Oh it wont. There's no outcome where Bobby doesn't walk away a winner. Either he keeps the job, or is kicked out and makes out with a 250 to 275 millions severance package. Literally, if he's fired with cause, he's gets a 250 million severance payment.
Consequences are for poor people.

Sadly, the issues are too rooted in society that they will keep being a problem unless change comes.
Anyone that isn’t a cis, straight, white, male is going to face a systemic problem. Which objectively speaking needs to change. But, I don’t know what will bring about the change.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!
Yeah, the "consequences" or lack thereof for Kotick aside, I'll just rephrase what I said earlier in the topic:
Should Bobby Kotick be removed (Whether through firing/resignation/whatever) as the head of Activision Blizzard? Yes he should, absolutely.
Should we pretend that removing Bobby Kotick will, on its own, magically fix all of Activision Blizzard's problems? No, we should not.
(And I'll reiterate that, despite recent Kotaku headlines implying otherwise [To be fair, the articles themselves do say "Activision Blizzard", but the headlines usually just say "Activision"], the problems with Activision Blizzard are with Activision Blizzard, as in the whole company—Activision didn't magically step in to ruin the formerly good-and-pure Blizzard side, and taking Activision out of the equation won't fix Blizzard either)
Really I am consigned with being satisfied with just Bobby getting removed from the company, anything else would be nice, but that's likely the only thing that's gonna happen realistically, and even THAT is in question still. That being said a new CEO might attempt to clear house to try to make them and the company look good, so who knows.
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness.Well they finally did it. After a year of release, Square has finally released their Playstation exclusive Spider-Man character for Marvel's Avengers.
And unlike Kate Bishop, Clint Barton, and Black Panther, he is not being released with any story campaign most likely stemming from the fact that he is only playable on one console type.
So smart move there Square, ya made Spider-Man underwhelming as fuck. Hope it was worth it.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Sterling reminds people at the end that a big part of the problem, the reason the Koticks in the game industry get away with their bullshit, is that too many gamers and the gaming press don't want to think about it. They just want to look at the next new game.
It is rather telling that this story about Kotick was originally from the Wall Street Journal, ie, an actual news publication.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI think part of the reason is because some gamers don't want to accept the possibility of new games being cancelled and cut short if it means cleaning house, because then that would mean you could get a general house sweep across a lot of different studios in the US alone that would lead to a dead year -or years- in releases.
I'm not exaggerating on that last part, while Acti-Bliz is the one that has caught the most flack, EA is just right behind when it comes to predatory behaviour and likely has a few skeletons of its own. Then you also have the news about Naughty Dog's infernal working conditions to produce The Last of Us II -which I can't believe didn't get more coverage in the controversy- and it's pretty clear that you need a hard pause in most of the big companies until all of this is cleaned up.
And that's not even getting into the needed change in game developing culture that, one way or another, will lead to longer developing time to avoid falling into crunch time overuse, which will also lead to less yearly game releases.
Mind you, I'm not against this because I believe that the gaming community in general needs an intervention to stop enabling this abusive system and accept a more humane one.
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, we should find the absolutes that tie us.At the very least, gamers shouldn't try to shout down anyone who tries to bring attention to these issues. This is something else Sterling has pointed out in this vid.
Don't try to deny the problems in the industry that produces the stuff you like.

Disgusted, but not surprised![]()
Some people treat the slightest delays like their family was murdered in front of them. I'm in the Total War Discord channel and I've seen some incredibly exaggerated reactions to Total Warhammer 3 being delayed two months. It's extremely disheartening to see how little a lot of gamers care about the people making their entertainment.

You know, I personally wouldn’t mind it if games took longer to make with absolutely zero crunch time.
Personally I think everyone could just go and play older retro games while the industry gets a whole reset on its culture and I wish people would defend terrible people anymore.
We are in a dark time in general.
And to the people who don’t want Sterling to talk about the abuses going on: Screw off.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I always imagine the gaming community as a sea of piranhas that are angry and hungry, unlike what their real life counterparts should normally be. Always demanding for the highest graphical fidelity and performance, and shunning away original ideas. I'm a detractor of this mindset and usually support The Jimquisition's adversity to the industry, but as a Nintendo person even that has an ulterior motive and it's disheartening when Nintendo doesn't do much better.
