The way I see it is if it has a story, it's like buying a book to avoid being spoiled on the internet. If it has multiplayer progression it's so that players can learn the ins and outs of strategy and show off their high rank as quickly as possible.
Usually the games I order on launch are Nintendo games.
ASAB: All Sponsors Are Bad.Speaking of AAA games, I wonder if Jim ever did a video lambasting the obsession a good deal of the videogame community has on graphic fidelity because that's one of the reason why AAA games cost so much to make.
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, we should find the absolutes that tie us.![]()
And then GTA Definitive Edition happened and they focused more on making everyone shiny like they were coated in grease ( among other things) and we ended up with a product ath both looked AND played terrible.
Sadly, knowing game companies' mandated law to ignore history and learn nothing, we're gonna ge tmore instances of games being shit because they focused more on Shooty Mc Generic's individual bumhairs and the mythical raytracing than they do, you know, making a proper product.
Are explosions science?I actually remember something that the CEO or whatever of Play Station, Jim Ryan, said in regards to retro games.
Basically he was at a Gran Turismo event and saw the PS 1 and PS 2 games and was like “these graphics don’t look good. I don’t get why people like this.” Paraphrasing there but that’s basically what he said.
The reason people still like those old games is because people find them fun. Graphics don’t matter a whole lot.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I personally think older graphics can also have their own charm. There's a reason why Retraux art styles are a thing.

Not a great look after trying to play moral highground with Activision last week.

I haven't bought a full price game in like 3 years. Between not being able to get a PS 5, and never buying AAA titles until the Got Y edition comes out, there's been nothing there.
