Daigo contemplated this. The Principal was not as bad as Daigo had thought he was, and that was both good for Leonard, and bad for his own later plans. As for Qord...the robotic Thing that crushed his son...he gulped. Qord was becoming surprisingly sympathetic in terms of history.
He was still a depraved madman, but there was humanity under there. Which almost made him all the more frightening.
"...How does he think killing people here is gonna help to bring them back? He must have targeted them for more than shock factor or for something they possessed. Its probably something integral to them that he needs."
Elisare nodded. "Hopefully, he'll explain his plans to his minions, given how much we could be missing, especially involving the robot creatures. I don't understand why theys would destroy themselves if they had free will, so I'm a bit worried about them or their creator possibly still being around. And if they are, Qord's the only one we know who knows anything about what exactly they are."
Daigo thought on this before saying further, "So, Qord was running from robotic invaders...well, I do remember doing some reading on the Adherents of the Line of Vonh, and apparently, some of them say that the Line was forced to our world by invaders called the Viseilians, described as "of blood-red steel skin, a hungry scourge of worlds". As usual, lack of evidence even among their religion means they're even less well regarded for this."
He asked half-seriously, "You think Qord could be older than we thought?"
"Actually, I don't think Qord is of the Line. If he was, he would've been recognized by now. I would say its most likely that when they escaped that planet, that others escaped with them. Qord...is in all likelihood, one of those "others". In fact, in the Adherents' stories, there's mention of an "Arch-Mage" assisting Vonh at many points. Could Qord be..."
So, putting everything together, it appeared Qord was far more than sixty five million years old.
Galactia was expecting more.
She was expecting the act to drop. She was expecting him to attack.
Mobius, to her, was the type who was always planning, always scheming.
This whole plan seemed so brilliant.
Upon is own defeat and death, abuse his ability to reincarnate and be reborn in the world.
Then wait out those who could stop him, and let time and the world dispose of his enemies while he creates a new generation of followers. Once his threats are gone, he can bring hell on earth all over again.
And by fate and chance she stumbled upon this, and had to stop it before it was too late...
Then why is he not counter attacking?
Galactia scratched her head.
Mobius, to her, was the type who was always planning, always scheming.
Part of her didn't feel right. It felt a ounce of guilt.
But she shrugged it off. That was Mobius's game, she thought. He was a destroyer of lives and a manipulator of men. This was his bread and butter.
Play up the sympathy card, make her feel bad, make her regret what she's doing, and the moment the guard is dropped take her down with a set-up trap spell, just like last time. And unlike last time, Mobius will finish the job...
Fantasia steeled her mind.
"No mercy."
"No mercy, no mistakes."
Galactia charged up her baton once again. The magical tool sparked with electricity, and Galactia aimed it at Leonard and unleashed a stream of lighting upon Leonard.
Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.Leonard tried to keep his Spell Circle shields strong, but even he had his limits. As the spell hit, his circles managed to repulse it again, but each looked cracked now.
He panted in exhaustion, deflecting every attack and keeping all these circles up was taking a quick toll on him.
He did not want to die, but he could not bring himself to attack her, not when she was operating on the wrong idea about him. Didn't she know he was amnesiac? He knew next to none of Mobius' death curses, or really much of anything about him. Except how utterly horrible he seemed.
Gem of Might...what can I do?
You must counterattack, Young Master. Her assumptions are false, she has been mislead. I could try to drudge up the remaining 1% of Mobius' memories, to see what remains.
No...no...I'll...I'll find something I can do...there has to be a spell type I have that isn't related to horribly injuring people...
The Principal nodded, and said, "Very well, now, do you require someone to guide you to the room, or do you have the route memorized?"
Arketor seemed to look at something else, and sighed, "It does seem I might need to go do something else. If you cannot be a compelling foe, I'll simply end this sooner rather than later."
It seemed the black energy had splashed all around down there, churning as if a pool of black water.
The collection of voices, Taurin joined by his summons, once again called upon a spell.
"Enhance holy-Suspend"
From higher in the sky, several beams of light seemed to descend. The light spread out and surrounded the black liquid and Arketor. It was meant to be a holding spell, but Taurin was mostly using it as area-of-effect holy magic.
Arketor still looked up there at Taurin and did not seem very concerned about this.
"Two of you, and you can only come up with this?"
The Principal looked over at her, "Good...she is awake. Now we can begin to take action against Oudo."
He did not like thinking of how hard it was going to be to not only find Oudo, but also bind him and take care of him in the same way as last time.
"Yeah, we do need a counter measure to make sure that Qord cannot use his allies to possess other people while they're in Sphere-Space..."
For now, the only thing he could think of was making sure that they only used Sphere-Space within sight of the Guard or the Velke, but given how fluid some of their loyalties had turned out to be...
"Well...Demons know about science, correct? This is based upon a non-magical combat tactic involving water and a stun gun."
At that, another burst of magic was let off. This one purely offensive, and made to travel through other magic. It had potential to hurt the demon, but it was actually intended for two purposes. One was as a distraction. The other was to create a connection. It was insulated, like a one way door, rather than the open connection Rayko had tried earlier, but it wasn't quite ready. Taurin strengthened the connection as he took information magically.
Arketor just had Reitt float there as the spell hit them, and began feeding information to Taurin.
Taurin would see through the demon's perspective as he stalked through a ruined city, grinning slightly as he found the Reylus Family, minus Taurin and some of the others. It was indeed the ones separated from Taurin, Gemina and Virginia.
It became obvious quickly that Arketor was choosing to send this information first to him. The demon was then seen to walk into view, having possessed an old, poor man holding a cane to keep him up. As soon as he got into view though, the old man hacked and a massive quantity of black blood surged up from the old man's mouth, forcing itself down Taurin's mother's throat.
The children watched in horror as their mother slowly swiveled around to look at them, a terrifying Psychotic Smirk on her face, her eyes still her own, she was crying and audibly inwardly begging Arketor to spare her children. His only response was laughter. He then retrieved a hatchet from the old man's ragged clothes, and forced the youngest of the children down, and even as he begged his mother not to do it, soon enough screaming in pain as Arketor brought the hatchet crashing down with enough force to break the mother's arm. It was clear that he had no regard for his body's pain.
The others began to run, but one was caught by his mother's shadow reaching up, and dragged back.
And with that, he did not so much as shut Taurin's mental door as he melted it down, searing pain rushing through Taurin's head, and then reported in a merry tone, "Did you expect different when you tried to mentally fight a demon who specializes in possession?"
"You provided exactly what I expected. I was searching for data."
A massive flash of light would appear throughout the entire area, even though Taurin and his summon were still nowhere to be seen. When it cleared, an uncanny feeling radiated through the whole area. When Taurin next spoke, it seemed to be coming not from nowhere, but from everywhere.
"Your little memory gave me it. And mixing it in with a little something I've been working on, and..."
A large pile of the ground then rose up, forming itself into the shape of a vague humanoid. One who was familiar with such things would note that it resembled Pollux. The large structure spoke with a gravelly voice.
"Possessing people. So old fashioned. Why take a little bit of flesh when I can carve out beings of my own creation?"
Ground-Pollux raised its arms, causing a large disturbance in the ground where Arketor stood.
"Why? Because humans are unique, you imagination-lacking boy. Even as you carve creations on your own, they manifest with all of your lackings, your failings. Your arrogance is...astounding, really. Now, for an object lesson on why I prefer humans to banal constructs."
He suddenly rushed forward and simply swept one of his large arms through the energy that was supposed to be confining him, dispersing it almost instantly, before grabbing the Pollux structure by the head, and simply yanked the entire head off.
Reitt's shadow then extended again and ripped the Pollux structure to pieces.

Galactia did not hesitate.
"got-ya" she muttered under he breath as the next spell, one she already casted, made itself known.
Right below Leonard, he noticed a small orb of fire. It only took a second for the young magi to realize what it was.
A firebomb exploded under Leonard, consuming him in the explosion.
Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.

"The principal wants his wife back. She died when the magic came back. As for Qord, his son was killed by a robotic... Thing. He had portal powers, and used them to save Qord, but he got crushed. Qord planned on 'finding' his son, and I think that ties in to his eventual plans. His sister and wife were also dead."
She seemed visibly uncomfortable at the memory. "He's a murderer. He's sick, depraved, and has already killed over a half dozen children here for no apparent reason... But his motives are so human. He actually cared about his lost family, and he seems out to bring at least one of them back... It's hard to comprehend, really."
