I think he's hoping for some kind of highlighting system for wicks.
Edit: while liking the old name might be an argument on some tropes, tropes that have become a Verbal Tick getting renamed is not something you're going to be able to fight. Or Is It and So Yeah were like that, and I'm willing to bet Punctuated Emphasis had the same problem before its rename.

We already have a thread to discuss fixing TRS issues. We don't need lots of additional ones. This idea was already brought up there.

OK, I'll admit it: I'm mostly on the side of FORKS. I didn't like it when tropes like This! Is!SPARTA! were renamed, and worse, I had the ungood feeling that this happened in a cheating way.
The problem I see is: People who like the names of a trope as it is (or in many cases now, was) will only discover the renamed trope after someone brought it to TRS, where it was discussed, moved, and after all the wicks have been changed. i.e. at a time when it's too late to complain.
Many tropers don't read TRS, at least not every day. Let alone all the lurkers out there.
Now I wonder whether it'd be possible to highlight to-be-renamed tropes somehow, just like YMMV tropes on main work pages. That would help to notice folks: There's something gonna happen with this trope! Better speak out before it's too late!
