a warrior, born to fight for a suitable lord and entrusted with the mission of routing any enemy that dare stand in the way. I can't be cute! I won't be feared or respected!" Words burst forth from the effeminate lad's mouth rapid fire, the Spirit having no need for breath.
"P-please take that back..." He said, glancing downwards and playing with his gauntlets, pressing the forefingers against each other. "I'm not cute... I'm supposed to be a warrior most terrifying..." He whispered, his voice lowering in volume now.
Atori sat with her back against a steep incline, a thermos in her hand. Unscrewing it, she poured a bit of the hearty seafood stew and and spooned some of the cream into her waiting mouth, eyes closing as she tasted the hearty mixture of shellfish flesh and chunks of vegetables swathed in thickened stock. It was a ritual, yes. If she were to die in the upcoming war, then at least she had her last meal. Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected.
Assassin sat next to his master, keeping one eye trained on her. He hoped she wasn't nervous. Being nervous could lead to making a mistake, and making a mistake was dangerous (and got you boiled alive, in his experience). He smiled warmly and turned to her, clearing his throat.
"So, Master, are you prepared for war?" He asked.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?Wil sighed as his wayward Archer went up and started sexually harrassing one of the other servants. Lancer most likely judging from the slim polearm that the young servant shouldered ever so delicately. Smoothing back his blond hair in exasperation Wil called out to Archer, "Hey now Archer what have I told you about harrassing other people? In particular I don't think you should be teasing little b-" Wil stopped that sentence right there, and grinned a little grin.
"Naw you know what? go right on ahead, You've been working hard preparing for the war, you deserve a little fun." If smiles could kill, the smirk on Wil's face would have gotten him convicted of first degree murder right then and there. To be honest he was starting to get used to his servant's philandering ways, though some come-uppance every now and then never hurt anybody.
Kamiko nodded, "Of course you were, that makes sense. I wonder when things will start? Hm..." She looked around and took note of everyone around in the area. Yes, it seemed that they were all there... right? Was she counting correctly? Actually, there were so many she wasn't sure. Oh well, more importantly she just had to make sure she was ready if someone got hurt. She looked in the sky, "They're supposed to fall from there, right? Hm..."
The robotic servant nodded, "Yes, Master," she replied in her odd tone of voice. Her speech did little to reveal any level of intelligence, "I am ready whenever, nothing will harm you, I promise,"
Shiki rubbed the back of her head, "Uh, I sure do have a strange servant..." she's cute though, so that made up for it, in Shiki's opinion.
Token Loli!"Indeed. When it is time to fight, you should either stay with me and my mount or remain behind someone durable, such as Saber and Berserker. As our only medic, it is imperative that you remain unharmed," Rider said, gazing up at the sky and awaiting the inevitable outpouring of monsters. Soon... soon she would have to fight despite a distinct lack of a weapon. Maybe the tinkerer would be able to give her something of use before the second fight?
Hitomi, for her part, was still absorbed in trying to fit the various pieces of her yuri detector together. The last model had told her how much gold was in an object or area but not yuri. Why was it so hard to make something that did what she had wanted?
So... it was that time, again, and almost exactly on schedule. The city was empty and soon... soon it would be seen if humanity was worthy to go on existing. After the last time, it seemed impossible that any heroes with strength and value enough to achieve that were left.
Only time would tell.
Yuna nodded.
"I believe I have enough provisions. Water will not be a problem, and it's easy to dehydrate food," she said quietly, indicating the backpack she had brought with her.
"...Ah, Saber. Do you need to eat? I brought plenty because I wasn't sure..."
...and she had been too shy to ask. It's not like it was a bunch of extra weight or anything.
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.htmlYuna blinked, a small but genuine smile curving her lips.
"...Then I would be happy to have a meal with you when we next stop," the magus said quietly. "Thank you for the compliment."
She quickly looked away to cover her slight embarassment.
"It seems we might be going soon..." Actually, it was pretty hard to tell. No one appeared to be moving.
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.htmlAdelinda grinned warmly at her Servant. This was wonderful. "Of course, Bahsahkah! I knew you'd never let me get hurt. Besides, I'd never fail to defend myself, and you won't fail to defend me, so I'm double-defended! We'll go into this and-"
Adelinda rapidly turned around, placing one hand on her hip and pointing forward dramatically with the other. "-CRUSH EVERY ENEMY IN OUR WAY!"
Kaguya, meanwhile, continued to watch her Master's tinkering. "Um... what are you making, Hitomi-san?"
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""Hey, where I came from, there were plenty of beautiful warriors. Well, in my army at least." Archer said, leaving out the fact that he didn't exactly have much say in who made up his army. "And there's no way we would've done half as well without them, just because you look good doesn't mean you can't be respected as a fighter. Okay?"
Ai looked around at the others. Most of them seemed to be talking amongst themselves. "Hmmm..."
She walked over to Shiki, seeing that the girl's servant was busy with someone else. She smiled and waved to the girl. "Hey, I haven't seen you around. I'm Ai, nice to meet you."
Burn up, hurricane of justice!"R-really?" Astolfo stammered, his eyes wide with hope. So warriors who are beautiful could be respected? This was the most wonderful of news! "So... what Orlando said was wrong! I really am a warrior who looks like a warrior!" The lad's mouth quivered as he attempted to keep a straight face, though his voice was growing ever more excited. Finally, his facade broke and a full blown grin came upon his face along with the beginnings of a blush. "Th-thank you, for enlightening me on how there can be different types of warriors." He stuttered out to Archer, happy and shy for snapping before the explanation. The Paladin's eyes face pointed towards his feet, and his index fingers met each other repeatedly.
"I am always prepared, I am." Atori responded back with a knowing tone, before gulping down more creamy white liquid. Dapperly patting at her mouth with a napkin, she glanced skywards. "And I still get something out of it... First hand experience at viewing the past, in battle even. What can be better than that for someone who strives to be an archaeologist?" Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected.
"Hm..." Kamiko put away her stuff and stood, slinging her backpack over her shoulder, "As the medic, I have to hide. That's much better than fighting though so I'm ok with that," she took a look at the mana in the air. It was so strong! So so so much stronger than anywhere she's ever been. She was practically running on unlimited energy at the moment, she could probably run circles around even the servants! Well not really, but still. The place was so thick with mana, she could both see it and taste it, and it was so strange to her.
What Kamiko wanted to do now though, was talk to that other little girl who looked about her own age (sort of). But she was completely at a loss for what to say, and a bit hesitant to leave her servant's side.
Berserker gave a small smile. Her master was... adorable, that was the word. She was definitely someone to take care of, "I have no doubts," She said, in her robotic tone, "That you and I will... take down all in our path,"
Shiki turned to the other girl, "Oh, hello Ai. I'm Shiki..." Was everyone here good looking? Ai had rather distracting features that Shiki was only sort of able to avoid looking at, "But no, uhm, I'm from England, actually, so you wouldn't have seen me before," Why did she pick Shiki to talk to of all people? Was this good or bad luck? How was her hair? As Shiki fiddled with her hair a bit these thoughts crossed her mind, but she then shook her thoughts mentally.
It is almost time to fight for your life, Shiki! She told herself mentally. She then absentmindedly touched her knife handle in her pocket.

Token Loli!

A small number of people gathered in the town square of Shinwamachi. A small, paved clearing surrounded by shrubs. In the middle of the square stood a tall, marble obelisk engraved with various names. A monument to those who had fallen in the past 100 years of the town's bloody history. Amongst the people were several mages, preparing for their first battle, hoping that by staying near the 'servants' they would improve their own odds of survival.
Archer smirked as he looked around at the other servants and masters. Part of him cursed his luck getting stuck with the only guy in the bunch, but at the same time there were so many cute girls here! He left his master's side and approached one of them.
"Hey there beautiful. Since we're going to be working together, how about you and I get better acquainted?" he said, winking at Lancer.
Ai sighed. Why did she have to take part in this stupid war? She'd much rather be at home with her manga. Besides, wasn't fighting these monsters supposed to be up to those 'servants'? She looked around, she recognised few of the people assembled, although no names really came into her mind.
