The void cruiser Andvaranaut had been making its slow but sure way out from the harbour town of Celestial Quay towards the glimmering spires of Eternova Citadel. Now on a normal day (or whatever consisted of a 'day' in the vast reaches of the Multiverse) a simple voyage from Celestial Quay to Eternova wouldn't need a 'slow but sure' pace (unless the Citadel was being particularly fussy about the ship's contents), but recent... circumstances had made a more discreet, less attention-grabbing approach all the more necessary.

Especially since no one dared to go via the regular route of the Citadel, lest they run into them.

So in this less charted region of the void, the ship sailed on, with nary a blip on the radar nor unsettling tremor. Everything so far seemed to be going fine, but for how long would luck continue to smile upon the Andvaranaut?

It was Kanshou that struck first. Bakuya, second. Both of the gently-curving blades met their mark and went in deep, slicing through flesh and bone. Then they with withdrawn, their wielder backpedaling a few steps to avoid the draconic corpse that the slain beast left behind.

Emiya 'Archer' Ayaka lowered her hands and allowed both the blades to shatter. She gazed at the huge, reptilian corpse impassively. The dragon-like creature had attacked her on her way back from a routine mission, simply a checkup on a problem area. It was a rather foolish decision on it's part. she decided, turning away from the body. Doubtlessly, it had thought her easy prey. It was rather clear that it had not expected her to produce Kanshou and Bakuya, and drive them through its head. What a waste. Archer turned away from the corpse. Things had been stormy lately, the Riders... whatever. They would be dealt with. She continued onward. Of course, she was required to get back to base as soon as possible. The problem area... wasn't such a problem anymore. The common person seemed happy, there was no further theft of dimensional travel technology...

Of course, Archer's cynicism prevented her from thinking this would last. And of course, she guessed that she would be returning to put a stop to further thefts at some point... but at the moment that was not the case.

She took one last glance at the massive reptilian corpse.

"Stupid beast," she commented, before continuing on her way.

Naruko

"Heave ho, heave ho!" A loud voice barked out in a pattern as the sound of a dozen or so pairs of feet stamped the ground. Behind the smaller girl, a small squadron of identically clad girls were marching to a beat that was being chanted by the leader, who was situated atop the thing's head. All of the girls had blonde hair done into two long pigtails, as well as a Halloween colored jumpsuit that seemed like a uniform of sorts.

Naruko was doing her job, procuring some free provisions for the citadel. Seeing as Archer, for all her skills, wasn't liable to do the mundane task of provision procurement on such a large scale, the brightly colored ninja took it upon herself to do so. Still even with a dozen or so clones of herself, there was more than enough power to transport the lizard carcass than if the same amount of more regular humans did it. Naruko was strong, stronger than her looks gave her credit for.

"All this meat is gonna last for a while. Now I can go eat ramen again!" The girl told herself eagerly, having to control her own mouth from overflowing with saliva at the thought of eating those delicious noodles once more.

Valvatorez

"Mr. Vampire... I apologize..." A literal angel with pink hair called out in the nearly empty room, her sad eyes looking at a dark figure opposite of her.

"Apologize? For what?" The vampire asked incredulously, his pale face a bit shocked at the sudden proclamation.

"Yes to keep your promise you made to me, you continued to forbid yourself from drinking human blood. As a result, you lost your powers and fell to Hades... I don't know how to express how sorry I am..." Artina cast her disheartened expression downwards, her eyes only just able to look at the vampire's. "On top of that, I kept worrying about Judge Nemo even with yourself in this state... As Mr. Werewolf said, I'm just a hypocrite."

"Think whatever you want, but doing something is better than doing nothing." Valvatorez rebuked, his eyes deadly serious. "Plus, by falling to Hades, I discovered sardines, a great source of nutrition. Actually, I should be thanking you for that."

"Oh, Mr. Vampire, I'm trying to be serious right now..." Reproof crept into the angel's expression as she said this, her self disappointment abating.

"I'm being serious too." The vampire said again with a completely straight face.

"Hmhmmm... You really are Mr. Weirdo..." Finally, a smile came upon her face, brightening it considerably. "I'm glad we got to meet again..."

"Likewise, now I finally get to keep the promise I made back then..." This was said with a sort of knowing quality.

"Yes... I ended up making you wait 400 years..."

"Right. As I promised, I shall only quench my thirst after taking you down to the depths of despair. Hmhmm. Now. How shall I go abou this? This will be most interesting." Eagerness crept into the Prinny Instructor's voice at the prospect of tasting blood once more.

"No. There's no need to do that to me."

"...? What do you mean by that?" Confusion was evident now as the angel's words sank in.

"I've already seen the depths of despair... When you were dragged into Fear the Great... Your death... I was trembling, just thinking about it... All I could do was stand there, trying not to scream out loud..."

"Artina..."

"You have kept your promise... Now, go ahead... take my blood. And please regain your power, Tyrant Valvatorez... My Mr. Vampire..." With that, Artina smiled and gave herself up, awaiting for that important moment. Nodding, the vampire took a series of steady steps towards the offering. Gloved hands reached out and held the softer person in its velvet embrace. Lowering his face towards the crook of the angel's neck, he was able to note that faint scent of her perfume.

Excitement ran through him at the proximity to such a willing target... Once more, he can partake of ambrosia... Instincts taking over, he brushed his finger over the target area of skin, causing his meal to shiver at the unexpected touch. "Hurry up..." Artina murmured. This of course made the starved being nervous... He never felt such a thing in feedings past... Still, the fangs within his mouth revealed themselves once more. Almost reverentially, he moved his mouth closer until the tips touched bare skin... "Ah!" An exclamation rang out in higher pitch this time as Artina felt the sensation, her eyes snapping open and trying to glance at the hungry lord. Still, the vampire did not puncture through, his fangs only grazing her skin at the moment. Decorum was in order, and the feast shall not commence until it was suitable for the both of them.

Unlike some of his fellow passengers, an older man clothed in a rather haphazard fashion sat next to a wall, quietly observing those around him. Ezio had been a rather recent addition to the multiverse, having been dumped in Celestial Quay a few days before. Slowly, he turned over his hand to look at his left wrist. Yes, the stub of his hidden blade was still there, jutting out slightly of its' receptacle. It was foolish to suggest that it would have miraculously fixed itself, but after fighting with two hidden blades for so long it was strange to see one of them broken.

Returning his gaze to the others, he thought about what he was doing here. He had taken passage aboard the Andvaranaut - a curious vessel, at least for one such as him who was displaced both in time and space - in order to get a closer look at this... what were they called again? Ah, yes, the Citadel of Eternova. The people he had spoken to had been rather divided on their opinion of the Citadel, and it piqued Ezio's interest. Were they like the Templars, those people who wished to dominate the world using the Pieces of Eden? Or were they merely harsh protectors of the multiverse, like the Assassins were in their home universe*

?

There was only one way to find out, and he was currently doing it. But he was getting ahead of himself - they still hadn't gotten to their destination, after all. So he watched and waited, trying to settle his swirling thoughts.

With a sigh, the Lady put her small palm-computer back into its pocket. That was another mission accomplished, another step toward a peaceful multiverse... With a thousand thousand more to follow. Still, this particular mission was an interesting one, for it brought her to a strange world where ancient magic reigned and the gods still walked the earth from time to time. When one person there developed a spell that could be used to break the walls between the universes, to allow travel between them, she was dispatched to assassinate this person and confiscate their notes. It wasn't too hard, but not too easy, either, and she enjoyed the challenge... It was good to have a purpose in life again.

Looking around her, she scanned the masses of passengers that were in that particular room of the Andvaranaut at that moment. Most of them were uninteresting, just people of all kinds going to the Citadel for all sorts of reasons. But one man caught her eye. His apparel was odd, and he seemed to be observing his fellow passengers, just like she did.

She got up, adjusted her swords' sheaths so that they rested more comfortably upon her back, and walked toward the man, sitting down a few metres away from him and staring at him.

What the passengers of the Andvaranaut did not realise was that a menacing ship was hidden in the darkness, stalking it. On the bridge, stood a giant lizard, with red hair, spikes on his green shell and a massive grin on his face. The lizard looked at the Andvaranaut through a screen, and soon turned to a small army of Koopa Troopas and Goombas, all of them wearing armor:

"Bwahaha! Those fools have no idea what's in store for them! For I, Bowser, the King of the Koopas, created a magnificient plan! My army of minions will invade the Andvaranaut and spread havoc throughout it! Then we, the Doomsday Riders, will enter the ship and destroy any resistance, completely taking over the ship!"

Bowser laughed again and raised his fist in the air, as his army began to cheer. He then turned to the members of his group, the Doomsday Riders, and gave them a thumbs-up:

"A perfect plan! I mean, of course it's perfect, it was made by me!"

Hope that's OK.

Seated within the throne room of Castle Pandaemonium, the capital citadel of Hell itself which had recently been relocated to the world of Al Hazard, a figure clad in resplendent golden armour watched the turtle king's plan unfold via magical means. Whilst he refused outright to take part in the plan personally ("I am an Emperor, not some petty bandit", he had told Bowser when the plan was proposed), he was still at least intrigued by how it would unfold, and had allowed a small detachment of his infernal legion to accompany the King of Koopas on his raid.

Slouching back on a crystal throne, he let out an amused chuckle as he heard Bowser's overconfident boasting. At the very least, the lizard was a useful pawn for the time being, just like the others. Or maybe pawn was the wrong word; he was more like a rook, or a bishop; a stronger, more valuable playing piece, but still just a playing piece. Either way, the gilded figure considered him, like all his fellow Doomsday Riders, to be nothing more than a convenient ally to be casually discarded as soon as he stopped being useful.

All were mere stepping stones on his path to greatness, after all. For he was Emperor Mateus Palamecia, he who had conquered life, death and even the divine; the Lord Master of Hell itself. All was rightfully his to command. Nothing could deny him his destiny; he had clawed his way from the grip of absolute oblivion by sheer force of will alone to make sure of it.

"And so the game begins," he said to himself in a low, slightly amused tone. "Let us see if this self-proclaimed king lives up to his boasts."

I'll put off Hotaru's intro for the time being; just wanted to try and set the tone of how the Emperor will be played for the time being.

Taking over a ship making a routine journey... it was a meaningless task. Nothing, nothing at all, would be gained from it. There might be some usable resources but otherwise... the Book of Darkness had no difference in the oversized lizard's plotting, sending Zafira along only to ensure that things didn't get out of hand and reveal their base of operations before she had time to fully map the planet's defences and systems, a task for which Bowser was most unhelpful. Realistically, she only really regarded Conquest as much of an asset; the others were better regarded as cannon fodder to direct towards her end goal.

When she had a clue where to start looking.

Signum, the Divine Wings, the General of Blazing Flame, was 'conveniently' in place upon Andvaranaut. No-one had questioned her being there: she needed a means of travel just as much as anyone else and it was explicitly not common knowledge that the ship was unnecessary to her. This way, she could continue to build her reputation and gain more and more trust before pillaging her false masters for everything they had and maybe, just maybe, finally breaking the endless cycle of manipulative, cruel masters and painful disintegration.

Blissfully unaware of the danger that the Andvaranaut was in, Ezio noticed the approach of the woman. There was an indescribable quality to it, one that he knew very well. What was she? A spy? An assassin? It wouldn't be the first time that someone had tried to beat him at his own game, and he doubted it would be the last. Still... he had to admit that he knew so little of this place - it was like he had been taken from a small pond into an ocean - that he figured that he could afford to take a risk.

Turning his head slowly and deliberately to face her, his hood keeping most of his features suitably hidden, he nodded. A simple gesture, but one that would speak volumes. Or so he hoped, at least. The customs seemed to vary wildly from place to place, and there was no telling if he had accidentally insulted her or worse.

His decades of experience would need to make up for any deficiency in luck.

Bowser laughed as his army began to chant his name. He soon raised his finger, pointing towards the sky:

"Operation "Conquest of the Andvaranaut" will begin soon! All of you, get to position! I want to see half of the Koopa Squad on the attack, and the other half on the defense! Paratroopas, you go to attack too. Goombas, you are all supposed to attack once they are distracted by the Koopas. Don't forget to use the armor that was crafted just for you! Are we ready?!"

The army cheered again and soon ran to their positions. Bowser turned around, observing the Andvaranaut again. He smiled, talking to himself:

"Soon, I'll have enough power to destroy Mario and his friends... then I'll take over the Mushroom Kingdom... And all the other kingdoms! Bwahaha!"

Archer glanced back at squad of orange-clad girls hauling the giant dragon away. It was typical of the 'Sealed Wings' to go about such tasks with so much energy. As with many things about Naruko, it irritated the small girl. Naruko was overly-energetic, and(at least seemingly) not especially bright at most times. These were the kinds of things that annoyed Archer. As such, even though Naruko was fairly competent in a fight, Archer had written her off as an annoyance at most times. She was caustic towards even those who didn't annoy her with their presence alone. Towards people like Naruko...

"So, I see you have to make a racket wherever you go?" Archer asked, facing away from the squad of girls as she walked onward. She didn't particularly care to look at them, even when talking to them.

"I-I'm not making a racket!" Naruko huffily exclaimed as she heard the caustic words, glancing back at Archer's direction. Even worse, the elitist little girl wasn't even bothering to look her way! People like those tended to chafe Naruko the wrong way too, what with their own prideful superiority and whatnot. Just as Archer displayed an inherent dislike for the jumpsuit girl, so did Naruko return the favor.

"And another thing, look at people who you're looking down at! Even if I'm situated higher than y-" As the girl's hotblooded ramblings went on, Naruko didn't see the stout branch in time until it was too late.

With a solid thwack, the original's forehead was repelled by the strong tree limb and head knocked back. "Owie..." She said, wincing and rubbing her noggin.

"Mr. Vampire? Why are you hesitating?" Artina called out a little impatiently, her voice huskier than normal. Without a word, the vampire simply retracted his mouth from her supple skin and pointed towards the door situated nearby, which was open just a crack. One could see many pairs of eyes peering at the duo from outwards, which were followed by a kerfuffle of energetic scrabbling about as the peepers ran away.

"...I lost my appetite for now." The vampire said, gloved palm covering his embarrassed face.

Saya

Bowser's boasts, the upcoming battle, it was all nothing to her. She had no part in it, she had her own objective that others would consider petty in contrast with her group's own. They wanted conquest, to rule, she, however, wanted something much simpler. Saya stood there with one hand clasped around her arm, her eyes dull with wonder. What was going to happen today? Would Bowser and his army actually take down the enemy? Not that it mattered to her, anyway, the only thing she'd get out of it was food. Well, devouring an alien species could be interesting, but, again, that's not her primary objective. Although, deep down, the temptation to actually participate in the fight was there, it just wasn't ''her'.

"Hmmm..." she looked at the ground, pulling her eyes off of Bowser. Quite funny, considering others' response to her own true form. Others run, others brown their pants at the sheer sight of the many, many tentacles that is Saya's true form. Again, that results in absolute loneliness. The thing she's devoid of is the one thing that's most precious.

Maybe, if I look...", Saya thought to herself as she moved forward, looking down the side of the ship. No on here likes me... but maybe...'', she threw the thought away. Flying down into the middle of a battle zone? Stupid, very stupid. She shook her head and brought up a hand to her forehead.

Elizabeth, or 'Mother' as she called herself, ignored the lizard, despite coming along with him. After her children were torn asunder by Zeus, she had felt lonely, incomplete... the unknowing people on the Andvaranaut would help fix that. Behind Bowser's army shambled what could only be described as zombies - twisted men, ill, swollen and bloody. Some were bulbous, appearing to be stronger than average, but the strongest creatures currently visible were no longer human. Large, dog-like creatures, almost as big as the koopa king was, with pale grey skin. These were the Hunters, Elizabeth's predominant creations. The Infected were not as organized as Bowser's forces, but they had instinct, and strength.

Infect. Capture. Was the simple command, heard mentally by the monstrous creatures. They prepared themselves, begrudgingly getting into position along with Bowser's minions.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?

"Troops!"

All the troops on Bowser's army got into the position and faced their King. A group of koopas approached Bowser with a set of fire-red armor. Bowser quickly put on the chestplate and the helmet, since the other parts probably wouldn't fit.

"Charge the cannons!"

He quickly turned to a nearby Koopa:

"We have cannons, right?"

The Koopa nodded. Bowser laughed:

"Get ready for invasion!... How are we gonna invade again?"

The Koopa moved his hands as if simulating a bridge being placed on the gap between the two ships.

"Are you sure that's gonna work?"

The Koopa nodded again.

"Ready the bridge! Charge the cannons! Approach the Andvaranaut, and on my command, turn off our cloaking- we have a cloaking device, right?... Oh, good- device and INVADE!"

The army cheered and chanted Bowser's name, as the ship began to move towards the Andvaranaut.

Took a few liberties, hope I'm not wrong.

Dlanor A. Knox

The great equalizer, Death Sentence Dlanor, Dlanor of the Ten Wedges, currently sat at a desk back on base doing what can be aptly described as paperwork. The inquisitor was never one to be sent on routine missions. No one ever thought to invite her. So, during these times, she got stuck with handling any paperwork that needed to be done, be it balancing the budget, or signing for that new shipment of supplies. It was a bothersome task, but one Dlanor did without complaint. She was used to this sort of thing. After all, back when she was strictly an inquisitor, she had only been sent out when the prosecuted was sure to be guilty.

Pratty

A white haired girl, wearing a quite odd helmet that allowed tufts of her hair to poke out, walked down the hallway. She was currently going over their supply stores with her fairy summon. Despite her weird preferences, the fairy was always the easiest of her summons to talk to. So far they accounted iron ore, material ore, matchboxes, canteens, fans... now what else?

"Are we all stocked up on Mystic Ore?" Pratty asked the fairy girl floating obediently behind her.

Sugar nodded, "Yes Master Pratty, we have over 100 in store."

"Great! We can get right on to mak-" The Craftknight paused. She noticed that Master Val's door had quite the crowd of spectators. Ever the curious girl, Pratty went over to inspect what was going on, only to flush at the scene before her. Waitwaitwait, she shouldn't be watching this. She should go...

"Oh how romantic!" Sugar exclaimed, taking the now escaping girl by surprise, "Master Pratty, we can't lose to them!"

"L-lose?! Wha- agh!" Pratty, by some ill fate of luck, tripped and fell through the door. She landed face first on the ground. "Ow... I dink I bode my dose...."

"Master Pratty! Are you okay?!"

"ATTACK!"

Soon, all of the cannons in the ship began firing directly at the Andvaranut. The Koopa's Pride, as the ship was called, approached the Andvaranaut with amazing speed, and it was clear that they were going to invade the ship in a few minutes.

It is likely that we will be boarded very soon. If you can fight, prepare yourself, for we will need every skilled fighter that there is on this craft. If not... prepare yourself for death... As Bowser watched the cannons firing towards the Andvaranaut, a Goomba approached him with a microphone on his mouth. Gently grabbing it from the Goomba's mouth, and began speaking to it, his voice being boomed throughout the space outside the ship, so that the passengers of the Andvaranaut could hear him:

"Attention, all of you! This is Bowser, King of the Koopas! Your ship is now under attack by the Doomsday Riders! Cease all resistance and submit to our demands, or face immediate destruction!"

He then turned to the Goomba, lowering the microphone:
