Favourite Song in a VN?

I have an interesting personal favourite. Overall, I think the Ef soundtrack is absolutely beautiful, but it has a lack of really good single tracks. G-Senjou no Maou is similar, though it has really f*cking good songs near the end.

Though overall, I didn't like the soundtrack much, I really like this one song in Da Capo II. It just sounds so nice.

My other choice would be Song For Friends in Little Busters or Close Your Eyes in G Senjou No Maou. And Tsubasa ver. Hope from Umineko

There's just one song that beats them all for me. Kage Futatsu, aka Two Shadows, from Clannad.

I'm not sure I've heard a song that induces such a great sense of accomplishment as this one, especially the final, drawn out, fading note. Light GET!

Overall, I loved Clannad's music. Most tracks are excellent. Kyou's and Tomoyo's tunes are the best character themes (and it has no bearing on them being my favourite character, no sir), and there are several of the atmospheric songs that can stand on replay till the speakers drop.

"Byakumu no Mayu (Cocoon of White Dreams) ~ Ricordando il passato" from Umineko.

"Kage Futatsu" from CLANNAD and "Close Your Eyes" from G Senjou No Maou come close.

Dorchadas from Shikkoku No Sharnoth is probably up there as well as My Glorious Days from Sengoku Rance. The Umineko and G Senjou No Maou soundtracks are probably better overall, but those are the two I think please me the most.

Seconding Ricordando il passato. I stared into darkness for what seemed like eternity after finishing Ep 8, just listening to that song and letting the tears roll down my cheeks.

Great, now I'm getting depressed again... damn you Umineko!

Also Umineko soundtrack in general. Of course.

Either Dear You (any variant) or Emiya. Though my experience with visual novels is very limited, so those two franchises are pretty much my sample.

Shinigan (Naruto fanfic)

Obligatory embedding of My Glorious Days. Makes any VN H-scene enjoyable no matter how seafood-laden it is. Sengoku Rance has a great soundtrack in general.

Monster Girl Quest's Shintennou Battle is also awesome.

I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.

Perhaps I have to be kind of boring and post Town, Flow of Time, People.

Maybe some could consider it over-used, or just like the other "everyday life goes on" tracks I'm sure all Visual Novels have, but for me just listening to it can remind me of the most fundamental parts of CLANNAD. It's immersive and fits the tone very well, which is why I like it. I would like it less if I hadn't read Clannad though I think.

I don't know the context for Memories of a Distant Journey though, and I really like it.

EMIYA is basically a given.

I think the entire soundtrack of Clannad is like that. If you've played the game, memories will come. Or if not memories, the emotions of the memories. Town, Flow of Time, People is a perfect example of that.

There are so many songs I loooove in Umineko like dreamenddischarger, hope, the executioner, worldenddominator, engage of marionette, etc. My favorite soundtrack ever.

I love Nagisa's theme and Palm of a Tiny Hand in Clannad a lot.

As someone stated above Dorchadas is quite catchy.

I think Battlefield of Steel from Princess Waltz holds my top spot so far. I think it gets used a few times too many over the course of the game, but it still manages to sound pretty epic even by the last time.

Both Flame of Life from Muv Luv and I'm Always Close To You from Symphonic Rain for the tearjerker value.

I'm not sure I would call it my all time favorite but this one from Shin Koihime really stuck out in my mind, as it is from the event where Sheren dies.

Melody from Symphonic Rain. Beside just bursting with joy, the guitar is frickin' awesome.
Really, that vn has quite a few great songs.
Otherwise, The Voices of Trees and the Bustle of Life from Kanon has an incredibly sexy synth string thingy going on. I want it so, so bad.
