Rex skid across the ground before coming to a halt, then sprung forward again, keeping on all fours as he charged the knight. He threw himself to the ground, sliding before slashing at the man's ankles, crippling him. He pushed off the ground with all four limbs and leaped over the knight, kicking him in the head and cracking his skull as he did so, before charging through the enemy ranks once more, claws swinging.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?Duncan's counter worked, luckily. Of course, the plants weren't much of a threat once he was no longer distracted.
Dagarent's spell did indeed dissipate the darkness, causing him to be totally freed. He would probably take note that only one spellcaster was wearing dark magic styled robes, and they were trying to cast another spell already.
Another spellcaster was chanting something about fire, and their hand had caught fire. They were about to throw it at the forest when... they began to bleed from their torso, and their spell faltered and vanished. The knife in their shadow had gotten a perfect hit, having gone ignored due to having seemingly missed.
Rex's attacks succeeded, and as he dashed about he may take notice there weren't many soldiers left. Of the people left, there were mages and the drivers for the carts (Clearly non-combatant), all running into the farmland in hopes of escape. They were simply outmatched and taken by complete surprise, all melee fighters having been taken down it seemed. One mage seemed to be doing something to the plants as he passed by, causing him to be the last in the group.
Token Loli!Dagarent breathed deeply as the choking spell dissipated, when he saw a black mage trying to use another of their dark incantations. He assumed position with his staff again, and was about to try countering the magic, when a thought occurred. He grabbed the corpse of a nearby guard, then flung it at the dark magician.
The battle was in their favor now, Baleust thought. There was some counterattacks, archers firing back, and mages casting their spells. It seemed the arrows were towards the ones at the trees, thankfully. He crawled forward as he made the occasional shot now. He had only a couple bolts, and attempted to make them count. They were effective at least. Even if the bolts made just a tiny scratch, the poison would've caused great irritation to the wound, not mentioning how it would've affected them if it made a clean hit. Still, he was slowly readying himself for melee.
Treia had avoided drawing enemy fire. Now she could recover and go on the offensive. They'd need a hostage and informant, of course... She spotted one of the mages breaking for it and ran after him. A thought, a gesture, and chains of solid light materialized and flew after the hapless mage, threatening to entomb him in their embrace.
Rex noted that one mage was messing with plants, and decided that whatever he was doing probably wasn't good for his side. He charged, tackling the man and slashing at his throat with his claws.
"No you don't!" He shouted as he did so.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?Ignatius remained on the ground the duration of the fight, the tactic of lying on the floor and remaining neutral working oddly well. The combatants had reasonable aim, his position tactically advantageous, and one side had the advantage to an extent that was shortening the fight, causing many of their enemies to flee and the ones who remained to fight were being mowed down.
While he remained on the floor, keeping his tactic even the fight was becoming one-sided, he looked up and observed more of the battle. Arrows and spells zoomed through the air, swords clashed and troops ran and fell as the carts smashed and burned. To most it would be intimidating but, both internally and externally, he remained emotionless.
He rolled out of the way of a stray arrow and hit a corpse. He contemplated reanimating it to guard him, but decided that it would appear hostile to do so, and the undead were weak regardless. He pushed the corpse out of the way and remained on the floor, attempting to observe the battle and waiting to attempt to side with the winners, which by this point was looking to be the ambushers, once the battle was over.
Once the archers had been dispatched of Tarlin reholstered her bow, then untied the small axe lashed to her belt. It didn't look particularly impressive, but its blade was sharp enough to behead a man with a strong enough swing.
Keeping low she darted towards the wagons, her eyes on the escaping mages and drivers. Couldn't have eye-witnesses after all. Smiling, she caught up with one of the lagging mages and aimed a blow straight for his neck.
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobThe black mage had been more prepared for a blow from that large stick. He was so surprised to be hit with the body of one of his fallen comrades that his spell completely failed in it's attempt.
As the chains of light caught the mage, he cursed aloud and attempted to break free. Fire surrounded him a little bit but failed to accomplish anything but look a tad pathetic.
The green mage was startled to suddenly have a large wolf attack him, and not much he could do as he had just put so much mana into the plants. It took a moment, but they finally seemed to be coming alive. Vines with thorns reached out to attempt to grab Rex and anyone else who was in the immediate area, off the road but on the farm.
Tarlin's attack hit right on the mark, taking out the mage. One nearby turned and waved his hand, throwing a fireball at Tarlin.
Beyond those mentioned, there were only the two drivers and one more mage all still trying to escape.
Jessica sighed. She wasn't bothered by the dead bodies at all, despite not liking killing anyone herself. She ran over to the black mage, who was most definitely in a lot of pain from the dead body that was tossed into him. This was the only one alive who was still around here. She pulled out some rope and bound his wrists together, and then his ankles. She then turned to the burning carts. There was no longer any need for them to stay on fire, "Oops, alright..." She began, literally and with her hands, pulling the fire off and dropping it into the dirt of the road, where it would quickly burn itself out and vanish without any fuel. It was revealed that within these was very shiny and precious ore.
"Phew, alright..." She looked around at who was left. Were any allies hurt? The giant was a healer, and there was at least one other if she remembered correctly, but her tears were very efficient...
Token Loli!Rex ignored the vines as first, charging the mage. The vines halted him for a brief moment, but he swiftly cut them with his claws and continued his charge. He clenched his hand into a fist, before jumping and decking the mage in the face as hard as he could.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?"Good work, Cadous," Mary replied, pushing her telescope in and sticking it into her pocket, "Remember, stay on deck once we board the ship. You're one of our few healers and we'll need you out of danger yet nearby to heal any of our injured."
"Oh sister, don't be so serious, he's done his job like a good boy. Maybe you should give him a treat~" The older sister teased, only to get yet another glare from the red head. "Tsk, such a spoil sport."
Meanwhile, off in the distance, a speck could be spotted by any doing a proper look out. As they got closer the speck seemed to get bigger, more defined. It was definitely a ship. Specifically, it was the ship they were looking for.
"Nothing major" said Dagarent. "Just a few nicks-" he motioned towards a few arrows that had hit him in places along the sides of his upper torso, and a few more along the legs "-but I'll take care of those when we're not busy." He scooped up a clump of dirt in his hand, near where the tiny red-headed girl was, and tried to help her put out the fire by dropping it on one of the carts. He did it absentmindedly, though, as he looked around to see if anyone was critically injured.
Looking around from his low viewpoint, moving around a bit to change direction of sight, the battle appeared to be dying down, a few mages running or being finished off, a few drivers were trying to escape, not being suitable for combat. A prisoner had been taken and the carts finally put out and he appeared to have gone unnoticed through the battle.
It was unsurprising that in the heat of battle a noncombatant lying on the floor trying not to get hit had not been seen but now the battle was almost over he was going to have to apply his tactic.
In the embers of battle they would presumably search for survivors and even covered in blood, dirt and ash as he would still be found if one was looking for life. He lowered his head to the ground again protectivly and waited to see if he would be discovered, as his plan required.
Having no time to dodge Tarlin raised her axe up, the fireball crashing into the metal. She hissed as the dispersing flame licked at her hand, a sound that deepened as thorned vines crawled up her legs. She swung the weapon again, hacking at the vines around her before leaping out of the mess and swinging again towards the mage's chest.
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobSari kept watch. Her task was not to directly join the fight, but instead to keep an eye out for reinforcements. There was a risk that they would arrive, after all. She also occasionally glanced back at Squishy to make sure she was still okay.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Duncan walked over to them and said, "I'm fine over here!"
He looked around at his allies, it looked like they had taken care of the forces guarding the convoy. Just a bunch of drivers and others running away now. He decided to go make sure that there were no remaining enemies left over.
He saw what looked like some Mages attacking his allies, and started to run over to help.

The mage cried out as the axe struck his chest. Falling to the ground he uttered a small curse on the rebellion...
The remaining survivors continued attempting to escape, and the plants that were attacking were playing their part in holding the rebels back but they were losing strength as the mana dissipated.
Jessica decided to make sure everyone who was down was actually dead. She kept the tips of the fingers on her right hand lit just in case as she checked bodies with her left hand and kicked a couple of them. She took notice that none of her allies were on the ground.
She was beginning to accept that every guard was dead, when she took notice of a man with a shovel on his back. This particular body didn't seem to be a guard, "Oh no, a traveller didn't get killed by our side did he?" she ran over, her fingers losing their light and she checked the pulse on the man.
Token Loli!Splash... splash... Squishy still seemed to be enjoying herself but now she was just sitting on the edge of the pond and letting the sun dry her out whilst she kicked her feet in the water. Naturally, she was talking to her mount as she did this, rambling on about the most inconsequential things.
"I wonder if Mama has any strawberries? They're so nice... even if they're too big to eat in one go, they're all yummy and stuff, especially with cream to dip the pieces in! What do you think, kitty?"
The cat yawned but didn't reply.
Ignatius felt a hand touching him, seemingly trying to find his pulse, which was fairly logical considering that he wasn't exactly incredibly active. He slowly shifted himself to make it obvious he was alive and twisted over so he had his back to the ground. He spoke to the person standing by him in an emotionless monotone. "I am unharmed. I was walking on the road when you ambushed the carts."
Jessica jumped a bit at his movements, startled. When he spoke, she relaxed, "Ah, it is good you are not harmed," She looked back at her companions, wondering if any among them would try to kill him simply for being a witness. To her, that seemed unnecessary. She also had no idea what else to say to him, and was trying to figure out how to go about asking him any important questions or anything else.
Token Loli!

Tatiana sighed and rubbed her temples. She had remained in the cover of the treeline while the others had recklessly charged in. In her mind, it didn't exactly take a genius to know that looking at what you've got to deal with before rushing in tends to be a good idea.
She peeked out from her cover, hoping the louder, more visible members of the group would keep the soldiers distracted while she got to work. Archers were firing, knights were counterattacking and it appeared some mages were getting to work on her allies, although it looked like they hadn't picked the best targets. Still, it wouldn't do to wait until they tried to ensnare someone other than the half giant.
Drawing one of her blades, the assassin uttered a few words under her breath and threw it towards the torso region of the shadow of one of the spellcasters. Hoping they would be too distracted by the fight to react to a seemingly missed shot.
