"Make them hurry up? Errr..." Feiana Chevrolet frowned slightly. The newest transfer for the unit was taking quite a long time to arrive, but Feiana couldn't make them speed up, that was for certain. What could she say to her fellow captain, really? It's not as if she could think of any kind of response that would satisfy her... "Um... We just have to be patient, I'm sure they'll be here soon!"
Feiana hoped that would help calm Aqua down. She glanced around at the others, trying to see if they seemed listless or bored too.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Frieda Sagaie certainly seemed bored. The S-ranked cyborg had three empty glasses in front of her, and she was restlessly poking the ice cubes in the newest one with her straw. The owners of the café knew them well enough that she was not allowed alcohol on duty, and so Frieda was forced to go non-alcoholic.
It was unfair, Frieda thought to herself. It wasn't like she had a drinking problem, after all. Alcohol just helped her think more clearly. Right now, the usually cheerful girl seemed rather listless, though her attitude was sure to change once the mission really started.

She might work with these people every day, but she was still closing herself off to them, mostly because she thought that as soon as she opened her mouth she might say something that hurt one of them.
She toyed with the glass in front of her. Weren't they meant to be waiting for someone?
"Yup. That tasted purple."And quite suddenly a pair of hands slammed on the counter of a table, causing a loud noise to echo through the whole café. The one responsible was no other than Elisabeth Lancelyn, the teams self proclaimed extra-cheerful trigger happy long range fighter.
"No good at all! No good at all, my good comrades. These long faces and sleepy eyes do not suit my sisters in arms at all. Thus I, Elisabeth "Elly-sama" Lancelyn have a proposal to liven up this hellish waiting!" Elly exclaimed in a flurry of speech and cheer, her gestures as filled with energy as her discourse was.
"Lets us engage in the... 'Guess-what-the-hell-headquarters-is-sending-our-way-this-time' Game! Rules are fairly simple. Make your best guess as to what kind of person is our latest recruit. Thus when he or she arrives the ones with the closest guess shall be the victors, those with the worst guesses the losers!"
"But wait, that is not everything... what better way to spice up this challenge than with a good punishment game? The losers have to receive one punishment from the winners... and the one with the best guess gets to have the one with lousiest one to do anything they wish for a day!"
"And to kick start this contest, here you people have... what I think we are getting from headquarters!
"
"Both cool and frightening, mature yet whimsical... such a confident demon is definitely what our group dearly needs!"

This sudden burst of excitement roused Frieda, and a familiar grin crept onto her face.
"You're on, Elly-chan!"
The cyborg snapped her fingers idly, thinking.
"Hmmmm...my guess is another young gun, with too strong magical abilities to fit in the normal squads. Yeah...an innocent and apologetic girl, running around doing anything to please her seniors. And cute like a doll."
She laughed.

"Don't worry, my friend. Once I win and you lose I'll make sure to make you dress just like your guess would. Plus lots of pure fruit juice for you to drink" The rapid fire expert said with an slightly evil grin.
"Oh?"
The cyborg leaned forward in her seat, fixing her eyes on Elly.
"Now that's a dangerous boast to be making in front of your senior, Elly-chan. Why, I might be tempted to give you a taste of your own medicine, and have you parade around HQ in the outfit you suggested instead."
She grinned.
"It would do you good to catch some sun."
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Feiana hadn't actually done much with the paperwork. As such, she felt like her participation wouldn't be cheating, really... though she still wanted to help Aqua sometimes. She was so small, and she did so much paperwork! Feiana wouldn't believe it was possible unless she'd seen it herself. In any case...
"I think... hmm... I think it'll be someone older. An older girl. With... um... she's very mature and careful, and things like that," Feiana guessed.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""Can I join in?" Aqua asked excitedly, clambering to the rim of the bowl and clinging onto it. She knew exactly who was coming, so it would be easy to win this guessing game and have some fun. It would even make up for the other captain's giggling when she had to sign the form! So what if it had been normal sized, along with the pen? Her handwriting was fine too, despite being shaky, and there was nothing wrong with a smiley face at the end of her signature!
"Challenge thrice over accepted, Frieda-sempai" said Elly as she put her hands on Frieda's table, leaning closer to her senior as she stared straight into her eyes, lightning practically connecting them due to the sheer intensity of their competitive spirits "Hope you have a powerful craving for fruit juice"
"And sure! I'll accept all takers!" Elly said as she lookd over at the diminutive Aqua and pointed at her with her finger... before pointing at each of the girls as they made their guesses "Older and mature girl, good one Feiana, playing on the winning team! Cute short shy guy, you truly are going with everything, right Ferrari?"
"I guess... an adult man! One that's all reserved and bland-looking! We've probably got all the interesting people, apart from the Aces, on this team already," Aqua said confidently, having considered the person being transferred to be... well... somewhat dull. But they wouldn't even let her send a letter to the Enforcer of the Aces, something about interfering with someone that already had a mission in progress, and the other two didn't fit the roles they needed. HQ was mean.
The click-click of military boots on the pavement could be heard, and the girls could see a man in brown Ground Forces uniform (and a black longcoat) coming their way, holding something near his face and conversing with it.
When he reached the table, he put the Device away and saluted, clicking his heels. "Sargent Lucius Anneaus Astra Seneca reporting for duty, ma'am," he told Aqua.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home."I win!" Aqua said happily, ignoring whoever it was for a second and then flopping back into her bowl. She'd had to interview him briefly, which was... annoying. Interviews were boring and she didn't care about half of this stuff! She just wanted combat stuff and interesting people, she didn't want aspirations or people's favourite drinks or any of that confusing nonsense.
"Oh, right, this is him. Say hi to everyone, Lucky!"
"Dammit, new guy!" Was Elly's cry of defeat just before her face hit the cold hard table with a thud. Her dissapointment and, more importantly, her loss managed to suck up her whole energy and leave only gloom in its wake.
She then looked over at her senior with a little frown and the beginnings of a pout and said "My only comfort is to know that you lost even worse than I did"
Frieda's own grin had disappeared the moment the new guy had entered. Not only was it a man, but he was on top of it all older than Frieda. He wasn't cute either (what was with that beard?), and his straight-laced and serious personality didn't help. Frieda could not have been more wrong if she had tried. She sighed. At least it was to the captain, and not to any of the others.
"Yeah, thanks, fellow loser."
So, this was the new guy, huh? Lucius something something something. He looked a bit out of place with the rest of them, but Frieda knew that people didn't get in this particular little unit without having earned it. She wondered where he had served before...

Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! As soon as the new recruit arrived, Feiana hopped to her feet and strode towards him. Male? Right, um... that was a little bit unexpected, but whatever, there were male members of the team already. In any case, the small girl looked up at the man and greeted him. "Hello, I am First Captain Feiana Chevrolet, welcome to Riot Force One!"
Inside, she was a little bit frustrated that she had lost the game... but that didn't matter, she had a new team member to greet! Therefore she had to act mature and responsible.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""Lucky, why aren't you saying hi?" Aqua asked, frowning. She'd told him to say hi to people... not stand there like a statue and let them greet him! He'd be mobbed at this rate, and then they'd all have to introduce themselves again, and they'd be in the café forever! She was out of money for icecream, too.
My master, is everything all-right? said a voice from one of Lucius's pockets.
"What? Oh, right," mumbled the man. He saluted again. "I apologise for my impoliteness. I zoned out for a moment."
Turning to Feiana, he said, "Hello there, First Captain. As I've said, I am Lucius Annaeus Astra Seneca. I would ask our dear leader" -his tone was only half-sarcastic as he shot a glance at the Unison Device- "Aqua not to call me Lucky. Just Lucius will do."
He paused and regarded the group. "You're quite the group, aren't you? Well, I am sure this is going to be much more... Interesting than Battalion 108. Though I doubt there's someone as good a teacher as Master Sargent Nakajima... Oh, well, one does with what one has."
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Frieda frowned. That was a strange attitude to be adapting, for a newcomer to a professional special task force. Sure, the Master Sergeant was an excellent teacher, but this wasn't the criminal investigation's unit. But he would soon learn that the members of the Lost Property force were not to be underestimated. She smiled. This could be fun.
"Welcome to the Lost Property Riot Force, Lucius. I'm Frieda Sagaie, frontline ballistic support. Nice to meet you."

"I'm bored," Aqua whined, which was a somewhat silly thing for a girl floating in a punch bowl to be saying. But, really, it was boring, waiting for their newest transfer to arrive, even if they had chosen a café to do it in and the café had been accommodating enough to give the Unison Device a bowl to splash around in. It did help that she'd been coming here for the owners entire lives, though, "Can't we make them hurry up, Chevvy?"
This last line was directed at the girl sat at the table and the other captain of the squad. Scattered around, and occupying fully half the space in the warm café, was the rest of Riot Force 1, both a good source of income and property damage.
Sure enough, the newest member was on their way. And then, they could be off to parts unknown!
